Edit: Added the list for the Sea Creatures!!
Edit 2: Added more sea creatures and shadow sizes. Also added info about pearls and how obtaining the mermaid DIYs works.

Sadly there's no new fish or bugs arriving in July for the South Hemisphere.

Those in the North Hemisphere though, are you excited? There's alot of cicadas and beetles to catch, no doubt it's going to make the next Bug Off way more fun. Make sure you have plenty of palm trees so the beetles can spawn. I personally can't wait to catch the Horned Hercules and get the model from Flick, as it'll be another "Grand" model to collect!

Don't forget that new creatures are coming with the update on July 3rd. Both hemispheres will be able to dive and catch sea creatures! I'll be updating this with what I catch, and I hope the community can come together and compile their info for what they catch while diving in July here as well. Happy catching!

Pearls can be found by diving, these are used as material for the mermaid set. They are available all day, year round.
Pascal will only give you one (1) DIY a day when given a Scallop.

I honestly can't wait for the update, sure, it's just a small one, but one of my favorite part of Animal Crossing has always been filling the museum. How many new sea creatures will be added, how many will be available right away? Wonder if they'll add another tank in the aquarium part of the museum...

I really cant wait for this. My daughter will be visiting so we are going to have a blast with all this new stuff

i’m super excited! i’ve honestly missed the cicadas but i’ll probably be sick of them again by the end of tomorrow. specifically, i’m hella excited to catch a napoleonfish, too - it’s a weird lookin’ fish but i love it lmao. also can’t wait to scare off all the beetles because i Suck and to be staring at my screen like 0-0 when i catch an ocean sunfish lmaoo.

also i’m hella excited for the update!! i’ve missed pascal so, so much and i loved swimming in new leaf so i’m very excited for pascal to harass me for scallops again 😌

Well then, pretty much I’ll go try opening my game later for the new bugs and fish.
Thanks for the reminder though.
Hopefully the update won’t make me still lose my motivation to play temporarily....

So many bugs. I've been having trouble finding grasshoppers. Are they supposed to be rare? All I get are looooong locusts.

Edit: Went on a mystery island. Caught it immediately.

It's on like donkey Kong! First, the Bug Off. Then, Beetlemania. Finally, diving. What a freakin' week (for us Northerners, sorry not sorry)!

I like the sound of cicadas during summer! One tip is that you can find one nearby when hearing them cry.

I can't wait for Beetlemania! I think we were spoiled in NL since the Island was always in summer so this really excites me! I can't wait for the update so I can dive again.

Thanks for the list of all the new bugs/fish. Hunting down all the new bugs/fish every month is one of my favorite things to do each month.

Plus with the update coming soon looks like we’ll be having a good bit to do here for a while, really excited.

Just encounter a grasshopper, and gotta say, it has a very cute hop.

Also, the cicadas are a lot more quiet than I expected. Kind of wish the music was a tad lower or the bug noises were higher. Scared a few off by accident.

Horned Hercules is the last thing I need. Can’t wait for sea creatures.

Still need the giant cicada, the shell, two ocean fish, and the rare beetles. Not bad for less than 12 hours since the calendar turned to July.
