Official Soup Thread

I just want to say that ramen is soup though. ACTUAL ramen (not the instant package stuff that people are familiar with in America) definitely looks more like soup than what you're probably familiar with though, since it actually has veggies and other things in it.

ANYWAY...

(Shhh click this lmao)

jeez i totally forgot about vietnamese Pho, it's the most awesome comfort food ever

Pho is my actual favourite soup. That and this soup my mom makes with spicy Italian sausage in it, it's like an insta-cure if you have a cold.

I forgot what it was called, but there is this soup my aunt makes that is yellowish cream in color and uses potatoes. It's really good <3

I'm...such a big fan of clam chowder HAHA I'VE...been called an old man for it but it's so good

It's actually only recently, like a month and half ago, that I've tried beef stew. and let me tell you hooo boy that stuff is good. bought five cans of it the other day.

Tomato soup + grilled cheese = ♥

Also, cream of mushroom soup is so underrated. Everyone I know thinks its disgusting.

Totally agree. I love cream of celery soup a lot, as well. I like eat it with a little bit of cheese on top.

The older I get, the more I like soup, especially when it's chilly outside. So, so good.

Chicken and dumplings has always been one of my favorites (the dumplings have to be huge, though). Baked potato soup with bacon bits and chive is also really good, as is corn chowder (chowder counts as soup, right?). I also really like beef stew, and a variety of hotpot recipes (hotpot should totally count as soup).

(the fact that this thread is a thing makes me simultaneously laugh out loud and very excited. i really fetching love soup)

I worked at a soup and salad place over the summer, so the topic of soup is very near and dear to my heart. I've talked on here before about my favorite salads and toppings and dressings, but it's time to talk about SOUP! I love it. It's warm and comforting and can cheer anyone up on cold, miserable nights that are far more frequent in November than, I think, any other month of the year. My family has some really bombin' recipes for creamy carrot soup, butternut squash soup, and broccoli cheddar soup, primarily because my grandmother and a few of my aunts are vegetarian, so we always have some kind of meat-free variety of soup in addition to the white chicken chili we have so often during our weekly family dinners.

But my favorite place to get soup, obviously, is the restaurant I worked at. I love it so much, honestly. Every Friday, we have a clam chowder that is absolutely divine. I mean, I love seafood, but combine it with wonderful soft chunks of potatoes and a bit of bacon and that delicious, creamy soup and BAM! You've got yourself the most delicious chowder of all time.

So like I'm super particular about my soup, I go into trying new soups with the baseline that I will not like it.
I've been surprised by tomato soups (not from cans though) corn chowder, and red lobster's lobster bisque (other bisques have not compared yet) and clam chowder only when I'm at a nice restaurant by the beach

I had a poblano pepper and corn chowder yesterday and it was really good. Weird for me because I never crave soup

My favorite is pumkin soup, just thinking about it makes me all happy and warm. I also like tomato soup, but I have to be in the mood to eat it. It just doesn't feel right all the time.
