If this is the incorrect place or not allowed let me know! I like to knock out multiple days in a row I understand that Nintendo intended for a slow experience but some just find that boring but still want to enjoy the game ya know? I don't time travel to "cheat" like do exploits or anything it's just to reset everything so I can play it for more than like 30 minutes a day I did actually try without time traveling and just for me personally I found it kind of boring :( now I'm not knocking people who DON'T time travel my sis played from the beginning and only recently started time traveling I just believe everyone is entitled to play how they want since they paid for it :) but I'm curious what you guys think! (If it doesn't break any rules that is)

The way I see it, it’s your game, do with it as you will; you paid for it. Time traveling is a sort of exploit since it’s not a feature in the game, it’s something you have to do outside of it. However, it Nintendo didn’t want this to work and found it to be too much of an exploit, they would’ve patched it and made it so the time in the game does not change and will follow whatever time it was last before the change(this could get complicated and simply not worth doing tbh). It is a small exploit and not harmful. Coming back around to you should do as you please. Personally, I loved being able to play New Leaf without time traveling; only time traveling if necessary, like to kick certain villagers out to get villagers I wanted. With this game I very much feel the need to time travel as 1: there isn’t as much to do and 2: I’m much busier now(I’m a mom now) and don’t have as much time

I time travel all the time, it's a large part of the game for me. In past games, villagers would even acknowledge it and call you a time traveler.
Generally it's not looked down on in this community, people should play the game they way they think is the most fun for them.
Though outside of TBT it is considered controversial.

Yeah basically play the game however you want as long as it's not hurting anybody.

Personally when I started playing the game I time travelled a lot and it kinda ruined the experience for me. So when I reset my island I decided to never time travel and I had way more fun since I didn't burn myself as easily and honestly getting alot done in one day felt soooo satisfying for me.

Im cool with tt. I use it a lot myself. The only thing that really bugs me about it is when people bash on others for tting because 'its cheating'.
It's fine if you consider it cheating, just don't give someone a lot of hate for doing it, ya know?

My opinion is that its a single player game and everyone needs to just let others play in the way that suits them best be that never time traveling, binging all the holidays and seasons in one week, or anything in between.

For my personal gameplay I TT to move buildings or order more stuff for decoration projects I’m working on but I never TT for museum stuff, holidays, or seasons.

i time travel sometimes but not very often. it doesnt matter to me if others tt or dont. i usually find myself enjoying the game more if i play without time traveling though

I didn't TT at all when I first played AC:NL which was fun for a while, but I'm someone who likes to get sucked into a game for hours and not TTing isn't too conducive to that since you run out of things to do in one day eventually. I started TTing whenever I was finished with my dailies each day and that fit my playstyle more. Once AC:NH came out I did the same thing and will continue to. People like to play their games differently and it's not really my (or anyone else's really) business to say which way is wrong or right.

I never time traveled until I lost my island during the transfer to a Nintendo Switch OLED. I did not want to go through the entire weeklong tutorial again just to get my island restarted.

Like others say, play the way you want to play it. I am kinda getting tired of this whole debate going on. Time traveling is your choice and its not going to hurt anyone. For me personally I only time travel if I want to get items ordered from my nook catalog and get them the next day, but I don't do it often so it doesn't learn to burnout on the game.

I will use time travel sometimes to achieve a specific goal, such as moving in a villager with amiibo.
But I won't time travel outside of that, and when time travelling I won't do anything other than the goal I set out to achieve.

I personally don't get the appeal in long term time travelling. To me that would strip the game of all of its joy and charm.

But to each their own

Yeah Anti TT seems a bit toxic to people who TT and was just curious how it was viewed here glad I won't be treated like a criminal!

I can understand being a parent making time travel probably needed personally I see an exploit as something that breaks the game and only I only see it as cheating if people are like doing exploits online to get a stupid amount of bells I do think I could see myself slowing down but rn I'm having fun just knocking down many days in a row :)

I'm not a fan of it personally. Cheating in games has always taken the fun out of them for me. That's not to say I haven't done it though.

I've no opinion on others doing it.
Personally as I said above I don't see it as cheating just playing the game at your own pace but that's just my opinion and I do believe people are entitled to there opinion :)

I didn't TT at all when I first played AC:NL which was fun for a while, but I'm someone who likes to get sucked into a game for hours and not TTing isn't too conducive to that since you run out of things to do in one day eventually. I agree with what you said totally like I said I tried doing it the way many see as "legit" but I just got bored quickly :( (again not knocking on people who don't time travel)

I will use time travel sometimes to achieve a specific goal, such as moving in a villager with amiibo.

I think it just has to do with being able to do multiple days and just get sucked into the game for hours without feeling bored that you've done everything that day but I can understand the appeal of not time traveling just spending an hour or so on a day and then going about your day :)

Im cool with tt. I use it a lot myself. The only thing that really bugs me about it is when people bash on others for tting because 'its cheating'.
It's fine if you consider it cheating, just don't give someone a lot of hate for doing it, ya know?
Yeah that was my concern people who time travel are treated as like criminals by some I'm just like "it's just a game"
I'm really glad that this community is understanding I hope to interact with many more of you and get more involved with the community x (sorry if my post was at all controversial!)

People should play however they want. As long as your happy with how you play , it really doesn’t matter.I do time travel at times. Usually no longer then three or four days. It’s usually just to move villagers in and out. I don’t always have to time to look for villagers so I sometimes time travel so I can look when I have a day off. I will time travel back to holidays since I sometimes miss those or just to tired to play. I don’t see it as cheating. With work and other things my time to play is limited so time traveling every once in awhile is a must for me.

I time travel sometimes. To rush the completion of island home and bridge relocation. Sometimes to rush the arrival of items I’ve ordered from my catalog or the Nook Miles portal that I’m eager to incorporate into designs! Like the others who’ve commented, I believe people should play the game however suits them best.

I hear of anti TTS all the time but I never met any lol. Like I hear of ppl saying other people say it’s cheating and attack you for it but I’ve yet to actually see it haha. Maybe I’m just lucky then, I hate drama.
That being said idc what others do with their game, and I TT occasionally for example when I wanna move a villager out or I have a project I wanna finish!

sometimes I was a bit bummed when literally 10 mins after an update social media was full of spoilers bc ppl fine traveled but that’s not their fault, it’s social media I guess!
In conclusion i Go by the motto: play however you want and let others play however they want :3

but I can understand the appeal of not time traveling just spending an hour or so on a day and then going about your day :)
I can actually do more than 8 hours a day :p
Of course I don't expect everyone to want to spend 8 hours a day on their island each day haha

I personally haven't been time traveling with New Horizons. I played my first island in 2020 from March - Nov day-by-day, and now I'm doing this with my second island. I just personally find it more enjoyable and rewarding.

With that said, I have nothing against those who choose to time travel for whatever reason they may have. It's not hurting me or my gameplay, so I don't have any right to tell someone how to play their game! To each their own :)

Given that this is a non-competitive game, I don't think that there is anything wrong with time traveling even if you're doing it to get access to items/facilities you haven't unlocked yet. I'm not even opposed to people hacking in items or using treasure islands because, at the end of the day, nothing that you do in this game affects anyone but you. So my philosophy has always been to do whatever makes you happy, whatever that may mean for you in terms of play-style.
