pet peeves / lil stuff you cant stand

class/teachers pets. oh my goodness. i never had to deal with many of them in high school but every class i have now in college has one and dear me is it annoying. the class becomes less about the lesson and more about them. like come on dude, this class is one hour long, please stop having a full conversation with the teacher about a TV show you both watch. i really don't want to be here longer.

i don't mean the animals, either. i dont mind if your dog is barking on zoom, just STOP WASTING OUR TIME!!!

When you tell people you're not much for modern music and they basically go off like "But, but you have to look at indie/non-radio pop stuff etc." Like yeah I got a good buncha friends who likes that and recommends stuff and most is definitely bland or trying to copy retro sounds in bad ways. Just because you're indie pop/folk whatever doesn't mean you're better because you're not mainstream.

There are definitely bland old tunes as well, but I find them being overrepresented in modern music.

Hate when people message you 'hey' with no further context or question I deadass ignore it. Literally just say "Hey I was wondering how you're doing" or "Hey would you be down to play a game or something" and then I'll knwo the tone of the convo you wanna have. I don't like the ominous hey. I never know wtf kinda convo I'm about to get stunlocked into. Most of the time the Hey by itself is followed up by them emotionally dumping on me

Might have touched on this earlier, but I hate when people answers like "let's meet up at 1-2 pm" or likewise. Either say 1 pm, 2 pm, or 1.30 pm... don't be so damn vague. I mean yes we have phones these days but seriously...

• I hate when people post subliminal messages or memes that are clearly about you.
• When people make assumptions about you, especially with the way you feel or who you are.

Parents who play favourites with their kids. Kids pick up on that garbage and it'll only cause fights between siblings.

My pet peeve is something I do to myself. I think really fast and sometimes that doesn't translate well when I type. Sometimes there are words missing when I type and it annoys me to no end. Here on this forum I go through past posts and realize that I missed words that I thought I typed so a lot of posts have edits. I even had to go through this response to make sure everything is in order.

Okay I have to say this but another pet peeve that I cannot stand is. When you hear the same advice over and over again. Like don't get me wrong its fine to hear the first time and people are trying to be helpful but when you have to hear it so many times you just get so sick of it.

I get sensory overload from people chewing too loudly or snoring and my fiance snores like a damn grizzly bear.
lol I forgot how noisy my family was at eating until I heard them recently. I must've just never knew any different when I was kid or just shoved it in my mind vault. It's like someone shoving their boot in a mud-hole over and over.

Which is a cool atmospheric sound in itself, but context is important.

Yeah it's seems like a thing when super good artist be like "omg look at this ugly scribble" when they're basically more or less pro-level. It's like... stop. I dunno it seems like an internet thing and I agree 100% with your post.

Also generally when people complain about them being bad when they got 99% A's and one B. like bruh wtf there are people struggling to pass or can't even go to school for reasons.

Thats the same issue when people compare their islands in ACNH to others and they say "Oh my island is not as good as theirs" like come on at least give yourself credit that you at least tried to be original. I learned that the hard way when I just tell myself to make whatever stands out to me.

A lot of things annoy me in fanfiction (but I still read it haha). For example, when a character stutters, but like a lot. Something like "W-what do you mean?" or "I-I'm sorry!" is fine, but if a character says "H-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-hi" then I'm clicking off. I also remember this fic I read that had everything that drove me absolutely bonkers. An unclear storyline, confusing exchanges between the characters, a very cursed ship that was the main focus of the story, characters that acted and were out-of-character, and don't even get me started with the grammar. I remember seeing 'asaembled' instead of 'assembled', like how do you misspell something like that and not notice it?? And I can understand people mixing up there/their/they're, but I saw 'back words' instead of 'backwards' and I literally freaked. 😭 I guess that is to be expected with Wattpad fanfiction, which was exactly what I was reading. 🤷‍♀️

I don't like when someone talks really loud in public and/or uses the speaker phone. Like Idk if some people really have "naturally loud" voices or if that's some BS, but it's annoying. With the speaker phone thing... once I overheard someone share some really sad and personal stuff in the middle of Macy's and my heart went out to them, but I wished the lady turned the speaker-phone to regular phone mode to give the person some privacy.

Gatekeeping hobbies/interests is really stupid. There's no good reason for it.

Also mispronouncing words on purpose...I know this sounds weird, but some people actually do it. Like I understand if some people actually have speech and/or comprehension issues, but it's not quirky or funny to me.

Some words bother me. Like "adulting" or "cringe." I just think they're overused to the point of no return.

Idk, sometimes exaggerated facial expressions get to me. Like sometimes they're funny, but it quickly loses its appeal.

I have to comment about gatekeeping with hobbies. It's so annoying. Like it's a hobby, I'm not making money off it, so leave me alone to do whatever I want. Usually the gatekeepers are feeling insecure in their real lives and crave control/superiority but it's still annoying. Let people have fun, life is tough.
