Pokémon Pokemon General

^Yeah also get good water/ice pokemon and moves, unless they for her stronger than OG she weren't too bad.

On older games' note, tried the demo for Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu, most useless demo I ever saw but also I kinda want the game, though it's still so expensive :(

I still haven’t beaten Cynthia. My team isn’t the strongest, so her Garchomp keeps sweeping me. I’m not really sure where to grind for levels either. The Pokémon in Victory Road barely give any exp points.

Garchomp has many counters pre-National dex. One of them is on Cynthias own team and its levels up really fast if you manage to find it. I used a Milotic for my initial E4 run. I taught my Milotic the move Ice Beam and never had any problems with the Garchomp. The move Ice Beam can be found in Veilstone Department Store if I recall. Not just Milotic, but most special attacking Water type can learn Ice Beam. Drizzle Pelipper is a good choice if you don't want to go through the pain of finding the Feebas tile and it can be found high levelled north of Sunyshore. Just remember, Cynthia's team is levelled high but has their weaknesses.

I’ve been shiny hunting the Regis in SwSh. I was lucky with Regirock and Regice but I fear 1/4096 odds is gonna become my worst nightmare.

On the last gym now, I really need to get like a Milotic or something for E4 because Empoleon really is the worst starter final evo lol. If anyone got one, hit me up I'll pay generously in TBT bells.

I have got one you can have
For bdsp right? i've people offered but then they turn out to not have it in that game. if such let me know when you can trade :) thanks! i can offer some tbt bells if needed. Should be online most of today.

seconding the Grand Underground suggestion! lots of good Pokémon to fight against there, I personally did a lot of levelling in the fountainspring cave because gastrodons give great exp & I had a grass type to pit against them!

personally though for Garchomp I’d actually recommend a fairy type move instead of ice beam unless the Pokémon you teach ice beam to has high enough SPATK — even with the 4x weakness, Garchomp is holding a yache berry so if the attack isn’t strong enough you’re losing that 4x 1hko

Yep, underground is good for it and yeah make sure you've battled all trainers in eg. victory road and such.

Fairy is defo good, too though I wish there were better options, chanseys aren't exactly thst good levels unless you get that Happiny and cba evolving it...

I mean Gardevoir is a good choice generally but yeah idk how well it stands tbh.

Got the Happiny egg hatched, can't believe it's so easy to miss in the beginning lol :V Oh well time for some real farming, training tomorrow!

@porkpie28 I've to go for today, I'll be on Discord a bit before I go completely for the day but yeah maybe we should suggest a time to trade if you're busy?

Problem with Gardy is that Cynthia's Garchomp knows Poison Jab. Clefable is a lot bulkier and could possibly take one or two PJs and knows Moonblast which is better than Dazzling Gleam. Most Pokemon with high Sp Attack that know DG are usually very frail, like Gengar and Alakazam. Physical Fairy-types could work also but there are very few options. Ice is still the best, even taking account the Yache berry, so don't underestimate it. My Milotic 1HKO the Garchomp even with the Yache activated. The version legendaries and certain special bulky waters are still the best chance against Garchomp. Roar of Time for Dialga and Draco Meteor for Palkia, depending on which version your game is in. If you have BD, make sure you equip either the Adamant Orb to boost RoT or the Shuca berry to reduce the damage from EQ. Dialga is pretty bulky on the defensive side, so it can take one EQ.

We should be getting some more info next week on Legends Arceus. Its releasing this month so Gamefreak has to release more gameplay trailers soon. I want to at least know if the starters having Hisuian regional forms is true or not

Yeah, I guess I'll try and get a Blissey now though that I finally remembered that dumb egg lol. And yeah hopefully Porkpie comes on so we could trade as well. :) And yeah I always use the legendaries I can for Elite Four, I really hate the concept of it so yeah I just smoke thru it haha.

Oh yeah I'm definitely excited for that. I mean not much is out but hey I will probably get it anyway cause I'm such a sucker.

Guess I could get a Clefairy too but they ain't exactly ideal levels for getting good stuff from them. Breeding I s'ppose.

Interesting how few Pokémon can learn Moonblast though naturally and it's not even a TM. Got a Blissey maybe I should try for a Clefairy later on, sounds like it could be useful.

Yes! Clefable with Magic Guard is really good.

Got Shiny Zekrom in Ultra Moon after 221 encounters.
