Pokémon Pokemon Go General Discussion

Reached level 6, still haven't joined a team tho because I don't leave my house, also why I'm only level six, I just catch the pokemon that randomly show up in my house. XD I caught a Jigglypuff at like 4am in my bathroom which was neat, and then after complaining about my boyfriend being gassy all morning ironically caught a Koffing in bed. Also caught a Pidgey IN my trashcan which I thought was appropriate since that's where he belongs.

I'm actually very impressed by this! :D If I had to rely on only catching the Pokemon that spawned at home I'd probably still be at level one ...! Heh, trash Pidgey!

I had to put it on my parent's phone, because I don't have one xD Pretty sure my mom only allowed me to do it, because I walk now. :p

Very close to being level 7 xD Got it way later than everyone else though.

AHHHH THERE WAS A JOLTEON IN SOMEONS BACKYARD AND I COULDNT GET IT :///

Had my first bad experience playing Pokemon Go today.

Since the only Pokestops that are with in walking distance of my house are playgrounds. I took my daughter to one. This one was a hybrid small water fountain play area type thing and an actual playground. I had set a towel down under a tree by the fence since it was one of the few shady spots and let my daughter play around. At the moment this happened, she was on the swing and I was focused a little on my phone and kindle while tapping the Pokestop every 5 minutes to get balls. I was also tuned to the sound the swing makes so I know she hasn't moved. So it took me by surprise when someone tried getting my attention. I look to my left and there is some guy standing there on the other side of the fence leaning towards me.

Him: Hey are you alone?
Me: Uh no?
Him: Oh okay.

He walks away. I look around to make sure my kid was still on the swing and then go back to reading my kindle. But from the corner of my eye I saw the guy walking along the fence again but this time kinda slow and looking at his phone. He does it a few times. I thought that he was probably playing Pokemon Go and was looking for a Pokemon. No big deal right? But I don't know, I felt really weird. I go back to my kindle, and the guy shows up again and stops right by the fence and is leaning towards me while holding his phone at a certain angle that looks like he's taking my picture.

Him: Can I get your number?
Me: What?
Him: Your cell phone number.
Me: No. I'm here with my daughter and I don't think my boyfriend will like that.
Him: Oh okay.

He walks away again. This time my gut is doing the "LEAVE LEAVE LEAVE MOVE MOVE MOVE!" warning, so I beckon to my kid and tell her we're leaving soon but she wanted a few more minutes. I sat down on the other side of the playground closer to the swings and let her back on the swing. I look up and I see the guy walk past AGAIN and really slow while looking into the park this time. So I tell my kid we're leaving now and we pack up our stuff and head out. She asked me what was wrong and I told her that some guy was being a creeper. She looks at me and goes:

Her: Well you're really pretty so it makes sense, Mommy.
Me: That still doesn't make it right, lets go home.
Her: Okay.

Now we live two blocks from the park, which requires crossing the street and walking about half a mile where there is a tunnel/bridge and a turn. My kid makes a point to stay right next to me, instead of going on ahead on her scooter. As we got near the tunnel, I saw the shadow of a man walking towards us. My kid stops her scooter gets off and walks right next to me. "Its that guy again." And she was right, it was that guy again walking towards us. So I get on my phone and call my boyfriend. Walked past the guy and kept walking. While on the phone with my bf, my kid goes ahead a little bit and then turns around to look at me while I'm walking towards her. She told me the guy stopped when he reached the other end of the tunnel and turned around and was slowly walking behind us. I freak out and I tell her to go faster and we hurried towards a limo lot that has people in it, skirted around some limos and made it into our building.

Maybe I over reacted but no one will walk back and forth in front of a park unless they either have kids playing in it or hitting the Pokestop. Don't hunt alone. Seriously. I don't feel comfortable going outside again, let alone going to that same park. I didn't even get enough Pokeballs to last me the weekend and I know at some point I will have to venture out again to get more.

I took over two different gyms today. It felt nice to battle another team's gym and win, but I know they'll be taken in less than 24 hours.

Ah, my sister and I found a paradise! It's a little park with a man made lake in the middle. There are a bunch of stops grouped together and each one had a lure. They were probably 50-60 people all in the middle hunting!!! It was seriously such a cool thing to see -- whole families were playing together and big groups of friends and couples. And we caught so many Pokemon! Lots of water-type, which I needed, including a Wartortle! We are thinking of going back tomorrow for more!

Also, I tried the Eevee trick with 'Sparky' and I am happy to report that it worked! I just need Vaporeon now, so I'll try 'Rainer' next :)

Since the only...

Christ almighty. That gave me chills, seriously nothing about the way he was acting is remotely okay. I've never gone out hunting alone and I definitely will not now. I'm glad you left when you did & that you and your daughter are okay.

I'm an introvert with slight social anxiety. So it was stressful just going out. =\ My boyfriend suggested I get pepper spray since in my state, we need a gun permit to get a tazer. My kid says she doesn't want to go to that park anymore so we'll be going to a different one that isn't on a busy street. x.X The bf said that with Pokemon Go, a lot of people are going outside more, but some of them lack the social queues and don't realize what they're doing. Which is understandable. x.X

I went with my sister to a park near her house. Managed to catch a tauros and several doduo. It was 10 pm at night, but I felt relatively safe since there were tons of people there (four lures going off in one area is bound to attract many players, especially college students on the campus) and there were three police cars in the area. We think the police like playing pokemon too! :D

Finally broke 1k CP on one of my Pokemon! It took forever! (~ _△_)~ zzz

I'm half-way done with my dream team. I just need to evolve Staryu and somehow manage to get my hands on Gengar and Dragonite. It's gonna be hard considering I've only encountered one Dratini and have yet to see a single of the 3 ghosts. :-(
