Pokémon Pokémon snap

I get every single mainline Pokémon game, and some of the spinoffs too. I never played the original snap but i'm really not a fan of on-rails gameplay, so I'm skipping unfortunately.

My sister and I loved playing the original. I still have our old save file with all of our best pictures. However, I don’t plan to get this one. I stopped really following Pokémon after the gold/silver/crystal games, so I wouldn’t know a whole lot about the Pokémon in this game. I guess you don’t really need to, but I still can’t justify it for myself at a $60 price.

I have never played snap before not going to buy it going to wait for the remake to be out

I won't be purchasing the new Pokémon Snap, no. I played the original Pokémon Snap back in the day and I thought it was okay, but it's not something I ever got really invested in. Additionally, when it comes to Pokémon, aside from the early days when I was a kid and got the two Pokémon Stadium games, I've always been strictly interested in the main series games. The only side games I'd consider are the Pokémon Ranger game that would let you acquire a Manaphy Egg in your Generation IV games, My Pokémon Ranch because you could get a Mew, and similar games where you can acquire and transfer a mythical Pokémon into your main series games. Oh, and Pokémon Conquest because I enjoy turn-based tactical gameplay. I've never actually purchased any of those though.

All that said, I do know people who really enjoyed the original Pokémon Snap and are excited to get this new installment. I'm happy for everyone who wanted a sequel for so long and I hope that the game lives up to their expectations.

I've pre-ordered it and am ready to go. I loved the first game and have been waiting for them to either port it or make a sequel for years.

It might not be the most exciting game, but it is fun and relaxing, and the graphics look to be nice, judging from images I've seen.

I've had it preordered since that was a possibility, and I am actively engaged in "patiently waiting" mode.

I never got to play the original Snap, and I'm afraid I won't like this type of game so I'm sure I won't be buying it. However, I know it has a huge cult following so I really hope everyone that gets it falls in love!

I pre-ordered it and am excited to play! In hindsight maybe I should have waited for reviews to come out, because if it's just like the first game then it won't be worth $60 for how short it will be. I'm hoping they made it a lot longer whether that means more routes on each maps or just more maps in general. Replayablity is key for this game to be successful because the first Snap game wasn't really very replayable other than for nostalgia purposes.

I played the original as a kid and my sister and I had a lot of fun with it. I love photography and Pokemon, so the concept is a win for me, plus I love the little "puzzles" you have to figure out to get the best shot, plus it's being developed by the original devs, (Hal Laboratory) and they make great games!

I get that, and I might be in the minority in that I did find the original game to be replayable. I would challenge myself to get the best poses, or after Prof. Oak was happy, to get what was most pleasing to me (we had very different ideas on that!). It also was fun to go look for the secret shots, especially if I hadn't played in a while, I'd erase my profile and start over.

As I said, I may be in the minority in this, but I hope you still get lots of enjoyment out of the game. :D

I definitely did similar things like making my own goals, but I'd love if this new game supplied goals that I didn't make myself. Plus, that way we could get rewards for completing these things.

I hope I get lots of enjoyment too! I mean even if it is short, sure I'll be a little bitter about spending $60, but it is no doubt going to be fun.

One thing I was wondering about, after checking out the new info - it says that you can explore the different spots by day or night. I didn't see much on it, so I don't know if the game will follow your Switch clock or if you'll be able to choose your time after completing the first run.

I'm really excited for this game, I preordered it when it first became available. I loved the first pokemon snap, i remember staying up super late with my friend while we played this game and tried to get the best photos. I've read some of the reviews for the game and it seems to be getting pretty good reviews and I'm really interested in this night and day time photos.. it seems like it will be longer than the first game which is nice.

I was just watching reviews yesterday and they made me so excited! So far it's sounding like this game is going to be as good, if not better than the original.

The implementation of Pokémon becoming more comfortable with you as you frequent each location more and more is such a cool idea and adds so much to replayability. Also, the fact that NPC will give you tasks to complete that help you discover secrets is great too. I imagine there will also be some secrets that NPCs don't help you figure out and you'll just have to learn for yourself.

Overall I can't wait to play this game!

I probably won't be getting it, but I saw some gameplay of it today and some of the resulting pictures were really nice. Looks like a fun relaxing game

Picking this up next week since that's my payday. Reviews seem positive so I'm going to give in and try, only rented the original back in the days so I don't have too much nostalgia going into this game.

I played it for 2 hours last night, and probably another two this morning. I absolutely love it. It does everything the original did, better. It will definitely remain in my rotation as a "turn off your brain and relax" game. Being an amateur photographer in my own life, it's funny just how much I nitpick about the photos I take...and when I do get a good one, it feels great.
