Anyone else struggle to motivate themselves to get things done sometimes? As an example, I meant to post this thread yesterday yet I am only getting around to it today. Instead I spent 10hrs playing Cult of the Lamb instead. Priorities, huh?

Even if no one else jumps on this, I'll still pop in daily.

I need to finish payroll for my employees by the end of the day. I woke up super late and haven't done anything @_@ work from home does that to me, hah

I also need to unpack from my vacation and then do the laundry from that vacation... And possibly go to the gym. Oh boy.

January 4th 2023:
  • write 100 words of fiction (133/100 written)
  • submit 4 job apps (4/4 done)
  • unpack suitcase + do laundry (2/2 done)

I also need to unpack from my vacation and then do the laundry from that vacation... And possibly go to the gym. Oh boy.
Laundry is the devil. I've been home since Monday and only got around to unpacking today. 😅

Ooo, I can get in on this. It’s hard for me to feel productive because after entertaining and caring for a 3 year old all day, at the end of the day I just want to relax. But the stuff needs done.

I’ll start with what I did get done:
Reorganised our catch-all drawer
Straightened up our kitchen (mostly)
Paid a couple bills

What I need to do:
Swiffer
Wipe down surfaces
Vacuum the carpet in the 3 season room, because it’s grown a fur coat like that of a Golden Retriever 👀
Call my OBGYN (I have 5 mins till they close, maybe I’ll do that now.)

ugh I have so many things I need to do. I especially need to do laundry, I'll probably start on that right after I finish typing this 😁

it's been really difficult for me to take responsibility and get things done that need to be done bc I've been struggling really hard w my mental health. I'm hoping my doctor and I can get something figured out soon, even though I know I've been on this wild goose chase for basically a year and a half now. until then I'll just do what I can, and not beat myself up for not being able to do something due to my health.

now that I think about it I know what I need to do this week:
- do laundry
- record a video for my yt channel
- BE KIND TO MYSELFFFF ABOVE ALL ELSE

This is a nice idea for a thread, it often takes me days, if not weeks to build up motivation to work on projects.

Yesterday I finally got my laundry done, all hung up and folded, and I dusted the (vacant) cobwebs from the vaulted ceiling.

Today I sprayed down the ceiling in my soon-to-be home office with hot water and vinegar and started scraping off the popcorn ceiling. It's not going super well as it's been painted over and I've gouged the drywall in some places. About to go back in there and scrape some more again in a minute, wish me luck. 🥲

This is a nice thread idea! Perfect for the beginning of the year! I'll post some weekly goals and repost the results later!

Lets see...
Write 2 paragraphs (0/2)
Call the landscaper
Order meds
Work on business plan

This could be very helpful. I'll start by posting the things I'd like to have done by the end of the weekend.

Complete by Jan 8: (ordered by priority)
1. Send the instruction manual for the waterfall shower to the plumber.
2. Activate new debit card.
3. Go by the bank and deposit Christmas money.
4. Finish putting the Christmas stuff away.
5. Wash the sheets and comforter.
6. Clip my nails.

Complete Jan 5:
1. Order my dog's calming treats and dental bones.

  • write 100 words of fiction (0/100)
  • book travel for next week (0/1)
  • meeting with work coach (0/1)
  • attend webinar* (0/1)
  • go to barber (0/1)

*I won't hate myself too much if I fail this one as there's a good chance I won't make it home in time. Plus they've confirmed they're recording it. If so catching up on that will be pushed to tomorrow.

I also need a haircut today
My mother has been pestering me for weeks now so I might as well finally get it done

I need to call my landlord to follow up on when the boiler is going to be fixed

Need to go to big Tesco to get food (healthy food only! No junk food)

God bless this thread.

Things to accomplish by tonight:
  • LEARN GOITER DIFFERENTIALS AND THEIR HISTOLOGY
  • study the role of hypoalbuminemia post-thyroidectomy
  • study the parts of the tympanic membrane and intranasal cavity (through rhinoscopy)
  • re-study the anatomy of the neck (triangles, borders of the lymph node levels, recurrent laryngeal nerve, superior/inferior thyroid artery etc.)

First two are priority. Actually just the first is bare minimum.
Also. I have to wake up at 5:30 AM because they're making me go to the ER lmao. Need to be asleep by maybe 1 AM.

Lol this thread is perfect. My main (current) goals:

Take down christmas trees/decorations.
Pay bills
File annual guardian papers with court
Order stuff for 2023 gardening
Organize disaster of a sewing area
Massive amount of yardwork to catch up on
(Should work on that every day in order to have it done in 5 years. It's pretty bad...)
Find caregiver for family member
Seriously- put up the holiday decorations. We can't have them still up on Valentine's Day, again. Adding hearts and calling it a "valentine tree"....not gonna work this year.

This is a great thread idea!

My partner and I just moved house so everything is still everywhere. It's bothering me but boy is it overwhelming.
-Buy new bedframe and headboard
-Buy new sidetables x2
-Organize living room
-Set up all gaming consoles
-Get a keepsake box for him
-Clean out walk in closet
-Finish organizing bathrooms x2
-Finish gathering everything we don't want into a corner
-Dispose of the stuff we don't want
-Return current sidetables and printer to his mother

To do by tonight, will be extremely difficult due to seasonal depression but I gotta do it.

  • Put some invoices in for work.
  • Follow up with boss for payroll.
  • Shower.
  • Clean up the room a little bit.
  • Finish putting away laundry.
Being organized is hard when you're not used to it XD

thank you for this thread!!!!! gonna start small here...

To do by end of day January 5:
  • Clean the clutter off my table
  • Take out the recyclables from my room and put them in the collection bin
  • Put bag of yarn back in closet

January 5th 2023
  • write 100 words of fiction (100/100)
  • book travel for next week (1/1)
  • meeting with work coach (1/1)
  • attend webinar (0.5/1) → catch-up on the first half Jan 6th
  • go to barber (0/1) → do before Jan 9th
