For February 14th, 2023:
  • Go to barber
  • Wash bedsheets
  • Pack suitcase + collect train tickets for 15th/16th
  • Don't forget Valentine's gifts!! (0/2)

Really the only thing I am trying to do is find a way to get old metal more shiny and take off the blemishes/patina. It just doesn't look that nice and all of the methods I have tried have had limited results or none lol. So really I guess I haven't been that productive with this, but I have been trying. I just don't have many good results to show for it.

Also need to exercise today.
Took me almost a month, but I finished restoring all of the old antique metal on the chest.

Now I need to get back in gear with writing. Kind of put it on the backburner when I was putting in the final stretch for this chest restoration project.

Personal Goals:
- Clean my desk and office chair
- Clean and organize vanity (In Progress!)
- Clean and organize linen closet

Might not make much progress tomorrow because my goal for the day is just to have a fun day out with my husband. 💞

This is a nice idea for a thread, it often takes me days, if not weeks to build up motivation to work on projects.

Yesterday I finally got my laundry done, all hung up and folded, and I dusted the (vacant) cobwebs from the vaulted ceiling.

Today I sprayed down the ceiling in my soon-to-be home office with hot water and vinegar and started scraping off the popcorn ceiling. It's not going super well as it's been painted over and I've gouged the drywall in some places. About to go back in there and scrape some more again in a minute, wish me luck. 🥲
Over a month later, and with more than a little help from my sister and fiance, I'm finally done scraping. Next I'll have to sand all the spots where the paper ripped off the sheet rock. We went to Home Depot and got some sanding sponges today, will get started on it tomorrow!

As soon as I saw the whole spraying ceiling thing, I knew what you were doing. That stuff sucks, so good job! A lot of people don't realize the work involved when they get into it and then call someone else to finish it cause it's just too much effort.

Sanding, spackling, and, reapplying drywall tape is also a pain. Good luck with your renovations! I just did my garage last year and it had never been painted/touched up. Doing that kind of work when you're looking up is killer on the arms and back. Not to mention the dust.

It's probably too late now, and you probably have done so, but wear a dustmask when you are doing this.

Personal Goals:
- Clean my desk and office chair (DONE! Not completely, but I finished with the main work space which was my goal.)
- Help my husband put together my new bookcase (DONE!)
- Wash my dog's beds and blankets
- Sort old towels to keep/trash
- Wash, fold, and put away towels
- Clean new bookcase and arrange shelves

Made some good progress today! If I don't do anything else during this long weekend except wash my dog's beds, I'll be happy.

Work Goals: (Not required until Tuesday, but I may do some prep work before then.)
- Validate this weekend's implementation
- Prep emails for letter review
- Complete letter review
- Complete security training (Due ?)
- Complete diversity training x2
- Catch up on emails
