Productivity & Accountability Thread

As soon as I saw the whole spraying ceiling thing, I knew what you were doing. That stuff sucks, so good job! A lot of people don't realize the work involved when they get into it and then call someone else to finish it cause it's just too much effort.

Sanding, spackling, and, reapplying drywall tape is also a pain. Good luck with your renovations! I just did my garage last year and it had never been painted/touched up. Doing that kind of work when you're looking up is killer on the arms and back. Not to mention the dust.

It's probably too late now, and you probably have done so, but wear a dustmask when you are doing this.

Thanks! It's for sure a ton of work, this is one of the last rooms in the house left, and one of the smaller ones so the worst is behind me. Though my bedroom has high vaulted ceilings so when I do that it'll be an ordeal too.

We all wore masks and luckily my house was built after the time they used asbestos so we should be good. :)

Just finished painting the first layer on the ceiling, it's not perfect but that's what glow stars are for.

Edit: Here's some progress pictures I took.

The first layer and primer never hides it all. So after the second coat it will look great! I know when I had to do my garage (that had never been done) and had to reapply tape, it was an ordeal. But your project is on a whole different level. You did amazing. You should give your shoulders and back a rest.

Oof, good luck with your main bedroom. If you were close, I'd let you borrow my scaffolding for that.

I applied the last coat of polyurethane to my antique steamer/treasure chest. It's currently drying in my garage. So with that, this project that was on and off for 2 years is finally complete. Well except for the shelf that I am making for the top half of it.

Congrats on your treasure chest project, it sounds sick! :)

I cant say ive exactly ben productive this month in the way people would like me to be - in the sense of completing school work - BUT that is not to say I havn't had an extremely productive month.

- I moved 70 miles from my old town to London, and also completed all of the work that went along with that like organising how I will finish college, sorting out tenancy forms, working out employment and of course the physical task of moving itself. Its still not completely done but the bulk of my moving problems are sorted.
- I went back to college after taking a couple weeks out due to stress from moving making my mental health pretty bad. When I went back I did an exam, attended a few classes and made a start on my coursework that I need an A on. Its still a long way from being done but I'll get there.
- I spoke to my mum more than once this month. Thats productive in-and-of itself.
- I sent a number of very important emails over the past few days

and I dont know if this counts but
- Everyday for four days Ive cooked dinner instead of eating takeaway or snacks. That feels productive.

The room has now been painted and the trim put back on the wall and touched up. It's coming together so well. My fiance is working on wiring the house with Ethernet cables, so when he's done with that I can finally start moving my desk and art supplies in. I'm now going to be waiting on a folding table from Amazon for my sewing machine.
Now I unfortunately must organize all of my art supplies into bins, and clean out the garage.
