My girlfriend is frantically refreshing every piece of animal crossing news she can find and she found screenshots on facebook from people who clearly have the update already! all screenshots look to be in french or spanish so safe to say maybe some european countries are able to download? either way, this means the US and other regions should unlock soon!

It unlocks at midnight in everyone's respective timezones! So in several hours on the east coast, it will be unlocked but I certainly won't be awake haha

Yep, it seems to be based on time zones. It was midnight in both Spain and France. I'm guessing most of Europe has the DLC available now, except for the UK and Portugal, who I guess will get it in a few minutes

I tried it, and I'm not sure

Changing your region will not work. If you bought the game in UK, then the game relies on UK time. If you bought it in the US, then it's US time.

In this case, US will have to wait until 12am EST.

I think you need to have a bank card from the region you want to set it to for you to be able to do that.

EDT/EST, it's both Eastern Time. Then it's less than 4 hours left.
I live in the Philippines, but my system and games are all NA region. So I have to wait until NA gets it.

12am ET is 12pm for me.

I just looked it up and according to this source Animal Crossing NH Happy Home Paradise DLC: content, date & price it said this:

" As part of the 2.0 update, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is also receiving the Happy Home Paradise on the same day. The release date is November 5th (in the US it will be available on the 4th around 9 p.m. EDT due to the time difference with Japan)."
