if Kat had flipped town/maf, what information would've been gained? most people voted for her, so voting patterns wouldn't be that helpful. your idea that seeing what the role name would flip is pointless. and kat hadn'tt interacted with many people save teddy. she was actually pretty reserved. so if kat is maf, who are her teammates? if kat is town, what does that prove given that she was the only strong wagon? think of either scenario and tell me what information you would've gone out from the flip
why do you think lynching volt wouldn't have provided as much information as kat? volt was engaging with quite a few players
Yeah, but I didn't expect everyone to pile onto Kat with no counterwagon, did I? I was expecting some opposition and we would get information for that once Kat did flip. That was where I was planning to find her potential teammates if she flipped mafia. Instead we got no counterwagon and no flip.
i honestly need to go back and ISO her posts, i've been busy today w a work thing but will try to do it this evening. my overarching impression of her at the moment is that she's doing a lot of parroting which she's trying to pass off as helpful. it seems like a lot of the time when an idea/theory is put forward, there's a subsequent post by dinotown sometime afterwards being like 'oh well now that you say that..' and it's just latching onto other people's ideas without actually contributing much. not sure how suspicious i find this because i think she's possibly put off by the heat that was on her at the beginning of the game and is maybe being a bit more reserved about what she's posting. again, i'll ISO and make an actual post about this in a bit. i also think i'm biased bc frankly her playstyle just really annoys me lol

i don't really find kat's questioning of teddy's play style to be unusual. teddy made some very off claims like trusting everyone before suspecting them and staying reserved for the long run, and I think any experienced player like kat (and even me) would've called him out on that [/UNQUOTE]
wasn't referring to the questioning of teddy's play style, talking about the seemingly random and arbitrary questions about the mechanics of the werewolf board game that he's used to (back at the very start of d1)
just seemed like a lot of attention to give just one of many new players for no discernible reason
Damniel said:
its odd you single out volt while players like bell and bianca arguably had even less of a presence at this point [/UNQUOTE]
bc bell and bianca weren't posting at all, there's a difference between inactivity and coasting. volt was posting just enough to be considered active, but wasn't actually saying anything
Damniel said:
epona is the first one to bring up toads OP which is good evidence to try to stop the pointless theme conversation [/UNQUOTE]
this is immaterial but i actually brought up toads' OP multiple times before the quote you used which is why it's capitalised there. was getting really frustrated that nobody would listen to me (but yes i was the first to mention it)
sorry about the bootleg homemade quotes
anyway, i don't really see why you're quoting voltairenism's posts and analysing them as if they're a different player altogether. you replaced their slot and it doesn't matter how different your playstyles are you still have the same role that they randed.
it just seems like a very theatric attempt to distance yourself from whatever mistakes you think they made/red flags they set off when i think you should just be taking it on the chin and moving on from it instead of making excuses for them
like of course you're going to argue that volt was just an overwhelmed noob townie lol what's the point in even making that observation? you're defending yourself as much as anything else
take it as a slip if you want, but I can promise you it was a legitimate typo lol

I haven't really read the thread much, but I brought up more than just Kat giving up as a reason to lynch her. Her posts were unhelpful and she wasn't hunting for mafia, instead resorting to belittling a new player and justifying it as "teaching". Then she role claims. I still don't think she was town even though we apparently aren't going to know for sure until end of game, but you must understand there were many reasons to vote her. I believe the reason for no counter wagon was because she was third party.
Regarding information from a lynch: pretty much nobody dying would have given us very much information. It was a D1 lynch and there really wasn't much to read into.
Regarding my lack of push on voltairenism: I stuck to Kat because I had a feeling that if she was mafia, she would be more of a priority than voltairenism, who I was not 100% sure about in the first place and seemed new to the game.
I do find it annoying that the only people criticizing the end of day votes are the people who weren't even there. I understand busy schedules and whatnot but it is honestly really annoying to see someone who wasn't even there pick up a "holier than thou" attitude about how the day went.
Dino and Trundle would mean we've got top-tier actors on both sides I don't read that as theater.
Trundle in general...I liked what I saw in his readslist and he -was- a voice of reason about certain things this far, but the only moments I dislike was the vote justification and not really going in on analyzing everyone, but (forgive me cause y'all will hate this) that's still in his town-range, meta-wise. But I am trying to not anchor myself on that because it's been some time since I've seen him wolf. Quite some time. I'm not currently there on a wolfread yet.
Dino I will try and give a quick ISO on because the EoD didn't impress me.
Volt actually had some posts and stances that felt like a townie would have and they questioned what I wanted to question and Dan replaced in and had some moments I wasn't the greatest fan of but I will also put getting around to his larger post on the to do list. Work is gonna pick back up in speed for a bit.
Life sucks rn I miss the good old normal. Frick the new normal.
You know it's posts like this from you that makes me pull you back into the null category. Trundle's reads list was okay but it was the bare minimum. And if you actually ISO his posts they are actually pretty bare. He barely posts if at all, and when he does he's usually very distanced from anything that was currently happening, like a bystander. And he gets away with it why? It's not hard for scum to sound reasonable on D1, but staying involved would be harder, and I'm not seeing his involvement at all.
When he replies he doesn't even quote or remember who said what to him. This flippant attitude is making me very wary of his alignment. I've seen his wolf-meta and his meta this game is pretty similar imo. I would keep an eye on him D2 and I will back off if I see more involvement from him.
It's funny because you were town with him in the last game and failing to see how different his play style is in this game compared to the last one is making me kinda sus.
Also I hope things go well for you in real life Geoni.
Honestly I agree with Seroja. I don’t think Kat was town. I’m guessing third party which may be why we were all getting such weird vibes from her.
Regarding the lack of counter-wagon: I was actually going to suggest a Voltairenism counter-wagon but everyone was discussing role names which was incredibly frustrating to me. I feel like it’s pretty much every day that someone who I won’t name leads the discussion down a completely useless path that adds absolutely nothing to the game and I just gave up. Call me tilted or bad, I’m honestly just annoyed.
This sounds like a poor excuse for not making an effort and I don't like it. Just saying that roleclaiming is bad is something that even scum can do and it proves nothing to me. Just doing the bare minimum as I've pointed out above. You're usually very passionate so giving up sounds pretty out of character for you. If you're really town then I would like to see more from you.
Okay, now that you've mentioned it, it is actually a very odd coincidence that Antonio specifically talks about and asks us about information to be gotten from lynches only for it to turn around that we have no information after lynching.
I'd kinda brushed that under the rug because answering the question helped me decide what the best vote to place was, a.k.a I found it helpful, but now we've already had a lynch and are still left with nothing... Antonio might have been counting on the fact that people would just ignore it, because it was a question that helped get thoughts in order.

only if more people starting to vote for someone else. like a blitz voted. there were some late votes not on kat but non where strong or convincing to others to join them. so no strong counterwagon

I generally have a different playstyle every game regardless of alignment. Many would say my playstyle last game as town was similar to my mafia playstyle, some wouldn't. Depends what games you have played with me.

i quoted volt bc i still don't really get why they were scum read to much. like kat and volt are the only ones that were widely sussed but i really only get kat's lynch. people seem to still be sus of me because of my past slots behavior so im trying to rationalize it as much as i can. i can't explain why volt did certain things but im hoping people can see that volt may have been doing things from a town perspective; instead of just labeling me scum bc of volt and the fact that he subbed out
Alrighty, I am online and ready to play. I'll be honest, all this sus on me is frustrating to the point I want to break the rules in order to make a ****ing point to scum so I need to take a few deep breaths after I post this before I ever reach that point.
First of all, Damniel came in here and is susing me based on what others said. @epona came at me early in day 1 for restating what others have said, how does that differ between me and damniel?
Second of all, my role fits. My role is regarded to cleaning off bugs from deers and such. Therefore, it fits. How does Donald Trump fit regarding cleaning compared to the other roles? The case still stands.
Finally, I wouldn't be this ****ing obvious as mafia. I would let others **** themselves up, not **** myself up.
This is what is going to happen. I am against being lynched day 2 but if I must, I will vote myself off to prove a point. I would even post my role image after I die to prove a point that mafia was targeting me. So, Let's GOOOOOO.

Sorry, I'm getting pissed.

I stick by my statements that there's an obvious pattern regarding roles. The role names might differ, but the rules never state that the pattern can be similar.

toads literally says he has a convoluted story as to why role names don't have clear links to their roles. why are you still so fixated on this? it doesn't matter. in a game where a bird, a brand mascot, the CDC, a rubber duck, the president, and a bacteria are all possibly in the game, its clear that looking into role names is pointless

I'm saying that I find it very odd that Antonio talks specifically about voting for who gets us the most information and encourages us to discuss what info can be gotten from what vote, and then at the end of it, we get a no flip and no information.
At the same time, I'd like to give Antonio more credit than that. It's weird, but I think if Antonio knew that the mafia team was looking to wipe someone, they wouldn't decide to go and so explicitly say "let's talk about which lynch gets us the most information - a.k.a the worst lynch to suddenly be wiped"
If we say the janitor is in the mafia and so knew there would be no flip, then mafia wouldn't be voting elsewhere to save mafia!Kat because they had clearly already decided to sacrifice Kat - I'd imagine the choice to wipe Kat occurred around the same time Kat made her last post, not any later.
If Kat was town or third party, then choosing to wipe Kat could have occurred at any time, but still, mafia would feel safe voting for Kat because it would make it harder to pick out the mafia from everyone on the Kat wagon. Any counterwagon, in that case, would more than likely have been at least started by a townie, which makes it weirder that there wasn't - unless Kat had convinced everyone else they were mafia to the same level she convinced me.
This, to me, lends stronger to the idea that Kat was actually mafia, because in the case of mafia!Kat, no counterwagon can make sense, but less so in town!Kat.
what do you mean, though? it sounds like you're asking me why I'm acting like the janitor is in the mafia. where else are they gonna be? I don't see the janitor being town-aligned or third party. If you're asking me something else, can you please explain what you're asking because I'm not sure I know what you want to know.
trying to find a pattern with role names also leaves the possibility for maf to use those role names to figure out a pattern for blues. finding a pattern this early is harmful for us. leave role names till near the end when PoE kicks in if you're so adamant to
