I think the Detectives can work well hidden or visible. Especially if they have connections made, with other Town members. Which is why I say, it is not necessary for them to reveal themselves unless they see fit or feel 100% confident. It just means any message towards the Detectives would have to be made publicly in the thread and they need to remember Mafia is reading & are ready to interfere.

I think the detectives should remain hidden, unless the mayor or sheriff makes it known that they want contact from the detective.

It's fine to just say that _____ is mafia but it isn't a good move. Yes, the best say is to just keep it secret.

Detectives have to work to leave hints / trails of the information they find for the Town to work with. They have to guide us subtly (so they do not become Mafia targets themselves). Obviously if they push too hard they'll be called out as potential Mafia (look at what happened with me pretty much).

Another thing they can do is try to weed out true Town players & form connections with them, for support. Not necessarily having to role-claim to everyone or anyone for that matter.

I completely agree. Which is one of the main reasons I did not ask for them to contact me beforehand. We need to keep them safe as they are the only ones who will actually be able to help us in any way.

You mean Paramedic, but there's no real difference. Ace posted a lot and was considered suspicious. He was between a rock and a hard place. That's why we should focus on the lurkers, or at least get info out of them.

I'm curious to know why you still think that I am Mafia when I'm clearly not.

And towards Kippla, Fireninja1 and FoxWolf64, some reasons why some people deemed me as suspicious is because I went off topic at one stage and I said a lot of unnecessary crud. I also wasn't really a "team player". Last game was my first ever Mafia game so I didn't even consider writing my posts appropriately. And of course, Lauren wants me dead because she loves me too much. (As mentioned in the irc.)

It's only if you post a bunch of pointless posts that gets suspicious. However, if you post over the top then it gets suspicious.

Agreed, she's lurking on the thread without posting moreso than anyone else. I think Dolby should be inspected more since he/she is being so quiet (although it could be because Thanksgiving)
