Team Cheer Creations Thread
Four teams, Team Blue, Team Green, Team Red, and Team Purple, have gathered in their perspective home base at The Bell Tree World Championship. Excitement is brewing, controllers are getting shined (hey, don't throw them), and everyone is gearing up for a busy two weeks of preparing strategies, practicing, and going head-to-head in various friendly and competitive gaming sessions to earn points for a spot on the leaderboards and aim for those eye-catching prizes to celebrate their accomplishments.

However, no team is complete without encouragement and team spirit to drive them. The Team Cheer Creations Thread is your first stop to submit your creative works to cheer your team from May 8, 2021, to May 23, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. EDT!

How to Submit 🎨

You may submit up to one audio/visual creative work and one text-based creative work in this thread per day, for a maximum daily total of six points. Additional daily submissions will not be accepted by your team captains. Once you've made a post here, you will need to make a post within your team's submission thread on your team board with a link to your post. Submissions will not be reviewed and accepted within this thread.

Each day for your two maximum daily submissions ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Red Team:
Red Team War Room / Points Redemption Station
Blue Team: Blue Team Mission Control / Points Redemption Station
Green Team: Green Team Headquarters / Points Redemption Station
Purple Team: Purple Team Command Post / Points Redemption Station

Types of Creations 🎨

This time, you have more free reign for how you support your team.

Examples of audio/visual creative work include:
  • Cooking (desserts/baking, beverages, edible arrangements)
  • Hand-drawn or digital drawings/painting
  • Animation, video
  • Dances
  • Crafts (papercraft, sculpting/modeling, knitting, crochet, metalwork, cards)
  • Make-up or nail art (team colors)
  • Creating a song/singing your own song (TBT username must be spoken somewhere during this)
  • Game-based submissions from Animal Crossing: New Horizons only (e.g.: team uniform) or team-themed room/outdoor design
Examples of text-based creative work include:
  • Songs (minimum of three verses)
  • Poetry (minimum of three stanzas, though the Haiku form of poetry, is also acceptable)
  • Prose (minimum of 250 words)
Regardless of what you choose to create, each submission is worth three points.

Submission Guidelines 🎨

  • Your forum username must be visible somewhere on your submission - whether directly on/in the work itself or on a separate notecard beside the physical creation unless you are submitting a screenshot of your room/outdoor design in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  • You may only submit a maximum of one audio/visual creative work and one text-based creative work per day
  • All submissions must be your own work. You may use craft supplies; however, you may not use pre-made components such as pre-existing animation, stickers, pre-made songs, art/character renders, etc.
  • A reasonable amount of effort must be put into your creations. Those that appear rushed or submitted jokingly will not be accepted
  • Keep all creations appropriate for a PG-13 audience
Frequently Asked Questions 🎨

Q: Am I allowed to edit my post?
A:
Feel free to edit your post for spelling/grammar mistakes or other minor changes (e.g.: including TBT username) within this thread. However, once you've submitted a link to your post in your team's submission thread and it has been accepted, further edits will not be recognized.

Q: Am I allowed to submit the same type of creative work?
A:
Yes, if you made a drawing one day, you could make a different drawing the next day as long as the concept/design are unique from one another (e.g.: you should not be submitting the same drawing or a slightly modified version of one of your previous submissions over multiple days)

Q: Would I be able to create a Mii as a creative work?
A:
No, team captains will not accept Mii creations as creative works

Q: What counts as nail design?
A:
There would need to be elements beyond a solid painted color to qualify as acceptable nail art (e.g.: painted patterns, shapes. characters).

Q: What is considered reasonable effort?
A:
You wouldn't necessarily need to be spending hours upon hours on your creation, but it should be apparent that thought and effort have gone into your work(s). For example, a detailed sketch of a favorite villager cheering your team on with pom-poms or a team banner would be suitable for a hand or digitally drawn work or a Haiku poem would be acceptable for poetry. Chants/cheers in addition to one-liners for poetry would not be acceptable.

Have fun, and cheer daily!

How much work should we be expecting to put into each piece of art? Is it like the past art events where we should be putting a lot of effort?

It should be apparent that you've tried/put some thought into it, but it's not something you'd be expected to spend hours upon hours on like you may in a traditional art contest with staff favorites/prizes attached. For example, a somewhat detailed sketch of a villager with red pom-poms would be fine!

Hi everyone! There's been a slight update to our thread regarding "chants and cheers". This was from an earlier draft of the OP that has since been updated and removed. I've deleted some of the earlier posts so there is no confusion that these can be accepted.

Examples of text-based creative work include:
  • Songs (minimum of three verses)
  • Poetry (minimum of three verses)
  • Prose (minimum of 250 words)

We'll now be looking for longer works for the text-based participation points. Your text-based submissions should be more than a couple one-liners! Thanks!

i’ve got a quick question. this probably isn’t allowed but i was wondering if making something for your team in animal crossing would count as visual creative work? for example, making a team uniform design or designing a room at harvey’s island (ex. team headquarters)? hopefully this makes sense lol.

Does painting my nails plain purple count as creative work? o: I know "nail art" is on there but I'm not capable of doing intricate designs or anything so they would literally just be plain purple 😂

Brought this up for a quick discussion with staff: designing a uniform or team room in Animal Crossing: New Horizons would qualify as a visual creative work, yes!
One more thing, does mii creation count? Like really creative miis?
No, Mii creation would not count as a visual creative work.

Unfortunately, team captains would be unable to accept a plain color. Nail art is considered the addition of design elements beyond the solid color.
Can we do the same type of art more than once, ex. can I paint a different design on my nails each day?
As long as the concept and design are different, this would be fine (it would be similar to submitting a different poem or drawing each day).

I will go ahead and update the main post's FAQ for clarity on these. :)
