The Anime Thread

I've been meaning to watch more anime while I work on crochet related projects.. but I'm not sure which to watch >_> I have a pretty hefty list that I want to get through, but I've felt so discouraged lately, lol.

I want to finish MASHLE S2.. but I also want to keep going with Attack on Titan.. since I was planning on watching it; watched 7 episodes, then stopped, lmao. I also want to watch Frieren, DAN DA DAN, and Delicious in Dungeon.. so many animes, but so little motivation -.-

Up to episode 10 of Samurai Champloo now. Episode nine was uh, really something, lol (that one part where Mugen was fighting the head rebel leader dude and it just kind of cut to trippy colors made me do a double take  ).

I am back from my (somewhat brief) hiatus to update my anime-watching progress on this... I am now up to episode 19 of this show, and still really loving it. Some of the episodes can get pretty intense, and then there's some episodes that are just insanely funny. Episode 18 was really great and Mugen's interactions with the reading instructor were downright hilarious.

For some reason Crunchyroll has it listed improperly as "War of the Worlds" though instead of "War of the Words." Not sure who messed that up, but I went into it thinking it was going to be much more serious than it was.

Still have about eight episodes left in the show to go, but my pace has slowly but surely picked up, so shouldn't take me much longer. Also, apparently the baseball episode is right before the three-part final arc, so I'm looking forward to that as well.

Will be back later to post another recap on Tower of God S2. ✌️

It's time to continue to ascend the tower! Tower of God season two... is here! 🪜

Rak visits Viole/Baam for a bit, but has to quickly leave so that they aren't found out. The Development Tournament and battle between Team Mad Dog and Team FUG both begin. Wangnan runs into some tricky foes, but with Khun's guidance is successfully able to defeat them and advance in the tournament, as well as summon more allies.

However, Novick and Kang Horyang find out that Team Mad Dog and Team FUG have been working together to try and get Viole/Baam to activate the ultimate weapon. The mysterious man from before corners Viole/Baam and seriously injures him. Will the others be able to rescue Viole/Baam in time?

Next time on Tower of God season two, episode twenty-one. "The Beginning of Dawn." You won't want to miss it! (y)

Up to episode 22 of Samurai Champloo now and nearing the end. The two-part episode I just watched was pretty intense. Was not expecting that twist. The words Jin told to Mugen might have just helped him upgrade his fighting style. I mean, if the opponent had followed through he would be dead, but I do have to wonder how that'll play out in the last episodes of the series.

Got another episode and then the baseball episode left before the three-part finale. Looking forward to it!

Finished episodes 22 and 23 of Samurai Champloo. Episode 22 was kind of creepy, but I do recall seeing some of it years ago on Toonami or something, so I wasn't that surprised by it. Episode 23, the baseball episode, however, was DOWNRIGHT HILARIOUS. I thought that they were going to have an actual final pitch and a whole nine innings, but nope, everyone just gets injured. I don't think that would fly in today's MLB. :ROFLMAO:

I just have three episodes left, which is the finale for the show. Really, really excited for it and to see how it concludes. Whether it's a happy or sad ending, I don't really mind as long as it's good. Once I finish this and Tower of God S2 wraps up, I'll only have Mashle S2 on my watchlist. If I don't find any news of seasonals coming back soon, I may pick up another older show to binge.

Finished part 4 of Pokemon Horizons, really enjoyed it, excited to see what happens next whenever the next part comes out! It's such a good series :)

I'm back on Disney+. I think they took off Black Lagoon, I'm not sure if anything else was removed. They only uploaded half of it when it was one there.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't removed due to not fitting the wholesome Disney image since they just added Seth Rogan's Sausage Party. Madoka Magica is still on there.

By the way, Black Lagoon is about a group of mercenaries doing what they do. Contain guns, blood and I don't think I can find a clip without swearing.

I haven't been watching and keeping up with much anime and manga recently, but I'm still reading Toilet Bound: Hanako-kun and Bungou Stray Dogs. They're the only two I've been keeping up with for a good long while now, but a few days ago a friend of mine recommended Dandadan to me, and I really like it. I binged the first eight episodes in one sitting, which I find amazing, since I usually hate watching anime because of voices, animations, taking too long etc. I actually watched the eighth episode before he did, and he recommended it to me 🤣

I finished Samurai Champloo!

The last three episodes were pretty intense. Not going to lie, as soon as Jin was thought to be initially dead, I KNEW he would come back. I am really, really, REALLY over the moon happy that Fuu got to meet the sunflower samurai, her dad, before he was killed.

I do have to say I wasn't expecting Mugen and Jin to both survive as well, but I'm glad they did. Although I would have been fine with it if they died there, so long as those guys that attacked them were taken out as well. I have to wonder how an ending where only Fuu survives would have fared, and how it would affect the show's ratings.

The ending song is dope. Nuff said.

And now it's time for everyone's FAVORITE segment, it's time for an anime... in review! Samurai Champloo combines elements of both darkness and light, seriousness and laughter, all combining into a final product that is pretty legendary in its own right. The story is actually really good and the transition between episodes is nice as well. The characters are also enjoyable, and the fight scenes are really well done too. Not to mention the OST for the show is a banger. Samurai Champloo comes searing in at a perfect 10/10 on the anime scale. To rate it anything less would be dare I say, dishonorable. Here's to you, Mugen, Jin, and Fuu. Thanks for one heck of a ride. ;)

It's time to continue to ascend the tower! Tower of God season two... is here! 🪜

Viole/Baam is taken hostage by the mysterious man known as Beta, and risks dying if the ultimate weapon is activated. Meanwhile, everyone learns the truth that Viole is actually Baam, even Shibisu, much to their surprise. Khun and Shibisu's teams work together and devise a plan to both win the tournament and save Baam. It will require the FUG scout, Novick, and Kang Horyang to free Baam, however, so that Khun's team can summon him per Workshop Battle rules.

Now, with their friend's life on the line, will Khun's strategy work?

Next time on Tower of God season two, episode twenty-two. "Their Workshop." You won't want to miss it! (y)

I'm about to watch the ninth episode or Dandadan. I heard from a friend that it was very strange, but no spoilers otherwise. I mean I'd argue it's strange all the time lmao. Can't wait to watch it when I get home!

Just watched the movie Mononoke: The Phantom in the Rain. Check it out if you haven't. It was very visually impressive and interesting, and can't wait for more. I'd also recommend the original series but you can enjoy the movie without having seen it.

the new Ave Mujica trailer....😥😥 what could possibly happen in this anime..? I am frightened.

oh look, i’m back (*˙ ˘ ˙)♡

  • i first started watching how i attended an all-guy’s mixer but then i wanted more of it so i started reading the manga - it’s so wholesome and i love how each couple’s relationships are progressing!! asagi is definitely my favourite character because he’s such a golden retriever boy and he’s constantly just the ^w^ expression
  • i decided to just bite the bullet and finally read the demon slayer manga and i’ll admit that i fully inhaled that series 🥹🥹 i fully cried during many chapters, all that series does is ever make me cry
  • another manga i picked up after watching the anime is campfire cooking in another world with my absurd skill !! i like how silly and refreshing the story is - sui being my absolute favourite haha
  • still reading that time i got reincarnated as a slime and i’m desperate for more !!!! i know the novel is out there but i can wait for the next chapter 😔 i can’t wait for the new movie and season to come out though (*°▽°*)
