The Anime Thread

Just here to report that I'm about halfway through Mashle S2, and am still really loving this show. Excited to see how the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam goes, and how the season concludes.

After I finish that, all that's left on my watchlist really is the Spy x Family and Haikyuu movies. If anyone has any interesting anime that are either shounen or really good shows otherwise, feel free to recommend some to me!

Here to report that I finished Mashle S2! And now it's time for everyone's favorite segment... time for a season in review!

Mashle season two picks up where the first season left off, with Mash's journey to become a Divine Visionary. Mash has made powerful friends and allies along the way, and has begun to change people's perception of what non-magic users can still contribute in this world. This is evident in beginning of the season when Mash has to confront the current Divine Visionaries and prove himself. Taking a chance on him, some accept him while others don't, but throughout the season Mash continues to prove himself in the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam and his fight with Innocent Zero. The ending of the season also paves the way for future seasons to release with a good cliffhanger as well.

While I can't say I've enjoyed the show as much as Black Clover, which has a similar premise, Mashle does have a lot of good action scenes, a good story, and plenty of funny moments as well. Mashle ranks in at a hot 7/10 on the anime scale. Until next time. See ya!

Ngl that sounds cool ash. Might just give it a watch

I was going to buy a volume of Black Clover to read, but for some reason it was in Polish so I never ended up reading it

Yeah, I'd definitely pick up Mashle if you have the time! I'll admit I'm somewhat biased towards Black Clover since I watched it first and have a lot of nostalgia for it, but Mashle does hold up as a pretty good show. It's honestly just a fun shounen that you can kind of turn your brain off to, would definitely recommend for a cozy evening or when you have nothing else to do for sure.

One more thing, on Disney+, under Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, they have a thumbnail for Diamond is Unbreakable, but the only currently watchable content is Stardust Crusaders. I remember watching parts one and two on there, and saw up to Golden wind available before.

Why?

It's time to continue to ascend the tower! Tower of God season two... is here! 🪜

Wangnan has suffered a bad injury, but his friends in Rak, Yihwa, and another Regular have come to his aid against Beta. While Beta is distracted, Wangnan summons Baam/Viole, and the process for summoning begins. The group holds out against Beta until Baam/Viole is finally summoned. More soldiers arrive and begin to restrain Beta, but Baam/Viole's friends take them out, along with Lero Ro.

However, not everything has concluded yet, as Kang Horyang's group has been eliminated by Reflejo and Team Mad Dog. Planning for the ultimate battle with Baam/Viole, Reflejo puts his next steps into action...

Next time on Tower of God season two, episode twenty-four. "The Cost of Battle." You won't want to miss it! (y)

I’m currently binging Erased. I’m about halfway through the anime and I’m really into it.

I took a bit of a break from anime after watching Eyeshield 21, my all-time favorite anime. Eyeshield 21 doesn’t have a dubbed version, I watched the entire anime with subtitles. As someone who tends to watch dubbed over subbed, that’s how into this anime I was.

Here to report that I just finished watching the Haikyuu movie, Haikyuu!! Battle of the Garbage Dump! And thought it was really great. Not sure it'd break my top 10 favorite anime movies list, but it's close at least.

This movie was really entertaining, if nothing else. As someone who has done martial arts for a long time and never really got far in team sports, I can actually see myself as Kenma if I were to play volleyball. One of my top traits in life is Strategic, so he's probably who I'm most like out of anyone in this show. I think when Hinata finally got to an even greater height to hit the ball, it was over for Nekoma High School. I do have to say I wasn't expecting it to end the way it did, however. I thought for sure they'd become tied in the third set and one of them would have to score two points in a row to win. But if anything, Hinata and Karasuno pushed Kenma to his limits and got him to actually enjoy volleyball, which was nice to see.

I'm not sure how I feel about the next team Karasuno will have to face. They're going to be going up against a school that has someone just like Hinata, and that's scary. Can't wait to watch the next movie once it's finally out!!

Haikyuu!! Battle of the Garbage Dump gets a searing hot 9/10 on the anime scale. Until next time. See ya!

Since nothing is on my watchlist besides the Spy x Family movie (got to wait for my friend to watch that with), and I need a new, older shounen to binge, I have decided to binge the one... the only... Fairy Tail!!!

My friend recommended it to me, coincidentally, and I've heard a lot of good things about it, so I'm going to watch it the whole way through starting with the very beginning! Even though it's 300 and something episodes long, I should be able to handle it given I binged and finished Naruto and Naruto Shippuden before. I expect to be done with the series sometime in mid-to-late 2025. Can't wait to see what this series is all about! 🤩

Has anyone been keeping up with the news of Sony buying Kadokawa? I just saw a youtube video titled something like "deal goes nuclear". I don't have time to watch it at the moment.

I forgot where I left off with that show a while ago, but things got a little repetitive when Hopposai was introduced and it didn't have the same humor. I had been looking forward to seeing his since he was the final boss in a snes fighting game, and he was funny enough in the first movie.

It looks like Disney+ is blocking access to Ranma 1/2 possibly due to location or subscription tier, they were vague and told me to check the website for more info. I have more Ranma on dvd than they have listed. There's three movies and some ovas in addition to the old series.

So far I don't like some of the changes in the new show, so far. One deals with the words used in the localization, of course. Another deals with a specific scene early on that involves Ranma to talk to Akane, only to overhear her complaining. That was changed in the new one and doesn't have the same impact, which is the foundation of their rocky romance.

I'm up to episode nine now of Fairy Tail and REALLY, REALLY loving it so far. The main characters are great, the action is great, the humor is great, and it's a really fun show. Also, my friend and I both have Erza as our favorite character, XD. Can't wait to watch even more! 💚

I’m watching:
Moshuku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation on season 2 episode 5
Naruto Shippuden, on episode 30

And sometimes I let Black Clover play in the background. I’ve already seen it but it’s very motivational and I like having it playing while I’m doing other things and have my Bluetooth headphones on listening to the episodes :)

I've seen some. I've been wanting to watch more, but they just took it off Disney+. How are you watching it?

I'm going to watch ep 10 of Dandadan tonight. I should've watched it yesterday, but I was on a trip that lasted the whole day and they took our phones :/ anyway, I can't wait to get more explanation for the whole thing. I'll probably start reading it in a few weeks
