The METAL thread! \m/

Epica is pretty good too.

Eluveitie

I was never really huge on Epica, to be honest, though I think they're growing on me! Great cover of Sacred and Wild, btw! I love Powerwolf. I never did get around to checking out Eluveitie(as least as far as I can remember). First song sounds promising though, I like it!

Here's a favorite of mine:
Visigoth do a great cover of it, as well!:

Behold! The first real metal band(well maybe 2nd) that I got into! And of course, one of my favorite songs! ;) Very anthemic. <3:

I took my music taste from my dad, who only listens to metal and such.
I don't really know much about genres or sub genres, but I like many bands, old and new.

^Care to share?:) I'm curious!

Sure! Like I said, it might not even be metal, but I do like anything from that type. c:
So excuse me if I am wrong with some!

Starset
Korn
Metalica
Slipknot
Breaking Benjamin

Also some others that probably are sub genre but yesss.
Bring Me The Horizon (their older stuff. Their newer stuff is eh)
Of Mice & Men
Issues (I like their stuff a lot but wouldn't classify them as metal)

^Yeah I'd say most of that is metal, though I'll be honest I've never been huge on alternative/nu metal and metalcore..that being said however I'm far more open-minded about those two sub-genres than I was before and enjoy certain bands from them such as System of a Down, Chevelle, Disturbed, Walls of Jericho, Trivium, Skindred, etc. I'm always willing to give anything a shot!;) Also my sister is a HUGE fan of Starset! Thinking of checking them out myself..

Ooh I love system of a down and disturbed!
I listen to mostly anything as long as I like it.

Same here! Finding new songs and such is super nice! I like seeing what people enjoy ~

youtube helps me find new stuff from their suggestions. Was watching one music vid, saw the thumbnail for a Lord of the Lost vid, thought it looked cool and clicked it. They are now one of my fav bands, thanks to youtube xD

the video in question from my above post is

i thought it looked super interesting. man youtube suggestions are great sometimes.

Then there's these guys:
Elvenking:
Falconer:
(The Lord Weird)Slough Feg:
Not all "pure" folk metal though they do contain elements of them! So thought they'd be worth a mention.:)

I love when metal artists can do accoustic. It is so fantastic. I love both versions.
