The METAL thread! \m/

^The bands you mentioned come from the metalcore and alternative/nu metal crowds(except for Metallica...they're thrash metal) so I guess some recommendations from those would be Chevelle, Protest the Hero, Bullet For My Valentine...and that's about all I can think of for now! I'm not terribly familiar w/ those styles of bands as they tend to be a lot more mainstream-oriented and the stuff I'm into, power, death, thrash, etc. metal..is a lot more underground! If I think of others, though, I'll definitely be sure to let you know!

- - - Post Merge - - -

Come to think of it you MAY enjoy some stuff by Scar Symmetry, Mercenary, Into Eternity, and Soilwork! There's screaming/growling vocals but they're outweighed by the clean ones(most of the time). For Soilwork you'd probably enjoy their last few releases MUCH more than their early stuff!

Aw nice, thanks for the recommendations, I'll go look up some of those bands now.

If those don't suit ya' perhaps some Sevendust, Godmack, Staind, Static-X, Tool, Mudvayne, and Korn will do!

I should really come here more often, I like certain genres of metal.

Anyway, I'm not familiar with all of them. I like the 'lighter' ones, some screaming is okay, not the entire song thou. Like just listening to some of these people scream during the entire song makes my throat hurt thinking about theirs. So far I've heard a few songs from Breaking Benjamin, alot of Starset (really like StarSet, really good) Metallica (love Sandman and Bob Sergers cover of Turn the Page) FFDP, maybe Black Veil Brides, HollyWood Undead, a few others. Anyone reccomend any songs kinda like those?

I also wanna watch all the videos posted here so far.
hmm lemme just throw these at ya:

Poppy recently has gone down the metal scene, it has been amazing. It's basically baby metal.

Can't believe it's been over 11 years since I've listened to this band (also please don't think I worship satan because I don't lol

^I friggin' LOVE Iced Earth, more or less! Their last album, 'Incorruptible', was fantastic!! Definitely check it out if you haven't yet.

Incendairy and Code: Orange are pretty code:

Anyone hear Metallica's S&M2? I think it's amazing and I bought a cd for my dad and he freaking loved it! \m/

In honor of the month of October, here is a spooky track from the one and only, Type O Negative (I know that they have other Halloween-themed tracks, but I'm just going to post one for now):

Type O Negative - Wolf Moon (Including Zoanthropic Paranoia)

six feet under - the rotting

New SFU album is okay. I feel the vocals could have been a lot better. Maybe it was the production used, or Barnes just doesn't give AF anymore lol

Nope, haven't kept up with any of Metallica's latest releases in a long time. I did hear one song on the radio though ("All Within My Hands") and I guess it wasn't too bad.

I like the early Cannibal Corpse albums with Chris Barnes, but I just haven't ever been interested enough to check out any of Six Feet Under's. I have heard one track called "Shadow Of The Reaper" and it was alright though.

Going to post another Halloween-themed Metal track. This time it's from the Italian pioneers of "Horror Metal", Death SS. Raw as hell, but still listenable and enjoyable:

Death SS - Terror
