i feel like i did last year in january ;-; i did get tested twice during that time period, and they both came back negative ?? but i still remember how i felt; i felt horrible, and i was at work when i started feeling the symptoms. the one symptom i strongly remember was the sore eyes, it hurt to move my eyes so bad and i also remember feeling dizzy all the time and even after i felt better i still had dizziness for a few days. but i remember looking up sore eyes and getting covid results lol so thats why i think i had it, my parents tell me i probably got tested too early and just never went back to get another test after feeling bad

Yep, I caught Covid last April, along with my brother. We were feeling pretty sick that day but went to school anyways, and we had to go home by first period because we both took a test and came back positive. (I think my parents caught it later on, seeing that we all live in the same household and all.) I'm double-vaccinated so the symptoms weren't as bad, and I got to stay at home for about a week. I've made sure to sanitize and wear a mask regularly, so I haven't gotten Covid since.

I have a strong suspicion that I caught it once in late January 2022 when my dad was coughing really badly before he had to isolate himself in a separate place. I got very sick along with my sister and mother and it was not a fun experience. I experienced high fever, nausea, vomited a couple of times, and shivering to go along with it. I got tested, but it came back negative... To solidify my suspicions that I caught covid despite a negative result, I lost my sense of taste a week after the symptoms came up and ended up tasting the same nasty taste that I have never experienced in my life before. Thankfully, I managed to make a full recovery a week after my sense of taste went out of wack.

It's quite complicated since my family has a thing or two against vaccines to put it kindly, so I wasn't vaccinated at the time when I got really sick. I'm pretty sure the symptoms would've been less severe if I had taken it. Thank goodness my college that I go to had a policy at the time requiring me to get two shots meaning I had legitimate reasons to tell my parents to get the shots. If I didn't, they'd likely say some stuff that would just make me roll my eyes and feel frustrated, telling me not to get them. But that's a story for another time.

I've never tested positive for Covid but I do believe I had it back in November 2021 as everyone in my office got sick from one another very quickly. We all got had cold like symptoms that knocked us for six for a week at a time before the symptoms would suddenly disappear. This was also around the time that it was revealed in the news that taking Covid tests at home were ineffective if you had visible symptoms of a cold or virus and that only a PCR test would determine whether you had Covid or not.

I've had it twice and both times it was bc my dad gave it to me and my mom, because he refuses to follow CDC guidelines and he's quite unsanitary in general. if it weren't for him I prob would've never had it.

luckily I got vaccinated as early as it was possible for myself, so it didn't hit me that hard, but it still sucked to deal with.

During late November 2021, I was getting ready to go home from college for Thanksgiving break. I was starting to feel very under the weather, with a runny nose and fatigue. My college made every student take an at-home (or at-dorm, more accurately) test before they could leave, I guess to see if anyone needed to quarantine over break? I followed the instructions on mine carefully, and the result came out negative. So I went home, feeling awful but convinced I wouldn't give COVID to my family.

That week, I felt like I was on death's door. I was coughing nonstop, trying to clear my lungs of the mucus that made it hard to breathe. I hardly left my bed, and when I did I was on the couch instead. I skipped Thanksgiving at my aunt's house and watched movies with my dad instead. It was a very unpleasant experience (the sickness, not the movies), and what's worse is the next week when I went back to my dorm, my mom informed me that the whole family tested positive for COVID. Even though my test was negative, I'm pretty sure it was a false result and I did in fact have it. It's lucky I was twice vaccinated at the time, or who knows how much worse it would have affected me. Long story short, I don't have physical evidence that I've had COVID but I likely have.

I selected the idk category.

In January of 2022, the Omnicron variant did grab hold of my family, but I didn’t get it. I went to a testing facility twice that week and the results came back negative. I think that getting the booster shot a week prior helped out a lot.

Since then, I did get sick two more times. However, I strongly suspect that one instance was just a stomach flu.

The second time that I got sick, it hit me really hard. My fever wouldn’t stay below 104. I tried to keep the layers of clothing and sheets to a minimum, but it was hard to do because I kept shivering. That week, I used two of the rapid results. They both showed negative, so I don’t know.

I actually got COVID on Christmas Day 2021, I was experiencing really mild cold symptoms, and since my mum got a bunch of free COVID PCR tests from her job, I took one and it came out positive 🥲 Luckily I had been vaccinated and had my booster jab by then, so I really didn't feel that bad. I'm pretty sure I caught it when I went to the cinema with my friend the week prior.

Anyway it took 10 days for me to test negative despite all of my symptoms going away within a few days 😓

Yes, I had it. - Last year, during Christmas. (Christmas 2021, not 2022).

It wasn't too bad for me. Both myself and my girlfriend at the time had it.

We both only felt sick for around 3-5 days, and it was never much worse than a loss of taste/smell and a bit of difficulty breathing. She had a bit of a fever for one night. I never had a fever. Anyway, this was already after I had two shots...so, I suspect it could have been much worse if I hadn't. - Luckily, we tested for it before Christmas. So, while it was a bummer to miss out on Christmas, at least we didn't end up going anywhere and spreading it to others. We just stayed at her house for the two weeks following diagnosis.

I got it for the first time (to my knowledge) last month. I'm vaccinated and wear a mask in crowded areas but I feel like I got off lucky not getting it until recently since my sister was home sick with it a couple of times and it went around my coworkers when I worked on my campus and again when I first started at my current job. I was kinda worried about it since I have an autoimmune disorder and got sick a lot before the pandemic, but I was also lucky to have pretty mild symptoms.

Surprisingly no, I've never had it. Even in college when my entire house fell sick with covid, every test I took came back negative

Yes, this January. I think it was the third when my symptoms got really bad. Yay, happy new year for me. Took me 5 or 6 days to recover. Body aches, stuffy nose, scratchy throat. Feeling hot but not having much of a fever most of the time. I didn't go to the doctor I just stayed home until that Monday.

I actually have asthma and I'm really glad I didn't have it worse. It felt like a bad flu. If I hadnt been vaccinated I probably would have been on a ventilator or something. If I hadn't worn a mask/not vaccinated in 2020 i might have not survived if I caught it...

I haven't had a booster in a while so I might need one soon btw.

It makes me mad tho because I might have caught it at work where a lot of customers lick their fingers trying to hand me cash. Who knows where their cards have been either. Then they're eating their food while paying for it and licking their fingers again. Ewww. I don't wear a mask anymore (I stopped in 2022) because corona is not bad anymore and I honestly don't think I need it, life's returned to somewhat normal.I just hope it never gets that bad again.

I’m shocked at how many people here voted for no, and shocked I still haven’t caught it myself.

The main person who would catch it is my dad. My mom doesn’t work and I do classes but I don’t have a job right now. I think getting in and out fast rather than lingering around people really DOES make a massive difference with COVID. My dad doesn’t wear masks anymore, but he gets in snd out of stores relatively fast.

I got it last year around Summer. It would had probably been worst if I didn't have the vaccine. It felt like a crappy fever/flu/cold. I spent the first few day(s) sleeping and slowly gained more strength. Had to be off of work for about a week give or take. And when I came back to work, it was brutal just getting through the day since I hadn't fully recovered yet.

I remember picking onions out of my garden because they were ready and I didn't want them spoiling. Just pulling and cleaning (cutting away the roots/leaves) wore me out lol.

I don't think so. I was JUST sick for about a month, pretty badly, but I tested negative 4 times. So that wasn't COVID. I know people close to me have gotten it and I haven't, however I don't go out much so I must just be isolated enough.
This aged super poorly.

I just got a positive test today after being sick for 3 days starting on Saturday, so I've probably had it for longer. This thing is terrible. Fever, chills, body aches, coughing, haven't been sleeping right... I thought I just had the flu.

I got it from my dad's boss. He came to work sick and said he had the flu, so dad assumed it was the flu. Well, his boss got intubated today with COVID so we all tested and everyone came back positive. Not happy at all.

I was able to dodge it until March 2022. I'm pretty isolated at my job, live alone, and followed all the guidelines. But it finally hit my department, and everyone ended up going down over a 2-week period. Some of the guys had mild cases, but a couple others (myself included) were very sick. I was in bed for a full 2 weeks.

The only other time I can remember feeling that sick was back when I got H1N1 (it was the first year they vaccinated against it, but the vaccines were delayed and I got sick before I could get my shot).

I've made sure to be up to date on my boosters and I still use masks. My area is going through another surge, so we aren't out of it yet. But at least when I hear about people catching it, it ends with "they were sick for a week or so" and not "they passed away".

I am about to jinx myself, but no one in my immediate family has had Covid. We’ve been extremely careful because one of us is immune compromised.

much to my surprise? not once.
i'm fully caught up on vaccinations and stuff, but when i lived with my mom still, both her and my sister
got it at the same time. it was a small apartment, so i am VERY surprised i never got it from them.
