Three years on: have you had COVID-19?

Have you had COVID-19?

i got it last year and it absolutely whooped my ass. i'm fully vaxxed thankfully so it didn't do anywhere near as much damage as it could've (i have a chronic respiratory illness/am immunocompromised) but it sucked so i'm hoping i don't get it again anytime soon.

I got it last June. My mom took the test, but I didn’t. I had the same symptoms, though, including this really weird one where flavors actually lasted longer in our mouths. No matter what we ate, the flavors always lingered. It’s ironic considering loss of taste is one of the well known symptoms.

I have managed to avoid it since the start of 2020, i suspected myself and friends had it before there was testing, before they shut the airports down and it was suspected of mixing through the community which was about dec 2019

though everything has seemed to get back to normal im still wearing masks outside and hand sanitizer (70%) and when i attend hospital appointments, its still a mask and distance code in there including normal wards, just no testing.

Just a reminder there is a lot of new Covid Variants popping up, I highly recommend getting a Booster Shot soon. The pandemic is not over despite what the media tries to make you beleive. Keep wearing your mask when going into social areas.

As far as I know I didn't get it, got 3 vaccines, 2 boosters, still wearing a mask and avoid humans in general. My lungs are kinda weak so I'm being careful but my relatives aren't that careful, so I guess we have been lucky so far.

Once around this time last year. I’m honestly still not sure how I got it because I wasn’t working with any Covid positive or symptomatic patients for that week and didn’t go out of the house besides for work. I’m assuming I got it from the break room or something cause our break room is less than ideal

I'm actually surprised that the the poll for having or not having covid is so 50/50. I would've thought that more people would've had it by this point. I guess if you work from home or your day to day life/work doesn't involve you having to be around a lot of different people you're less likely to catch it.

I know I picked it up from work from someone despite my precautions everyday to keep my workstation sanitized and the such.

i haven’t, and neither has anyone that i live with. i haven’t even had a common cold in the last 3 years. not catching covid was easy since i wasn’t leaving my house, and no one was bringing it home. i left my house <10 times between 2020-2021 (didn’t even get out of my car during most of them), and was rarely around people that i didn’t live with. i became fully vaccinated as soon as i could, was masked at all times when out, social distanced etc. it likely wouldn’t have been a big deal if i had caught it, but my parents (and my grandmother, who has since passed) have compromised immune systems, and i couldn’t risk them catching it.

my parents and grandmother were very cautious as well. since my grandmother was so frail and already in poor health, she didn’t go out unless she absolutely had to. my parents only really went out to go grocery shopping, and they followed all the precautions above as well (masks, social distancing, fully vaccinated). we’re not close with extended family nor do we have big social lives, so it was easy to avoid other people. as my mom said: “the perks of social anxiety; i’ve been social distancing for years” 💀

nowadays, i don’t have a job and do school online, so my in-person interactions are still pretty limited to my parents and my neighbours. i go out a lot more often than i did at the height of the pandemic, but i still don’t actually get out of my car much lol. i don’t wear a mask as much (unless i’m in a medical setting) now that the mandates are lifted, but i still keep my hands sanitized, stay 6ft away from others etc.

I don't think I have had it. There isn't any way to know for sure if I've had a asymptomatic case or not. I'm up to date on my vaccinations, so I feel like if I get COVID, I get COVID and there's a good chance I'll have a relatively mild case. I'm not really taking precautions at this point, but I work remotely so that reduces my exposure a lot.

Nope, I haven't had it. I almost always wear masks when going outdoors and I'm fully vaccinated, so even when I was working during the pandemic, I never contracted the virus. Apparently, my mom tested positive for covid last summer, though her symptoms were very mild since she was vaccinated and thus recovered quickly. But even when my mom was sick, I fortunately never got the virus and neither did anyone else in my family. I think it's still important to wear masks in public places and practice clean hygiene, especially during flu seasons when children can easily get sick from their classmates at school and spread their symptoms to others. Like there's currently a flu epidemic in some countries like France, so it's always important to take safety measures for your health.

As we approach the third anniversary of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it's hard not to remember that the release date coincided with the first COVID-19 lockdown. Where I live, we formally went into lockdown three days after the games release. This morning, I've been thinking about how many people in my life have had COVID-19. I can't think of anyone in my day-to-day life who hasn't had it at least once.

Have you had COVID-19?

I managed to dodge it for two years but eventually caught it in March 2022. It caused me to miss the final week of an intensive in-person 4-week bioinformatics course. I still passed but definitely not with the grades expected.
I had it once, except I didn't show any symptoms or even felt anything. I felt fine and i wasn't sick the whole time.

Yeah, and I was surprised because I wear double masks every day (surgical mask + KN95). Well, I work in a hospital so I guess it was bound to happen. I just don’t know where I specifically got it since I live alone, maybe in the cafeteria when I took off my mask to eat. : ( My friends say maybe I was with someone who was sick but outside the hospital, my bf is the only one I see regularly and he didn’t have any symptoms.

Glad to be fully vaccinated since the hospital required us to. My symptoms were kinda moderate, not too bad but also I was bed ridden for a day or two. It sucks because I missed a week of duty work and they’re making me make up for it.

I may have caught it because of my retail job but I've never experienced any symptoms so I wouldn't bet my life on never having it but I don't feel like I have.

You can pick something up just about anywhere. I work in a warehouse and since I was a caretaker for someone I had to be very vigilant about it all. Not just for covid, but anything I could pick up and give to them.

People would just go over to my workstation where I had a paper towel dispenser and blow their nose all over my desk. Like legit snot and spit all over it. Had to sanitize it after them so many times that I just ripped it off the wall and put it in a box far away where they can blow their nose and get their gunk wherever they please. You probably picked it up from someone like that without even knowing it. Seriously this pandemic made me realize how disgusting and immature people are. You're a grown-butt adult, act like it lol.

Yeah, I have... the worst part is, I was literally feeling great, then i tested positive and i started having ALL the symptoms. so i was just like, wow. just wow, covid. it was really weird tho lol.

I probably had it super early on but no way to confirm. If it was covid, definitely very mild symptoms and got over it in a day or two.

I’m assuming it was covid because my brother got it and I didn’t contact it from him, though we were loving together at the tine, so I’m guessing is was natural immunity.

Last year my mom got covid (confirmed with a self test) and I live with her and also got sick so I suspect that I had covid as well but never took a test myself. I got sick the week Splatoon 3 came out actually but couldn't play because I had a really bad headache. The only symptoms I had was the really bad headache, general weakness, and a fever. I got better after 3 days and that was the last time I got really sick.

I stayed home for a few weeks straight and then became unwell (unrelated to covid) and had to go to hospital... and then I caught covid in the hospital. real bummer that was since I went a full two years virus free
