To anybody buying a switch to play this game...

When are you buying it?

As soon as you can/have enough saved up for it, on black friday/cyber monday, or... are you holding out for a potential limited edition like we got with the 3ds??

I can't decide whether to try to get one on black friday or hold out. >,<

I can buy it anytime, but just don't have time to play.
If I can get a special AC edition, I will go for it.
My friend sent me a picture of green and pink 2 different AC edition switch, I will go for that when it's available.

I'll buy it next year. I'm buying it mainly for AC and for Pokemon Gen 8, so really I'll buy it before whichever of those two games comes out first most likely.

A limited edition Switch might be cool, but I didn't care for the limited edition AC 3DS. If it's something like that, I'll just buy a standard Switch.

I was holding out because BoTW was the only game I wanted and it was on the Wii U, but now I'm going to cave and get one.
Not sure when though. I don't really care about LE ones or anything, I just want a good price mainly haha.

I really like the Let's Go Bundle but what's holding me back from getting it is the price and the fact that a new limited edition system could appear anytime that I may end up liking more than this current one.

If I never get the Let's Go system I'll be both sad and relieved since I would be able to purchase a cheaper one or a potentially more interesting system.

Honestly surprised they never made unique Tablets for the Odyssey and Splatoon bundles.

Same. Especially because I'm not 100% sold on Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. I don't play Pokemon Go and I also don't play most Pokemon side games. I'm waiting for Gen 8. A $100 premium on a Switch (the Let's one is $400, standard Switch is $300) just because it's pretty (since I may not care about LGP/E) feels hard to justify.

I'll be trying to save up for a while first. I don't have an excess of disposable income. But I know that a new Animal Crossing title and a new main series Pokemon game will be enough to get me to fork over my savings. Maybe even on Black Friday/Cyber Monday if the deals are good enough, but I'm not in a rush to get a Switch as long as neither of those titles have been released yet. One of my best friends has a Switch, and we've been playing Breath of the Wild together for more than a year now, so I don't feel like I'm missing out.

It's basically going to be that either I get one for Christmas from my dad or I just buy one with money I've saved up and I haven't set a date to buy one if I do that. If I go with option B, part of me tells me to get it before the end of the year, but the other part of me tells me there may be an Animal Crossing bundle like Nintendo did with the 3DS during New Leaf's release in 2012 and 2013... I voted for the fourth option.

There are other games I'll be playing once I get my Switch, but Animal Crossing was the announcement I was waiting for before taking the plunge. I'll either ask for it as a Christmas present, or if I can get a good price on a used one on eBay, I'll do that. I want several of the games already out and I'm super excited for some of the ones coming out before Animal Crossing, so as long as I get it sometime before AC releases I'll be happy.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Right now I don't really have the funds for a switch...so maybe I will get some money to save for one for my birthday that's coming up & for Christmas. If that's the case, I'll likely just get the gray switch & not be bothered about any special editions.

I'm really torn.

Just this week I had decided to buy a switch w/o the announcement.

But now I'm not sure. I'd love an AC themed switch, but theres a chance I won't like it. I'm not a fan on the Pokemon Lets go Switch. The dock is cute, but I'm really not a fan of the joycons.

so do i get it now so i can start playing some of the great games? or wait for a special edition that i might not buy anyway? tough.

I will hold off until the day the game gets released. I speculate that with this and the new Pokemon game next year, there might be a price drop on the switch on the horizon: Much like what happened with the 2DS introduced in 2013 with Pokemon X/Y and New Leaf.

I already own a switch and I will say no to AC switch because I rather to play it on a smaller console then the switch, and I know it will be more easy playing on the 3ds and not the switch.
To me it feels like City Folk all over again, I mean what else is new.

As soon as I can, probably around november, as I have there maybe some money left which I could
use to buy one. While there is chance that Nintendo may release a Animal Crossing bundle, I don't
want to wait that long, especially since there is no guarantee that they release one. Besides that,
Animal Crossing is not the only game for what I would buy a Switch, there are so many other games
I would really like to play finally (like Splatoon for example. I want to play that game for so long now).
So I would try to get a Switch as soon as I can and then just play all the other games I wanted to
play till Animal Crossing comes out (especially with Smash I will have much to do).

I will just get one when it seems right. Im definitely getting a switch mostly just for this game but if anything else does come up before then that I really want then I will get it a little earlier! Of course I will also buy one right away as soon as we get a release date.

personally i bought a switch on release day, but i would almost advise you guys to wait & see if there will be a limited edition one! they made a few LE 3ds's for animal crossing, so i'd very much guess that a switch is coming soon, too!

I'll probably hold off a bit. There aren't a lot of games that interest me right now; I was looking at BoTW, but couldn't justify buying the system just for that. I'm not terribly worried about a special system, because there are a lot of great skins you can buy to jazz things up.

I participate in NaNo each year and usually pick out something as a reward for winning. Now that I know AC is coming, this might be a good time to take the plunge.
