A meat eater, I've been both a vegetarian and a vegan at other points in my life and often would really love to return to it, but as someone who has a history with disordered eating and chronic fatigue, making myself eat when I have a ton of restrictions on what I can eat is extremely difficult, and I found myself skipping way too many meals while trying to be vegan.
I used to just eat whatever when I was younger, then decided to eat healthier in my teenage years. I didn't eat red meat for about a decade, but I've had some a handful of times in the past couple years. Still generally avoid red meat as much as possible though.
I guess of the listed options I'd fall somewhere between Meat Eater and Other, as even though I avoid red meat, I still consume both poultry and fish. I might like to transition into a Pescatarian diet sooner or later though, and eventually further into vegetarianism.
I voted other because I'm not really sure where I fall. I do eat a minimal amount of meat, so I can't call myself vegetarian anymore, but selecting meat eater doesn't feel right either because if there's a non-meat option, I usually take it.
I was a vegetarian for about 12 years, but went back to eating meat in my early 20's due to a combination of health and financial reasons. It was difficult living on my own for the first time, unable to afford much in the way of perishable foods, and completely unable to cook anything other than microwavable meals. But I limit the amount and kinds of meat I consume. I will only eat meat during one meal a day at most and it is usually either a small amount of chicken or turkey. I will eat beef or pork occasionally, but never any other kind of meat.
I have thought about going vegetarian again more recently since things are better financially, but it would be difficult since my husband is and always will be a meat eater. I would consider veganism too, if not for the aforementioned reason and if there was a good cheese substitute. I can live without meat. I honestly don't even like it that much, but cheese is my favorite food so giving it up would be hard.
I was a vegetarian for like 5 years (age 12-17) until I decided it wasnt healthy for me. I mostly did it for the animal welfare side of things and now I only buy meat from ethical sources. I still barely eat meat though
I eat meat, always have and probably always will. However, if I'm not eating out and cooking at home, it is usually a vegetarian based meal because I really don't like cooking with meat unless it's something simple like grilling fish (I love my fish grill so much lol).
I'm going to say meat eater. I don't eat a lot of red meat, as it's bad for me. The only meat I eat a lot of is chicken. Almost every week I have chicken at least twice for dinner. I don't mind vegetables, but I will admit, I need more of them in my diet. X.X
I read this a while ago.
It all makes sense now. ^_^
It's Official: Vegetarians Are Smarter. Published December 16, 2006 by PETA. Last Updated October 14, 2013. The BBC just reported on a study by Southampton University scientists which showed that individuals who were vegetarian by the age of 30 recorded an average of five IQ points higher than meat-eaters.
I used to just get my nourishment through photosynthesis but I had to stop when I started to attract hungry vegans.
Then I just used to eat supplements. It was convenient as it makes meal time last about 30 seconds and I got the opportunity to feel like a 70 year old who needs 40+ medications a day to live.
Sadly I've had to resort to a more traditional diet. I wouldn't say I'm a meat eater as I don't just eat beef, pork, lamb, chicken, turkey and fish, I also eat vegetables and pasta, so I would say I'm somewhere between a Vegan and a Pastafarian.
