After three years, The Bell Tree Fair is back! This is our seventh TBT Fair since the very first one took place sixteen years ago in 2004. In light of recent events in the big bad world, we felt that this year's TBT Fair should have a warm and cosy atmosphere. So put on your favourite pyjamas, find a fluffy blanket, and get settled in for the next four weeks. We are excited to announce that the theme of the TBT Fair 2020 is a slumber party!
For many of you, this will be your first time attending The Bell Tree Fair. Over the next four weeks we will be hosting a range of contests, events, game nights, trivia, and more! By participating in our events you will earn tickets which can be used to redeem souvenirs in our special TBT Fair Shop! Here are a few frequently asked questions and links to help get you started:
What are tickets?
Tickets are a limited-time forum currency that can only be used for prizes in the TBT Fair. All you need to do to earn tickets is to take part in our events! The majority of our events award tickets simply for participating, with larger amounts offered to the best entries.
What can I do with tickets?
During the TBT Fair, and for a short while after it concludes, a special TBT Fair Shop is open on the forum. The Fair Shop only accepts tickets as a form of payment, instead of the usual bells. You can use your tickets to purchase forum collectibles, Nintendo eShop gift cards, amiibo, TBTF prize packs, and more! We even have a copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons up for grabs for one lucky participant! Check out the Prize Booth for the full list of prizes.
How do I earn tickets?
Nearly every aspect of the Fair offers some amount of tickets for participating. No matter what your interest is, there's some way for you to participate, have fun, and earn tickets. Be sure to check out all of the threads in the Fair boards. More opportunities to earn tickets may be be added as the Fair goes on!
What is the difference between events and contests?
These terms are often used interchangeably in other environments, but on TBT we use these terms to distinguish between participation-focused and competitive activities:
What is Fair Time?
Fair Time is the universal time we use to make scheduling less confusing with the various time zones of The Bell Tree's members. It's the same as Eastern Time in the US and is displayed at the top of the forum.
If your question hasn't been answered here then feel free to ask for help over at The Cosy Couch. At first glance it will seem like there are a lot of activities for only four weeks worth of time. Don't worry, you will have enough time for everything! Have fun and we hope you enjoy the TBT Fair 2020!

These terms are often used interchangeably in other environments, but on TBT we use these terms to distinguish between participation-focused and competitive activities:
Events
These are our participation-based activities and they can be found in the Event Pavilion board. These activities have been designed to be accessible to everyone no matter your skill level. You will be generously rewarded simply for taking part. Everyone wins something! Some events also award extra tickets to the entries selected as the Staff Favorites: these are entries that the staff have internally voted on and have mutually agreed are the crème de la crème. Events open between August 16th-22nd and close between September 9th-13th.
Contests
These are our competitive activities and they can be found in the Carousel of Contests board. They are skill-based and people take them very seriously! As with Events, anyone who puts forth an effort will earn tickets, but the contest entries are judged and voted on by the community with large sums of Tickets and exclusive collectibles offered to the top three winners in each contest! All contests open August 16th and will close September 6th.
You can check out the timetable for all of our events and contests over at the Contest & Events Calendar. What is Fair Time?
