What Are You Happy About Today?

I've been busy this week, so here's a summary of what happened.

5/27/24 to 5/29/24:
- I visited a museum for the first time in like eight years. The architecture was amazing, and I also liked the artifacts on display.
- Completed a portrait commission and I amazed the person I gave it to. The human face is by far the hardest subject to draw, so I took my time to make it look accurate.
- The weather was warm and sunny ☀️
- Worked out at the gym and built some muscle 💪

5/30/24:
- Got dropped off at the airport and went on my flights. I read more chapters of Holes by Louis Sachar and watched some movies on the plane, including Migration and Jungle Cruise. In addition, I ate some yummy food, which is a rarity for plane food.
- Arrived home and my mom was happy to see me. Glad to be home since I was on vacation for a little over three months and felt homesick. While it was nice to visit a foreign country for the first time, I hated not having access to stable Wi-Fi for a while. Like when I played AC: New Horizons on my Switch, it would take like 20 minutes for the loading screen to progress cuz the Internet connection sucked. Really miserable. I also hated that I couldn't charge my 3DS consoles to any of the extension cords, so when they ran out of charge, I couldn't play them until I got home. For some reason, my DS lite didn't run out of charge over the course of a few months, yet 2DS xl and new 3DS xl consoles did. How weird.

5/31/24 to 6/2/24:
- I ate some delicious food at a Mediterranean restaurant.
- Went shopping with my mom and aunt. I got a linoleum block for printmaking and some clothes at a thrift store.
- Caught up on some sleep after having jet lag for the past few days.
- Visited my aunt's place and she made some brunch. She missed me a lot and was happy to see me.
- Found some Snapchat filters that I like, especially this one with a barn owl.

What happened today:
- I went to the library and checked out some books that I can't wait to read, especially Peter Pan. Also, there were some colored pencil artworks on display that were stunning.
- Worked on some sketches and I adored the creamy feel of applying the charcoal pencil to paper.

Posting again since I have more things that made me happy 🙂.

I think I have enough points for three arcade tokens now :D.

I was a bit worried that I was annoying with all my shiny updates; I’m happy that there was nothing to worry about. I knew that I was probably fine, but I still can’t help but worry since when I get overexcited about something, sometimes I mess up.

I got my sixth shiny for today from a raid. Might get some more since I’m just doing tera raids right now 🙂.

I ended up crashing a couples hours ago; I feel much better now. I thought I was fine earlier, but then I fell asleep 😅.

I had a nice chat with some friends 🙂. They’ve convinced me to give sword or shield a try when I finish up pokemon violet 🙂. I regret not giving it a chance or any of the newer games when they were released because I was bias towards the 2D Pokemon games; I’m grateful for TBT and the friends I’ve made since over the years and even now i’m becoming more open minded about a lot of things 🙂.
 
My mom and I are on our trip and will be heading home tomorrow, but it’s so far been a lot of fun! I’ll talk more in depth about it and all of my other happies from the past couple weeks when I’m home, but for now I’ll leave it at I’m very happy that the Squirtle Squad won first place in TBTWC, I’ve so far bought 3 axolotl plushes, and I saw 2 real ones at one of the places my mom and I have gone to!!!

☾ I posted a few days ago that I possibly have a job, and I have news. To probably nobody's surprise, I ended up transferring to the location at which I was being borrowed. Truthfully, I was contacted shortly after putting in my two weeks notice by my borrowed store asking me if I would consider a position there, and I took it. I know that's frowned upon in management (reaching out to employees and getting them to transfer to another store in the company), but tbh I'm very happy I took the offer. They offered me three long days which will get me close to forty hours, and I'll have consecutive four days off. I love working long shifts!
☾ I'm sort of relieved TBTWC is over. I did participate as much as I could but it was a rollercoaster of a two weeks. I couldn't have predicted what happened over the last two weeks a month ago, but I'm content with the sessions I did have the time to play!
☾ I had the chance to explore an abandoned mall today! There were some shops still open, but most of the mall was completely vacant. There were two restaurants outside of this mall and both were extremely busy. I was shocked to see this mall so barren. The guest service desk had nobody working and not even the arcade had anyone in it. This is the first time I've done anything like this, but now I'm interested in seeing more abandoned malls. I know they're a whole thing on YouTube.

Today I’m happy because my controller and nendoroid came! 🥳 It scans amiibos; I had a hard time getting to scan but I figured it out. I kept reading that the place to scan them was above the logo, but that it wrong; so the controller i got from amazon might have been legit 🤦‍♀️. well, too late to find out now. I feel like it is easier to scan on the joycons than the pro controller.

I found a light brown dirty tank top in the recycling bin in ACNH today. Cephalobot sent me a graceful painting (fake); I’m tting to get items for a friend that I’m trading with and got it second thme I tted forward one day.

I read some really nice things a few of my friends said and it really made me so happy 🥹. On and off for the last one or two years, I’ve been feeling like I’m hopeless about making more friends and finding people that understand me. So, it really makes me happy when my friends say they’re glad we’re friends and when they show concern for me since not a lot of people even people that were my personal friends showed much concern or tried to understand my mental health problems.

Jewels came on my bed for the first time in a couple days today; I’ve been worried about her and still am.

I got more shinies yesterday; I got three of them in a row 🥳. I’m a little scared by my luck 😅; I worry that a bot or something is making this possible

I haven't posted in this thread for almost a couple of weeks now! I've been occupied with stuff in my life and of course, TBTWC! It's pretty lengthy and you're more than welcome to skim through. I'll try my best to summarize. ☺️

  • Feel free to skip this point. I saw a BMW M3 (E46) on my way home from work! That makes it car #238 on the list since it was my first time spotting it. I confirmed it by looking at the exhaust as it passed by aside from the M badge and thankfully, it's the real thing!
  • I went to a restaurant with my coworkers and manager later in the evening. Food was really delicious!
  • After we ate, we went to my manager's house and chatted for quite a while. Later on, we did some karaoke and sang a bunch of songs!
  • Watched the 2024 Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Unfortunately, Lando Norris just missed out on winning the race against Max Verstappen, but the fact that he got pretty close to him in the first place gives me hope that Red Bull isn't as dominant as they typically are (though still better than Mercedes winning all the time lol).
  • Despite buying Super Mario Bros. Wonder last year (it was supposed to be a holiday gift for my sister), I finally got around to playing it for the first time! I already got a lot of enjoyment out of it and cleared the first world. 🍄
  • I learned some new things yet again at work! It genuinely made me feel happy trying it out for the first time with heavy supervision from my coworkers. More experience the better!
  • Over the past few days, I made some pixel art in which I limited myself to three colours per sprite. I tried to imitate the style of the Zelda games from the Gameboy systems and I'm happy with the outcome!
You may or may not recognize these faces but I drew the animal villagers for the umpteenth time lol. From left to right, we see Pag-asa (myself), Tazan (@/Midoriya), Sterling (@/xSuperMario64x), Kylie & Kodie (@/Roxxy and @/Alex10), and Tempest (@/Xara)! It was quite a challenge to try and make them recognizable with the limitations I set myself with, and what a fun challenge that was. If you couldn't tell, the main colours used here represent the teams we were in during 2024 TBTWC!

  • Feel free to skip this point too. I saw another car to add to my list (bumping it up to #239) which was a first-generation Toyota MR2!
  • College was pretty good. I learned some things that really clicked, so it'll help me better understand a few more things of what my coworkers do!

  • For starters, I couldn't believe it when my team voted the colour blue and Squirtles (pink was actually our top vote, but it was already taken by Poyo Puffs and had to go for the second most voted)! For those who don't know, I've participated in past team events where the team was on represented the colour blue or at least shades of blue (Blues Clues, the Poliwags, and the Galaxolotls). So to end up in the same colour for the fourth time is nothing short of amazing (and luck). Amusingly, it's the second time where I ended up not only repping a pokemon again, but is a water type too. Weird that it's happened twice! 💙💙💙💙
  • I watched a couple of streams of TBTWC which were hide and seek in ACNH and jackbox games.
  • I watched a stream of Super Mario Bros. Wonder in one of the sessions! There was a bit of banter going on in the chat which I found entertaining. @/.:Meri:. didn't seem to like it when she heard @/Xara and I wanting to try out the green ooze and purple grape juice respectively lol. Meanwhile, @/Mistreil was going haywire coming up with dozens of collectible ideas in that one stream alone. :ROFLMAO:
  • Competed in the competitive session of Mario Kart 8 in which I finished on the podium spot!
  • Participated in a friendlies session of hide and seek in ACNH with my fellow Squirtles! I had a lot of fun even though I got found fairly early haha.
  • Made a few written cheers and a visual cheer throughout the event!
  • I participated in a session of Among Us! I barely managed to play a round of hide and seek which was a totally new mode to me (I survived until @/Mistreil caught me with a few seconds left to spare rip). I also noticed that there was a pan flag nameplate ingame, so I saved up some beans and bought it hahaha.
  • I've participated in yet another competitive session of Mario Kart 8. I want to say that I really, really appreciate the support that my fellow Squirtles gave to me and @/Chibi.Hoshi despite being the only Squirtles in that session participating. Trying to fend off a lot of people is not easy, but ggs to @/IonicKarma and @/Mr.Fox for putting up a good fight!

  • This was from the previous night, but still made me very happy about it. I was going through the team cheer thread to make my written cheer when I saw @/S.J.'s drawing!

You see squirtles here, right? Well, if you look closely, you'll notice that she put in some aesthetics for each one of them that represents a few users on the team. We got: @/Pyoopi, @/S.J. herself, @/~Kilza~, @/Xara, and surprisingly, myself! It's amazing to see being able to identify them with just a couple of things alone. I'm sure she would've loved to add more squirtles if she had more time. 🥺
  • I participated in my first competitive session of hide and seek in New Horizons and successfully eluded @/Pyoopi (who was the seeker) for the entire match! There were a couple of disconnections, though. Also surprised that a few people survived as well considering she's a great seeker. After the hide and seek was done, we all took a group photo together! I'll be saving this photo for many years to come.

  • After escaping @/Pyoopi's seeking skills, I played Gran Turismo 7 which had an update that added five cars to the game. It's a decent addition too, especially since Volvo has made its return to the series after missing in action for quite some time!
Introducing the 2013 Volvo V40 T5 R-Design, a regular road car joins the roster. Will I be able to see this out in the wild someday? It's unlikely, but anything can happen!

I like this 1992 Honda Civic SiR-II (EG)! While I have never seen this particular model trim in real life, I have seen a fair share of EG Civics on the road from time to time.

If you thought the devs didn't add a Volvo station wagon, you'd be wrong! This 1993 Volvo 240 SE Estate is genuinely a fun car to drive... And I can drift it around corners for a bit despite only having just over 100 horsepower. I wonder if I can embarrass some Ferraris with a brick-shaped car after chucking on some upgrades lol.

What you see here is a 2000 Honda NSX GT500, but is better known as the Honda Castrol MUGEN NSX with the livery it has. This car is actually a returning veteran to the series which debuted back in Gran Turismo 3! I've personally never driven it much in the past (if at all), but is more of one of those cars that I've seen the AI drive. Regardless, its amazing to see it back in high quality!
Real world fun fact: Despite never winning a race in the Super GT series in the year it competed, the NSX still managed to win the overall championship thanks to its consistent results.

  • I ate pizza for dinner. My mom saw a deal, so we took advantage of that.
  • Played a session of Mario Kart 8 organized by Justin in which we were doing battles.
  • Despite two sessions of Among Us starting later in the evening, I still showed up to play with others! Hide and Seek was very fun, and the soundtrack that plays when you're the imposter absolutely slaps.

She pleaded me to spare her in the discord chat before the round started, so I intentionally left her alive for entire round while the rest were quickly hunted down prior. People were confused watching the chaos not unfold lol.

  • Feel free to skip this point. Oh my gosh guys, I could NOT believe a car that I saw in traffic of all places while I had to drive somewhere with my mother. So much so that it almost made me want to tear up while I was driving. 😭 It was a TVR Tuscan Speed 6! When I saw its distinct front grille and headlights peeking out ever so slightly in thick traffic, that's when I knew. I never would've thought that I'd actually see this car in person with my very own eyes. Arguably, this is perhaps the best car I've spotted in the wild this year. Not only does this mark a milestone of identifying 240 cars in total, but is also the 50th unique manufacturer! And yes, this does appear in the Gran Turismo series and has been for a very long time!
Funnily enough, this is the same colour I saw irl. It actually has a colourshift paint which changes colour depending on the lighting and where you look at it from! For those who are wondering where 6 in its name comes from, it has something to do with the number of cylinders in its engine which is an inline 6. Kinda sounds like a BMW too. Not gonna lie, I have a newfound appreciation for this TVR since finally seeing it for real.

As a bonus pic, here's what the car looks like from the inside. The huge number in the middle is actually the tachometer, so unless you know the redline (which is 75 that equals to 7500RPM), you're gonna end up revving like crazy lol.

  • I finished a visual cheer for my team that I worked on in the past couple of days. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome of experimenting lineless art!

  • Work went fine and got pretty chill in the latter stages of my shift!
  • I got to relax at home and ate baked salmon with baked potatoes for dinner!
  • I spectated a stream of Mario Party Superstars. I don't know, the game can be so brutal towards people sometimes lol.
  • I participated in yet another session of ACNH hide and seek! Despite it being competitive, I only came there for the fun. I wasn't as lucky this time around with @/Pyoopi's professional seeking skills BUT, there was a moment where I barely scraped by before it happened. After everyone was found, we all took a group photo together.

Apparently, @/Cheremtasy wasn't too far from me which I wasn't aware of when Pyoopi caught her out in the open. I was given the impression that I was caught, but left feeling confused after seeing the speech bubble. However, Pyoopi wasn't very close and didn't really see me, so I frantically tried to vault myself over the river in which the game wouldn't let me for a few moments. This is because I got there in a first place at a really precise angle. I escaped eventually and ran across the island up north, but was found just over a minute later. But hey, the fact I lasted for over five minutes before getting caught is a win to me lol.

Seeing Pyoopi appear in the background gave me the same fear when I see gloom hands from Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom lol. I got real lucky there which netted me 3rd place as a result.

  • Work went great! I was able to do a couple of things on my own while still having my coworkers double check after. It felt really good hearing my supervisor being happy about it too.
  • Feel free to skip this point. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Volvo 240 Estate again! I initially spotted it waaaaay back in 2021, so it's great to see the brick again lol. Wait a minute, I was just talking about this car in one of my other points. What a coincidence!
  • I watched the final session of ACNH hide and seek for TBTWC.
  • This next point is a highlight for me. There was a surprise stream where we got to watch @/Chris play Cooking Mama for a while. Good, right? Well, it was pretty hype to eventually see that the staff came together to play some games on Jackbox and Among Us! Also hearing voices from @/Mistreil, @/LadyDestani, @/LaBelleFleur, @/Oblivia, @/Pyoopi, and even @/Jeremy himself who is the father of TBT! There were a bunch of funny moments that are too many to list, but those three hours of watching the stream was well worth it!

  • I basically had the day off from college and work, so I got to relax.
  • There was another secret stream that was organized by staff and got to play hide and seek with each other in ACNH this time around! With @/Mistreil being silly as per usual, she changed up her aesthetic which matched exactly with @/Mick's. I didn't see the transformation, so I was confused at first. 🤣
June 4, 2024
  • College went fine for me continuing to get used to this one machine that we're using to learn.
  • I watched the 2024 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. While the race wasn't eventful, I'm still pretty happy that Charles Leclerc managed to finally win a race in his home country after a streak of bad luck in the past few years. Imagine this: You're a kid that takes a bus to school every day. Growing up many years later, you're a Formula 1 driver racing for Ferrari driving on those very same streets and then get 1st place after so many hardships. I don't think there are words to describe the immense happiness that Charles has. I'm happy for him. 🥹
  • I was pleasantly surprised that the closing ceremony of 2024 TBTWC came so quickly. Happy that my team finished 1st, it's not the main reason why. I'm mainly happy because I got to take part in the event even with my life being hectic in some aspects. Witnessing funny moments, banter, and having fun in gaming sessions really made it enjoyable for me, and it's all thanks to Squirtles, Yoshis, Ha-Chas, and Poyo Puffs. Points are temporary, but memories are forever. 💙💚💗💗
 
- Had a job interview today! I really think I aced it. I nailed every question they had for me right on the head xD I was on a roll!!!

- Went to a vintage toy and candy store today. It was really cool to see older candies and they even had Japanese snacks and sweets! I got myself some Calbee Takoyaki Ball(s) and some drinks :>

- Bought a Tera Orb from the shop today with my token! I've been eyeing it for a while and was originally going to give it to a friend, but it seems they already have a deal in place T^T So much for surprising them xD

- Played Wuthering Waves a lot today, even though I've been super moody and hormonal I still enjoyed the time I spent playing; looking back..

- My bf called me while he was at work <3 Hearing his voice always makes me so happy ;w; <3 <3 <3 He noticed I sounded sleepy though, so he let me go so I could nap c: What a swell guy hehe.

- Planning to relax for the rest of the night. I may watch some anime and chill! I had a really nice day today overall c:

Yesterday, I redid my CV. I think I did well! I showed my friend the summary; she said to make it more personal but I sorta did? Plus, this summary is for like any sort of job, with speicfic skills that are usually the focus point. I did specify I strive for creative ideas and writing but also value this skill.
Added my admin course on there properly, with all the units I am doing so they can see how serious it is.

Will work on more things today, and honestly the master ball gave me a lil movitvation to go back and play pokemon again.
 
The day started out even better then expected, I was not expecting to get a master ball but was so happy when I saw it in my inventory. I went to see my patch and was surprised that a master ball was there too. Have to look at the other collectibles to se which ones to use my coins on. They are all amazing so not sure yet. This event was so much fun. I was able to get my goals for it. Which was getting over 300 points and catching 6 shiny Pokemon. I caught my last one on the last day of shiny hunting.

Yesterday was a great day off. Had a nice morning walk with Aurora. Got some errands done in the morning. The afternoon was too hot to do much . So I relaxed with Aurora and played Pokémon Violet and Hogwarts Legacy. No shiny Pokémon in violet yet. I did beat two gyms and One Titan.

Yesterday was my 30th birthday. My boyfriend took the day off work so we could spend time together. We watched Naruto and the first episode of the new season of Demon Slayer and talked a lot.

I bought myself some ebooks for birthday gifts to myself. So I’m excited about those. I got 7 books. One is the first volume of the demon slayer manga 😀 a lot of the books I got are fantasy romance novels. lol but they’re to kind of get me out of my reading slump. They’re fun light reads.

I’ve been struggling a lot the past couple days with severe anxiety and panic attacks. It’s been difficult. But I’m hoping I’m through the worst of it now. I took a walk to the store today and that was nice.

Just doing what I can to stay grounded

Am currently enjoying some decaf coffee and am about to watch more demon slayer :)
 
I'm now the owner of a collectible I've waited so long to get... a Tera Orb! I was planning to trade one of my collectibles away for it and I thought I had a deal with someone but then they decided to step out so I could get it from someone else for free! TYSM again @Mimi Cheems ! Unfortunately, I was trying to deactivate the collectibles in my previous lineup and I accidentally discarded them instead, but I made a thread in the Contact the Staff board ASAP so I'm hopeful things will work out in the end. Wish me luck! 🫡

It's still morning for me so if any other happy occurrences happen to me later I'll make another post! For now, I just wanted to put this out there.
 
Finished my exam! Only one to go and then I'm free for six weeks ;u; I'm exhausted
I did better than expected considering how underprepared I was for it, I'm grateful for my memory. I've just been struggling a lot with focus and motivation, so I'm hoping that I can focus for my last couple days to do well on my final exam. TBTWC was a lot of fun, but at least now I can't use it as an excuse to not study HAH.

Let myself play some acnh and genshin this evening, and called my partner which was nice, and I had a short chat with Roxxy earlier 💚 I'm grateful for many of the people on here the past couple weeks, for the kind words and support, and just the joy of interacting with them.

Trying to figure out my next aesthetic and lineup at the moment, and what collectibles I'm going to get with my 4 tokens! I came up with one I liked but I'd need staff to re-release the star background for it lol. Gonna keep messing around with it! I always lean towards blues and greens, but maybe I'll try to go for something different for a change, the pink has been a nice variation.

Happy for everyone who was able to win a master ball today!
