CFS is kicking my butt. I've accomplished nothing today - I was hoping to do housework, grocery shop, batch cook, and play video games. I didn't manage more than feeding the cats and cleaning their litter box. But oh well. How I got here was worth it.
I went to the hospital before work yesterday to have the last of the diagnostic tests on my wrist done. Hopefully I'll have a diagnosis when I go back to see my physiotherapist.
Yesterday our 16-17yo biology pupils were undertaking the practical element of their research projects. It was
a lot of work for me, especially when I had less than 2hrs to prep 30 projects yesterday, but I did it! One of the pupils stands out as being especially grateful and polite when I came along to his class with the unique reagents needed for his project. It is especially rewarding when pupils recognise that the materials for their practicals don't appear out of thin air! Most of the pupils were successful. The ones that weren't successful were using the same reagents as those that were, so thankfully that wasn't my fault. They've the chance to redo them next week - so more work for me but oh well! I'm glad I help play a role in something so important for them.
Last night I treated my friend to dinner for her birthday (which was a week ago), then we saw Culture Club live! Culture Club is one of my all time favourite bands - I grew-up on them as my mum was a fan in the 80s. They played their first two albums, which are 40 years old now, and it was still incredible.
It was actually my second time seeing the vocalist, Boy George, live. I first saw him a decade ago performing his solo work. Seeing him perform Culture Club hits was so much better though!!
Don't think you know who Culture Club are? Chances are you know this song!
Soundtrack to my childhood. I remember being 13 and cleaning the skirting boards in the living room while we were preparing to move back to my home country and this was playing on the TV.
My friend also gave my partner and I a Christmas card and said there was a present inside. When I came home I opened it to find a voucher for a cocktail-making class!
My precious boys Sebastian (white) and Delta have spent more than 8 hours cuddled up with me today. They even joined me for a 4hr nap. I love my little men so much. Monday will mark two months since they came to live with me. They might be the best decision I have ever made.
