What Are You Happy About Today?

Daily happies:

📚 Had a cozy day studying with my friend in the library in the rain. (Not so cozy with upcoming exams, but still.) Was productive and explained some concepts to my classmates — felt helpful.

📖 My partner helped me study for said upcoming exams.

☎️ Spoke to one of my best friends on the phone today. Miss + love him.

💌 Decorated my planner a bit. It’s nice to have a cute spread for the week.

🌳 TBT has been bringing me happiness lately, and I really enjoy reading the island journal entries every morning. So, as always, I am grateful for y’all. 💫
 
- I got to sleep in and didn't have to worry about anything. 💤

- Glad that the Kansas City Chiefs won the superbowl. I'm not a fan of either team, but I at least didn't want the Eagles to win. 😎

- I got to play some more Fire Emblem Engage and tried out a Tempest Trial set of battles, and won without losing a single unit! ⚔️

- I'm glad I have tomorrow off as well! 🥳
 
Today I'm happy because:

- I got to sleep in this morning.
- I had a fairly relaxing day at home. I got a few things done, but nothing too strenuous.
- I played a couple of video games and watched the latest episode of To Your Eternity.
- I watched the Super Bowl. I didn't really care who won, so I'm just glad it was a good game.
- I finished up the one thing I still had to do for work, so now I'm done and can fully enjoy my week off.
- I get to sleep in all week!

It took me two years on and off, but I restored a really old antique chest from the 1850s. It had everything wrong with it and the owners did everything in their power to ruin it. Anyone else would had given up, but I was determined to take on the challenge. Seriously to the last owner, what were you thinking? Ugly poop green? Blackened metal?

☾ I remembered to claim all the ACNH NSO icon elements for February! Now just to wait and see if they start repeating in March, or if they'll add in NPCs—if it's the former, I think I should have all of them! ^^
☾ The latest episode of One Piece was really good!! I'm so happy that a couple of fights are finally over ahahaha.
☾ I got my dailies done in ACNH and spent a little time working on my home interior! I'm gonna try and push for that gold HHA trophy while still decorating how I like—thankfully I don't think I'm too far off!
☾ Found some really great new official art of one of my comfort characters!!! not me literally gasping when I saw it askljfdgsd
☾ I worked on the coloring page I'm on a bit more today!
☾ And I just cleared the Bandit King's Old Base in Rune Factory 5! I've still got some story follow-up to do, but it was pretty late when I got through, so I'll finish that up next time. 😅
 
➣ I’m so happy that the Los Angeles Kings beat the Penguins 6-0 last night. I was in attendance when they came to Pittsburgh back in October and although it was a blowout in favor of Pittsburgh, I still enjoyed it. I even found my collection of pucks from the games I attended. This isn’t all of them, but the rest will probably turn up. I’m always behind the visitor’s bench so I’ve been able to interact with some of the players, including most recently almost getting a selfie with Quinton Byfield, if my phone wasn’t in my pocket. 🥲

➣ I managed to get amazing sleep over the weekend while still having a significant amount of free time racing on Mario Kart! I reached 33,000 VR, as well!
➣ I cleaned up the living room a ton for a scheduled apartment inspection tomorrow. They’re annoying but at least I’ll be at work when that’s happening.

Thanks! The pictures and my phone don't really do it justice to show how royally messed up it was when I found it. It was in a barn's attic. One day when cleaning and throwing stuff out for the farmer, I asked if I could have it since he was going to toss it.

The inside smelled awful. Musty old fart smell. I did everything to try to get rid of the stink and over time it gradually worked. I bought these febreeze gel twist candles when there was a 2 for $1 deal (bought like 10) and just twisted them all at once. It then smelled like fruity must fart smell, but it made it easier to work near/in it at least.

They covered it in burlap wallpaper, then painted the burlap with green stucco paint. And also did it so sloppy it covered the metal. So on top of chunky petrified paint, there was rust, and like oxidized blackened metal. I tried everything to get it off, but the only thing that worked was using a dremel with the least abrasive sanding bits to meticulously and painstakingly sand and grind it off.

It was an awful time consuming process. And the smell. Oh god the smell...

But despite all that, I am really proud with what I was able to accomplish. So thank you for the compliment! Glad you got to sleep in and have a pleasant day yesterday!
 
Just a few things for today. :)
  • This was technically yesterday minutes before midnight, but I'm glad to have completed yet another entry for my island journal even though I met the minimum amount of posts I need to make. I ended up putting in quite some effort compared to my previous ones and really liked how it turned out with the very limited writing skills I have. Apologies in advance if you got sick of me chucking in soundtracks from the Gran Turismo series lol.
  • I bought another Hotwheels toy this time featuring a Ford Shelby GT350R! It's yet another one of those cars I didn't know existed as a toy.
Also, yes, this car appears in Gran Turismo 7 lol.

  • One of my classes was interesting for me. I had to get some readings from a gauge and I was working with another classmate to complete some questions. It felt good figuring some of the things out ourselves and one of them involved having to rev the engine. Of course, I wanted to take the opportunity to do that, so I stepped on the gas and made one of my classmates look back momentarily. 😂 Aside from that, I learned something new from it after noting down the gauge readings. It's giving me more understanding of how these components on a car work and it's really cool!
  • The weather was nice and sunny as I was coming home.
  • My dad cooked spaghetti for dinner and it tasted very good!
  • I got some college stuff and studying done.
  • I played a little bit of New Leaf and returned a lost book to Kitt! Funny how it's this particular lost item considering it exists as a collectible now haha.
  • I got to play F1 22 and progressed up to qualifying. Now I only got to do the race and it's on to the next one.
 
Today I'm happy because:

- I didn't have to work today, which means I got to sleep late this morning.
- After more than 24 straight hours of rain, it finally stopped today. Yay!
- I got the vanity drawer cleaned and organized.
- I spent some quality time with my husband and my dog.
- My dog snuggled with me on the couch.
- I did some non-essential hygiene stuff that I hadn't done since they started working on the bathroom.
- I tried out one of the new towels I bought and it was very soft.
- Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I'm excited to spend the day at the aquarium with my husband! 💗
 
☾ I earned another achievement in Minecraft today!!
☾ The acrylic keychain I ordered last week arrived here safely!
☾ Played a little ACNH, got some builds started, and Raymond gave me his photo when he wanted to visit my house!
☾ We got a new Valentine's raffle!! I'm so excited, good luck to everyone participating. ;v;
 
IM DONE WITH MY RESEARCH PAPER!!! 🎉
Well at least for the bulk of it. It is going to be edited soon, but then I'll be done with it foreverrrrrrrrr!!!!

Valentine's Day is tomorrow. Not like anything else is happening for me but my dad bought a chocolate cake for my family to share and we are giving out some cards.

Then on the 15th after orchestra rehearsal I'm going to the store to buy chocolates on sale 😋

Then after a few more assignments to get thru I'll have the 4 day weekend!!!

I also ate some more of the chocolate apple today. Wow, I've been talking about chocolate so much, but it's good lol
 
despite valentine's day being just another day for me (I don't do anything special to celebrate) I do have a bit of a giddy feeling, maybe I'll be able to do some more recording for my yt channel today, or even work on drawing projects! 😄

also went to the auction house on Flight Rising to find a valentine's day hatch and I found this cute little Obelisk bab, I named her Rose 🌹

Today I'm just happy that I'm doing something worthwhile at work and listening to music and drinking coffee. The weather outside is pretty nice as well. These are the times when I feel most like myself. 💙

Also super excited for the Dallas Stars versus Boston Bruins hockey game later tonight! It'll be a showcase between the best of the west and the best of the east. Really looking forward to it. 🤩
 
Haven't been on TBT in a few , been so busy but had some time to pop in today.Hope everyone has been keeping well. 💗

I have a few happy moments from the past couple days. The biggest one being I finally gave in and impulse bought a standing/adjustable desk. I've been wanting one for years now but was too frugal to actually follow through on buying one. Went browsing Ikea on the weekend for inspiration and they had a couple that were in the discount/as is area and well, I walked out with one.. (but also ideal, I was originally keeping an eye out for cheap second hand desks anyway, this was still over my intended budget but coming from a store with a receipt means I can claim it for income tax at least). It has been such a game changer in just a couple of days already, it feels so good to be able to actually do my work standing up since I hate sitting for long stretches of time. If anyone has been waffling on one IT IS WORTH THE INVESTMENT.

Otherwise, my packages from Japan I ordered by surface mail in December showed up! And everything came without issue. One of them came with a couple little extras too which was such a nice surprise. ;u;

And I guess for today, even though I slept most of it away (and the weather was gorgeous, would have been nice to walk outside oof), but I finished my work pile last night so I have today and tomorrow off. So happy I can just spend the time catching up on some commissions and reorganizing the room some--it became a quick mess with the new stuff that came in plus having to clear out my old desk. ^^' Also, my mom brought me a doughnut today.
 
Today has been a great day. I finished another really big task 😮‍💨
Listened to some bops
I ate good food (bagel, sandwich. Pizza)
Finished my chocolate and caramel apple 🍏
Took a nap and that helped my back pain a bit
Made a valentines card by hand for my parent
Sofia was also being a good cute girl. And I feel less stressed than I have been lately and that's always nice :3
