What Are You Happy About Today?

Besides the one thing I refuse to re-acknowledge that happened while there, the go kart place was pretty fun.

- Watching people drive was way more fun than actually doing it myself, even though I was constantly anticipating them to crash. Most of them seem to have had some experience, so it didn't happen that often.

- The go kart place doubles as a casino and has a lot of places to eat at. I've never actually been to a casino before since my parents never gamble, and would probably not take me if they did, but it was just essentially a really big arcade… but for adults. I had a burger and fries, which were both really good. Also had some Pepsi with it.

- We also went to a bakery and I got two cupcakes, which also happened to say Happy Chanukah on them. I was going to give one to my mom and the other one to my little brother, but my mom just ended up letting me have it. It was also funny when my friend's dad started using a scooter to drive around when he really didn't need one.

So besides that one event that happened at the beginning of the day, it was a memorable experience.

Today I'm happy because:

- I got some much needed sleep and slept in this morning. I feel so much better.
- I hadn't played Kena: Bridge of Spririts in about a week, but I had time to beat the next boss today.
- I got some ideas for my in-laws' Christmas gifts and ordered my father-in-law's presents.
- I had a lovely day at home with my husband and my dog.
- I get to rest again tomorrow.

I know I talk about her a lot here, and you must be fed up of hearing about her, but I love that Basset Hound more than life.)

I will never, ever tire of seeing or hearing about Blossom. I love her as I do all of the TBT animal family. I'm so happy to hear that she's doing okay and hope that her recovery goes quickly.

☾ I watched an episode of Fairy Tail and Hunter x Hunter with my family this morning, and later on we caught up with GeminiTay's most recent Secret Life episode!!
☾ I made it up to 600k followers in Fashion Dreamer! Might take a little break from the grind though until we at least have an estimated return date for the Fantasy Fair.
☾ I was able to finish and turn in my Secret Santa art!! Proud of myself for getting it finished up because I've been feeling pretty listless for the past few days and keeping up with even just regular stuff has been a bit of a struggle for me.
☾ Afterwards though I was able to distract myself by starting up Dragon Quest Builders for the first time, and I'm already really loving it!! ;v; The action-style combat is... a struggle for me, as usual LOL, but I've gathered four people to Cantlin and I think the settlement is shaping up pretty well so far! Already filled in and replaced the dirt walls with some nice brick. And while I was never a fan of Sugiyama as a person, the familiar DQ OST is honestly very comforting to me, I have to say.

I'm happy today for one reason most of all, and that is....

While I was playing my Pokemon Violet Surpriselocke, I happened to notice a Lycanroc running along the side of the cliff. I caught a good glimpse of it before it could run out of view, and saw that it was a SHINY!!

I battled and caught it, and nicknamed it Hinata since it's female (after Hinata Hyuga from Naruto). It was at full odds too! No shiny sandwich, no mass outbreak, just a full odds shiny Lycanroc. I'm so happyyyyyyyyy!!

Also happy because I'm more than halfway through Pokemon Journeys (the initial series) now, and I found out from a friend that Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer: The Hashira Training arc is set to air in spring 2024!!!

- I was super ill yesterday (full body ache, headache, fatigued, cough, chills), I think I caught the flu while travelling around in the cold so much in Germany. But I'm super happy today because I feel much better! All I have now is a cough and a slightly stuffy nose.

- Watched the new Doctor Who episode last night.

- Overall I've enjoyed these past few days chilling at home before the onslaught that is working in a supermarket during Christmas comes next week I probably won't be able to do much until Christmas is over. My manager actually gave me some annual leave for early next year, I think to make sure I use it all up before it gets renewed.

• Been very busy today doing lots of odds and ends around the house, but I’m happy to write that Blossom is very nearly back to her usual self. She is back to being hyperactive! I took her outside and she scooped up pebbles from the garden with her cone! That was amusing! She has also had 2 baubles from the Christmas tree in the living room! The baubles didn’t escape unscathed! But Blossom was ok, so that’s the main thing. I think I’m going to have grey hair before my time as she has jumped onto the sofa to sit beside me about 3 times this evening. I love that she wants to sit beside me but I am really worried she is going to burst her stitches. She has steps and a ramp, but no she still wants to jump! I think I will need to crate her in the next few days. I hate doing that but if it’s going to help in the long round. The vet did say that if she wasn’t getting on with the cone we could discuss the possibility of her wearing a surgical suit. She needs a lot more help than usual as she is struggling to reach over for her food even if it is raised, so I need to hand feed her. It takes time, but she is worth it!
• Got some more coat hangers. Seriously, is it just me or do coat hangers just disappear?
• Watched a Christmas themed episode of Still Game – ‘Plum Number’.
• Got some extra sleep this morning, which I needed as I could barely keep my eyes open last night.

☾ I'm obviously much more of a hockey fan, but I am ecstatic that Shohei Ohtani will be joining the Los Angeles Dodgers this upcoming season.
☾ The Los Angeles Kings managed to snag a point in overtime yesterday in spite of the loss. It's crucial to aim for points in every game you can. I'm also looking forward to the game against the New York Rangers which starts in just twenty minutes. I am hoping for another dominant win tonight.
☾ Work was super busy last night and everyone got out later than expected, but it was extra money for my upcoming paycheck. I'm not fussing.
☾ I am happy about being called my chosen name by minors at my job. It's amazing how the 15-17 year old's are adjusting with no questions asked, while adults seem to have all the questions. Hatred is definitely learned.

I’m honestly at my worst the last few days , but there is one thing that has made me really happy that I want to post about here. My mom surprised me with a tablet a month ago and I decided to try downloading Genshin Impact. Aside from random exiting after I play it a long time and some weird glitches, I had no problems with it on my tablet . I’m hooked! I’ve been steamrolling the story since the story is so good! Already found some units I want; the first thing I did was look up my favorite Japanese voice actors, Hiroshi Kamiya and Daisuke Ono and I was so excited to see they both have a unit and they’re fun to use; I was so happy to be able to try them out in one of the recent events . So I hope to eventually get both of their units and Raiden (so excited about her rerun banner) . I hope everyone has been doing good here and have a great holiday

-Been feeling better after recovering from covid! Ready to get off my butt and back to work tomorrow
-Unfortunately my mom and grandma's been dealing with it, they are hanging in there though! Good to know they'll pull through!
-My brother and I helped with christmas decorations! He did the outside decorations while I finished the tree!
-My art markers I ordered came in! I got them from a black friday deal! They work great and they come in 280 colors! So many it's actually overwhelming! XD

-I practiced some more Spanish on Duolingo. I hope to get the more complicated lessons by the end of next week.

-Last night I washed my clothes, and today I folded them while waiting for Mom.

-This weekend I saw two classic movies that I've been meaning to watch for years now. I liked Meet Me in St. Louis the best.

-Mom saw that I was struggling to find the motivation to wrap presents so she joined me.

-Throughout the past few days Mom and I discussed our options for the future. I'm relieved to hear that she's now open to the possibility of renting, because I'm not sure that we will find a two bedroom house before June.

-Went to Walmart and bought some market; and helped Mom choose her presents for my siblings and niblings.

-I spoke to Dad today. I feel like I have another support beam on my side.

Someone complimented my Pokeball ear warmer! Ever since I got it from a craft fair, I’ve worn it for years and no one’s said anything. It felt warm and nice to be complimented.

☾ It is safe to say that Dragon Quest Builders has me absolutely hooked, I practically played it all day and only partly because I wasn't feeling well lol. I've just been having an absolute blast with it—I've been working steadily on improving Cantlin, and after improving the defensive fortifications, I started thinking it was looking a little too militaristic (which I mean, it kind of needs to be, but morale is also important!). Rather than start placing Piles of Bones around to intimidate any encroaching monsters, I made a little green plaza area with some flowers and I honestly love it!! ;v; I'm looking forward to hopefully getting to play more tomorrow; I really didn't want to put it down!

Today I'm happy because:

- I slept really deeply and got to sleep in this morning.
- I had a bad headache all day but my husband was very sweet and comforting.
- My husband and I finished up the slides for a holiday trivia game we're planning with friends.
- The TBT Holiday Event will be starting soon. I'm excited but also stressed. I have so much left to do.
- The Baltimore Ravens won their game today so my husband is happy.
- The Minnesota Vikings won today. It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win.
- I have one more week of work and then I'm off for the rest of the year!

Last night I assisted a mother in giving birth to her first child. The couple had been trying for a child for years now, but sadly only had a series of miscarriages due to a certain condition. But yesterday, her 5th pregnancy finally gifted her with her first baby, and she was crying as she held her baby boy in her arms for the first time. I'm really happy to have witnessed one of her greatest milestones in life. Really really warmed my heart, miracles really do happen

☾ I finished watching Eyeshield 21. In short, to say I enjoyed it would be an understatement. I talk about specific parts I enjoyed in The Anime Thread if anyone is interested. I did also blur any spoilers, so no worries there. Up next, I will be watching the second season of Spy x Family.
☾ I saw my favorite person last night. We had a chance to chat for a minute, which was nice. I got a little taste of her strength when she was carrying me with one arm to her car, lmao. She’s capable of protecting me at the very least. She's also been very sweet lately as she's always been.
☾ I hate snow, but this forum background is so clean?? This will make these months just a bit more bearable for me.
☾ The Christmas event starts in two days and I'm looking forward to it. I don't know how much I will participate, but I'll be lurking the event.

- The Dallas Cowboys crushed the Philadelphia Eagles 33-13 last night!

- I'm going to be getting a pretty large bonus from my work come Friday!
