What Got You Into Collectibles?

I've always enjoyed collecting cute or pretty things (this includes pixels in particular...former scarred Animal Jammer here but I collected items there too), especially things that allow you to personalize your profile, so I was immediately attracted to them. Plus, they are so cute and small. My earliest collectibles were the birthstones and carnations, and I especially loved the pink one. I loved seeing everyone's pretty displays, too.

I didn’t care about tbt or collectibles until LittleMissPanda gifted me an Ancient Candle…it was all downhill from there.

I’d collected random stuff here and there over the years but didn’t really pay them any attention.

just being on the forums really :) they've been really fun since i joined in 2013. there's been so many new ones added now that it's hard to keep them all straight.

I can't even remember getting my yoshi egg or togepi egg back in 2014 but I lost interest in collectibles until 2020 when I came back to the site. I saw the pikachu egg and I've basically been collecting since then.

I think it was seeing all these pretty little pixels on everyone’s sidebar and now I can’t stop! It’s crazy to think i started with just a simple little orange I purchased from the shop lol.

Just the current event going on, I'm pretty casual about it right now but I've always loved collecting and think it also gives a nice incentive to interact with the community!

Collectibles weren't my thing when I first joined TBT. All I cared about at the time was getting the help I needed for my Animal Crossing town or island.

I believe the Lunar New Year event this year was when I grew interested. I remember looking at the Chinese Dragon collectibles and I was like, "wowzers. That's way cool!" However I wasn't in the mood to earn the currency needed to buy them, so I could do nothing but gawk.

As time passed, the collectible phenomenon slowly creeped up to me. I began to make a lot of posts in TBT, earning myself enough forum bells to satiate my collectible cravings in the process. The events and whatnot have contributed greatly to my newfound obsession pastime. It wasn't until I was gifted a Tera Orb recently that I discovered the significance of lineups... and here we are.

I was never that serious about collectibles. The ones that I do have are visible in my inventory, but they aren't ever on my sidebar. I've only ever had one lineup since I've been here, and it was more of a joke lineup. I had 10 Lobo collectibles that were visible in my sidebar, but I later decided to part with them.

I still love Lobo as a villager, but I ultimately decided to just not have a lineup.

I told myself I was just going to make one permanent lineup to express my love for the Code: Realize games. A pretty birthstone gradient with blue and white roses, and the tricolor puppy plush as a stand-in for the series' mascot corgi, Sisi. It was very pretty, fairly affordable, and surely all I'd ever need in my sidebar.

...Then I started thinking about how other collectibles kind of reminded me of other series and characters I liked.

...Then I won a raffle which enabled me to start actually pursuing those other collectibles.

And here I am now. 😅 Although what is interesting to me is that I haven't pursued many planned lineups since my first one! I mainly just go for individual collectibles and figure out what to do with them later.

I don’t really remember to be honest…I think I won a giveaway (or was gifted) a pink carnation and I had a tasty cake and was these are pretty cute. Then it was over from that moment I realised that collectibles are cool lol

Nothing. I’m not really that into collectibles. I just like some of them because I think they look cool or they’re based on something I like, or because maybe I could possibly make a lineup with them.

I remember the halloween 2015 collectible craze and realized i really liked the thrill of getting collectibles and decorating my sidebar c: then 2016 fair happened with the wands and i really loved them!!
