Seeing as how I love to cook, I wanted to start a thread on it! I usually cook a majority of my meals since it's just the cheaper option as opposed to going out. Have you cooked anything lately? It doesn't have to be fancy or even good looking, I just wanna know. Pictures are encouraged but not required.

Hopefully I can grab some new meal ideas from y'all! I've been kind of in a rut lately with food.

Lately my partner has been really into making korean tofu stew (jigae), I've had it for 2 weeks straight lol

Not a "cooking" item but I've started trying to master macarons, so I've been doing a different flavour each week. They turned out pretty good so far but I'm still messing with my oven's settings - some are getting a bit brown...
2 flavs i've got photos of: lemon curd and coffee ganache filling

I've been meaning to make jigae forever now, every time I see picture I drool. Now that it's getting cooler outside I might whip some up. (Yours looks so tasty omggg)
And those macaroons are really gorgeous, even the feet are beautiful. Coffee ganache sounds incredibly good. I haven't had macaroons in too long.

Thank you! I'm truly blessed to be able to only consume jigae and not have to do the work haha
The coffee ones are actually my favourite flavour so far. buying macarons are way too expensive here... like $3 average per cookie :/

I plan on making Buffalo ranch hoagies on Saturday. You put 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts in a crockpot, with 12oz of Frank’s Red Hot Wing Buffalo sauce, and some ranch seasoning. Cook it then shred it and put on hoagies , you can dip the sandwich in ranch dressing if you want. I have never made it before but I saw it on Pinterest and it looked good and easy to make so I thought I’d give it a try.

I’m waiting for some bananas I bought to get brown so I can try making banana bread , I’ll post pics when I do :)

I've never heard anyone putting buffalo chicken in a hoagie roll but that sounds sooo good. Buffalo sauce flavored anything is always my favorite!

Please do post pictures ugh I love banana bread. I'm gonna grab bananas after work now.

I didnt really "cook" this, but I made it earlier. I bought a package of tri colored coleslaw mix, some sliced almonds, and I took some leftover rotisserie chicken we had from the other night. I mixed together the coleslaw, chicken, mayo, and almonds to make a coleslaw chicken salad, and its seriously so good. Also if you like nachos and BBQ, I take some tortilla chips, with premade BBQ pork and layer the pork over the chips, then top it with queso cheese, shredded cheese, and sour cream, one of my favorite go-to easy meals!

Kind of sad, but I just really started learning to cook eggs lol. I'd like to know some easy to make starter recipes if anyone wanted to share. Specifically ones that don't involve an oven. Only our stovetops work, but we do have an air fryer.

I hate cooking generally unfortunately, BUT I have had a slow cooker for about a year and it's changed my life haha. I like being able to chop and throw in the good stuff, that I know is healthy and fine, then leave it to it's thing. I wish I took joy out of cooking, but I've just never clicked with it. I've always cooked from scratch, but til the slow cooker I would dread it. Now I hunt around for slow cooker recipes so I can at least enjoy the results and sort of feel accomplished? Haha

The coleslaw mix sounds soo good I love the addition of almonds to make it cronchy. I keep hearing such good things about nachos with bbq I reallly wanna try it. I feel like it'd be good wit hot sauce too?? Idk must put on my list of things to make for dinner!!

That's okay I grew up eating lots of canned food and ramen. I honestly only started learning to cook when I moved out, and fell in love with it. This is embarrassing but, I didn't even know how to boil broccoli. I think I filled a massive pan and put like three pieces of it in cold water and left the lid off and got stressed because it wasn't boiling (surface volume anyone? lmao). Eggs are soo easy to cook & it's a great starting point. I love pasta recipes because it's cheap and easy to make! Any sort of pasta you like + a homemade sauce or cheap store sauce and your own cheese and fresh herbs like parsley make it so much better than store bought!

This is my favorite way to make soup! You know it's all healthy and you don't even have to think about it until it dings. It's genuinely a miracle machine, I've seen people make cheesecakes out of pressure cookers. It's definitely still cooking in my book, anything that takes effort. Thanks for reminding me that it's almost soup season. I gotta break my slow cooker out, maybe try curry in it? It saves so much time.

btw I understand not enjoying cooking it can be a lot to think about what you want for dinner (this part takes me + partner forever 😭), then go grocery shopping, cut + clean food, then watch over it for 20-40 minutes. Not to mention doing all of this when you get home from work and are tired as heck. 😂

i made some banana bread the other day with no sugar, only honey. it turned out pretty good and moist.
I've been wanting to bake more with natural ingredients like honey or agave instead of sugar! I'm not very good at baking compared to cooking, but I try. Was the honey noticeable? I feel like even if it was it would have a good taste with the bananas.

I've made like 3 batches of deviled eggs in the last few weeks cause they're sooooo good lol. each batch is a different color too, first was the regular yellow, then green, then purple. my next batch will be blue :)

first try it was very noticeable, and even using over a cup of honey didn't get it to the level of sweetness i was accustomed to. i did the recipe again with some brown sugar too and it worked out okay. still the honey taste is very strong!

My dad makes the best deviled eggs, I use to eat all of them when he would make them. Did you use regular food dye for them? I need to see pictures of these blue deviled eggs!

That's good to know! I bet it was still delicious. Banana bread is a god-tier bread for sure.

I did use regular food dye, mixed it in with the filling. I haven't made the blue ones yet but here are the green ones I made a few weeks ago :)
(I think Thunder said they look like wasabi lmaoo)

The consistency still looks so good! They're really pretty deviled eggs. I'm so bad at pealing the boiled eggs.
(omg lmao they totally do now im wondering if wasabi deviled eggs would be good?? I think I'm just hungry)

peeling them is tricky, especially when part of the egg gets stuck to the shell. i usually make 12 eggs at a time so they easily take me 20-25 min to peel but I enjoy doing it :>

also I'm personally not a fan of wasabi so idk if it would be very good, might clash with the apple cider vinegar 😝
