Raging on my DSiXL by hitting on its side continuously. I did it so many times to the point where it turns off occasionally. Now, it won't even turn on. Too bad Nintendo doesn't fix DSes anymore and I'll blame myself on that unfortunate event.
Wasn’t a ds but I smashed the crystal display on my sisters gba from raging on a super Mario world level....I learned not to let my anger get the best of me after that.
But I broke a 3dsxl from It falling off a counter while I had headphones in on the jack and it fell 3ft...screens stopped displaying, and audio no longer worked, so I sent it into Nintendo for the first time ever in my life and they sent a new one, which irked me as the repair slip said it was fixed and didn’t need a replacement...oops on that part. I have no idea what broke on it still don’t.
My DS fell off of my bed and I didn't notice and ended up stepping on it. The top screen cracked and I couldn't play games that required the top screen anymore. This was much to my despair, as it was 2009 and would still be a couple of years before the 3DS came out. I missed out on/had to wait for pretty much every game until I got a 3DS except for Golden Sun Dark Dawn which operated on the bottom screen.
My lil' bro bit the bottom screen of the Black DS lite when he lost in the Pokemon Contest from Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.
Not sure how THAT played out. I wasn't there when it happened. He was playing against my lil' sister and I think he was 6 years old.
I never broke a DS system, but I did ruin my old DSiXL's microphone by recording really loud music into it constantly (in Flipnote Studio), from speakers that had great subwoofers and sound quality. It did make my videos sound great at first, but then the audio would have a lot of white noise and eventually the mic would just stop working altogether.
It destroyed the mic, and when my dad tried to replace the mic he destroyed the entire console rip
I didn't break it surprisingly, but I once tried to place my trusted light green ds lite on a crt tv at my grandma's house. It was like a cube tv, but the back's slanted, so it slid off. No problem, I thought, let's just try again! So I did. The same thing happened. This went on for 2 more times before I finally learned that I was really stupid.
I still have it, and it works, but the d-pad is not as responsive as it should be. The L and R buttons need some extra force as well. I don't think that's because of the drops though.
I've never broken a gaming console, but my original black 3DS has some unsightly white marks on the edges because I held it carelessly once while exiting a vehicle.

Oh, god. This is basically like my Monster Hunter Generations 3DS XL. The paint decal literally PEELED off where my palms would rest. It was SO unsightly. Augh. e-e
I didn't break it, but i had lost my stylus and i was playing pokemon and i used a bobby pin as a stylus and scratched the bottom screen its the smallest scratch ever but it bothers me
How has this site collectively broke so many DS systems O.O RIP
Both of mine are in perfect condition. I just lost the stylus to one of them a couple of times.
