What was the biggest scandal at your high school?

-principal was fired for defending white supremacist student
-fbi shut school down for a few days bc someone was storing a girls nudes in the student drive
-kid brought a gun to school planning to shoot it up but was caught right before
-someone smoked weed in the bathroom on april 20th and nearly burnt the whole bathroom to a crisp

edit: ah, i remember a fifth one. one day a giant group of anti abortion protesters set up camp right outside the school for no apparent reason, yelling and screaming with large banners of graphic pictures. my school is ages 12 to 18 so a lot of kids saw some nasty things on their way home. i remember my friend throwing a tomato at them out of the bus window

Honestly my school must have been located under a rock because there really wasn’t any scandals I can think of!

There was this one time that we went on lockdown because a strange man managed to get into the school. He told the police he was just looking for the vending machines. No one was ever hurt and we were all sure he was just on something.

Nothing really bad happened at my school except fires that didn't do too much damage, teen pregnancies and small fist fights.

Oh boy there were a lot at mine.

In the 9th grade we had a bomb threat done by some girl and the guy she was dating, we had to spend the rest of the day at the Middle School down the block. They were in juvy until Junior year, and I'm pretty sure they're on opioids now.

Our High School was extremely racist, and at football games they faced off against another High School in the area from a city that was predominantly Hispanic and the parents would yell slurs and tell them to go back to their country. It made local news and was the start of a rivalry between the two teams. The School Board didn't care, also hence why I tried to act as white as possible all throughout High School. My foster brother, who was black and very dark skinned, played on the team and the coaches (one of which was my foster dad) as well as the other players always called him slurs.

At some party my junior year some kid was hazed and made to slaughter a goat and... yeah I'll leave it at that. I saw the snapchat stories myself (of the goat slaughter).

Also this one girl who got kicked out of the local tech school for doing inappropriate things in the women's room, got into a fight with another girl at prom and broke a mirror in, you guessed it, the girls bathroom. That bathroom was closed for a few days and I heard there was blood. I had P.E. with her and she was super greasy, rude, and degenerate, I'm glad she got suspended.

Long story short, most of the stereotypes about redneck America are true. And I was so ****ing happy to move out of my foster home and back to the city with my family after I graduated.

Two teachers at my school (both married) cheated on their respective partners with each other. They ended up getting married.

In another case, my English teacher was charged for drugging and raping his ex-girlfriend.

In "just-highschooler-things," we'd occasionally notice some girls not coming to class anymore. It was because they got pregnant.

A boy was collecting photos of nude, female students and trading/selling between other students.
IIRC some of the buyers were 18+. The school was pretty quick to keep it under wraps, but it did manage to end up on the news for our county at least. I think he ended up serving time, but I am not sure what else became of it.

not much really happened at my high school that I remember of, nor did I really keep up with any gossip. I'm from a generally well-off district though, so most students I hung around were just being pressured academically by their parents

I have two. This band teacher and his wife a few years ago would have three way you know what with a bunch of students. And then last year one of our brand new out of college science teachers did inappropriate things with a student. And when I was in middle school half my class got “arrested” for sending nudes... my school has been on the news many times. ^^”

Hmm,...I can't really think of anything big...I think probably just the students that got pregnant midway were the biggest shock to people. There were a few fights in the school that sometimes occurred - just the typical some boys or some girls that had a pointless issue with one another..

This was a very traumatic time in my life and I don't wish to revisit it in detail, but I will say it was a big deal when it happened. Why did it happen? Someone who was a trusted "friend" had involved me in it by violating my trust and talking about something he had no business telling anyone. Be very careful who you put your trust in. Also, I learned how corrupt the staff at my school were.

Westboro Baptist Church went to our school to protest. If you don't know what that is, it's basically a cult and hate group in the USA and many of their beliefs are probably something I'm not supposed to talk about on here.

A male student started wearing skirts and the principal and senior staff freaked out and prohibited it. So then because that’s problematic, students started protesting. Female students wore ties and male students wore skirts in protest. It didn’t result in anything lol. That was the scandal.

I stupidly became friends with that kid and I regretted it but at least he didn't shoot up the school.
Oh also, some kid set the Student Store on fire and it was on the news.
This doesn't count as a scandal but my high school had a lot of music videos and movies shot in it.​

I had 2.

First, a couple was FILMED having intercourse in the bathrooms and it spread like wildfire all around school. Idk who filmed it, but it wasn't the girl cause she was mortified. It wasn't a rare occurrence but not quite commonplace for couples (and not just cis het couples) to be caught doing that around school. It was just never filmed and spread (to my knowledge, I keep out of those types of things) like that before.

The second, which students were shocked at first but kinda got over it, a student got into the adult entertainment industry. I heard she dropped out but she did end up graduating so she may have just switched to online learning. Also, this was my senior year. Idk if she was 17 or 18 yet, but I'm gonna say (hope) it was 18 since this was near graduation.

Edit WAIT I THOUGHT A A THIRD ONE. There was word that a teacher was dating a former student who graduated a year before I did. So she was prob like 18 19 and the teacher is a grown man, probin his 40s, has a young child (like 8-10 maybe) and I think he's divorced.

a lot of these are really dark so i feel really weird abt saying this but when i was a sophomore a couple of seniors did a prank (releasing chickens into the school) they unleashed two but numbered them #1 and #3 which implied the existence of a third chicken. there was not and the teachers and staff went nuts trying to find it. we all got the day off so those seniors were super popular after that lol. oh and!!! there was this one gay boy i was friends with, and this one kid just came up to him in the hallway right in front of the central office and just socked him one, for no reason! then the principal (who was built like a brick house btw) came out of the office and tackled the kid and the kid started punching him too everyone in the hallway was like 👁👁

- There was also another fight that happened literally right next to me while me and my friends were eating lunch. Ended with one kid getting his shirt ripped off and people were clapping and yelling "GIBBY!!!"

We had this american idol winner perform at our highschool because he graduated from there. The whole school had to watch in the football stadium or the alternative was to write an essay.

After his song, some girl outran the body guards and tried to leap onto the stage. She didn't make it. I didn't know who she was and what happened after that.

Another one was during a football game, and it was during halftime or something. Two sophomores ran streaking across the field wearing socks (lol). They ran into this canyon/hillside to get away. Might've been a getaway car waiting for them, idk.

But the police were called and found them. It just seemed way too harsh to involve the police for this dumb act. They should've just got suspended/detention. I have no idea if they had something put on their permanent record.

Nothing too major. All I remember is that I think the year before I joined the marching band, a couple did it on a band bus ride and the girl got pregnant from it.
