What's your opinion on emojis/emoticons? Do you use them?

I rarely use them since I don’t think they fit my personality very well. Every time I’ve tried using one in conversation it felt forced. If I’m memeing or something I will use emojis like though.

Of the three I like kaomoji the best. They cover a wide variety of emotions well and are generally pretty cute.

I don't really use them. Only most recent i used them a lot is when i bump my thread in tbt marketplace. Otherwise its not often.

I really like emojis and emoticons, both classic and modern!! There's just something about them that adds that little personal touch to messages, additionally - it's really great for indicating the tone of the message for me

Also, I'm really not able to convey the emotion of XD in text, it's just impossible to me, so I use it quite often specifically when texting with my friends on messenger

I really like the first two! And I enjoy kaomoji but I don't usually use them myself. If you've seen my posts you probably know I very rarely post one without some kind of emoji (see) I tend to be a bit sarcastic so I use them to set the tone and let people who may not know me as well know that I'm just playing.

Yeah, I use them, and I tend to like them. I've grown up on ASCII (AKA classic) emoticons through various forums during my early years on the internet, and I still use them every now and then these days. I didn't really get a chance to use (modern) emojis until, like, 2017 or somewhere around there, but I've grown into using them as well, since it does open up different ways of being able to express myself in messages.

As for kaomojis, they are something I've never used outside of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ since I love the shrugging kaomoji, lol. I know it's a lot easier to access them these days thanks to the shortcut they added in Windows 10, but, eh.

i couldn’t be bothered to use them much when i was younger, but i started using them a lot more as i got older and became more involved in social media and different online communities. my emoji usage highkey peaked when i returned from my tbt hiatus in 2020 tbh. sometimes i worry that i overuse them or don’t always use one/s that best match what i’m saying, but i feel weird whenever i send a message or post something without using at least 1 emoji in it. idk, i just feel like they help make things i say friendlier and lighthearted and less awkward.

my favourites and the ones i use most often are the modern and classic emojis, but kaomojis are adorable as well! ^~^

I love emojis I like the newer ones and the older ones - sometimes I prefer one over the other. For example I prefer to use o: to the default emoji because I feel like they give off different vibes. Generally though, I love adding the lil emojis to my texts, I think they're cute. I don't go as far as some and write out whole messages with them, lol, but I sprinkle them in here and there. I really love how the Kaomoji's look but I don't have the patience to write them out

As @/Neb said above, they really don’t fit my personality. I really only use them in chat when I’m close with the person. I find it difficult to open up to some people, and I have a tendency to use emojis when I’m comfortable around a person.

If it’s just a random person or an acquaintance, it’s out of character for me to use emojis. The most I’ll use is text emojis very casually in posts, but not in actual conversation.

My first experience with emojis was the kind you make on a keyboard, since AC:NL was really the only mode of virtual communication I had as a child. I still use them on occasion, but definitely prefer the modern ones that come ready to go on a phone

I might’ve forgotten to comment on kaomojis- honestly, I only like certain ones. I think if people use them all the time it feels excessive. Not really a kaomoji, but the smiling shrug is pretty good though.

Always preferred classic. I used to HATE modern emojis… but now I’ve learned to accept them

I LOVE EMOJI'S!! They are so cute and add a perfect amount of cuteness and color to any messages! I like the old ones with keyboard signs too because they are adorbs but my favorite is the modern ones!

I prefer the classic ones, but if I need to use a modern one because it fits the tone of my message better, I will. It just depends on context. (On that note, I hate it when people put an emoji after every word in a sentence… please don’t)

I like emojis and I use them a fair bit, mostly the "modern" ones but sometimes a classic emoticon just fits the mood better. For example : ) feels nice and less intense than any of the kind of stuff. I also use X D sometimes because that's it's own mood and of course 0: - ) because I'm an angel The way that Discord allows you to use any emoji to react is one of my favourite things that I get a lot of chuckles out of (would not want that for here though).

i used to be an avid emoji hater but i've grown to love them! i only use a handful of modern emojis, mostly because i need something silly to put in my messages. kaomojis are cute and i like using them when i can but i can't be bothered to find them most of the time, especially on a computer. classic emojis are the best though, easy to make!

I used to absolutely hate emojis and now I don't mind them as much except for some specific ones I don't like. I've even used some when talking to friends.

I like them. I like all the options existing on the modern. But I'm also ok not having emojis. I just see it as a nice thing to use if you want.
I don't know what these kinds ☼❀☂ are, but I like them because they are black and white and pair better with words. Unfortunately I can't get to them on my phone, and I don't know the keys to get them off my keyboard, so if I use them, they have to be in a menu or I have to copy it from someplace else, or Google key for x if I remember x exists. Kind of a hassle.
If modern ever has the option for black in white versions for stuff in the future, I'll be using those.
