What's your opinion on emojis/emoticons? Do you use them?

I love the modern emojis, I love the classic emojis. I love all of the emojis. I don't tend to use the kaomoji, but they're still very cute. (✿◠‿◠)

Kaomoji are my favorite! They're cute and expressive, and there's a lot of room for customization to get the ~nuance~ just right. d(´▽｀*) Although there's certain classic text emotes that I tend to use more often for the sake of convenience—ones like "c:" "^^" and ";v;/;u;/;w;" are my favorites. There's a couple more I'll use less often, but there's also a lot of text emotes I just don't like the look of and try to avoid using. And I'll never get over the embarrassment of teenage me using a rather inappropriate one because I thought it was meant to represent a smiling person in glasses.

I like a lot of regular emoji too! Especially simple/aesthetic-y ones like the hearts and stuff. Though sometimes I struggle switching between different sets of the face emoji, because sometimes the expressions read as completely different to me. feels like a very different emotion than

to me.

In general I just like having something I can include in my text posts to show the mood is lighthearted! I fret a lot over how my tone comes across online and how exactly to phrase things best, so these little things are helpful.

Kaomoji are my favorite, but I use the classic emoticons more often as they’re quicker. :^) I do like using some emoji sometimes, mainly just the aesthetic ones like

I used the text emojis a lot when I was younger. Some I used often were c:, :c, , XD, T_T, ^^, , and D:. I don't really use those anymore, but I do use modern emojis sometimes

I don't really have opinions about emojis and emoticons. I use both the classic style and the modern ones fairly regularly. I've never really used kaomoji since I didn't even know there was even a separate name for that style, and also use a computer as opposed to a phone for typing, so don't generally have access to different characters like that. I'd probably use those sometimes if they were more accessible/if I knew where to look for inputs.

I only tollerate kaomoji's anything else to me can be seen as blasphemy epsecially since alot of times emoji's especially among gen-z are way too overused and the slang especially yeah ew ew and ew.

i mostly love using the classic ones!! occasionally I'll use the modern ones, mostly the sob one (except i avoid using them here cuz BOY they're ugly now) i like kaomojis too and i want to use them more but i feel cringe for using them

I prefer emoticons outside of TBT because...I come off as a mature person when I use them, I guess. :) Whenever I type in an emoticon I would usually use here (without the code formatting) it converts into an emoji. So basically I use emojis here more than emoticons because of this. I like the design there so I don't mind.

I don't mind if others use them. I'm incredibly random about my own usage. I might use them several times at once, or trail on and on while completely forgetting they exist.

It's been over a month since my first post here and my stance on these symbols has changed quite a bit.

I tend to use both of them depending on the situation. When I'm comfortable enough, I like to use a mix of emojis and emoticons. In spaces where I'm not familiar, it's pure emoticons; I don't want people to bash me for using emojis just because they're "overused".

I don't mind if others use emojis, emoticons, text-based ones ect. There can probably be times they aren't appropriate depending on the context, but overall I don't mind if others use them in their content. I haven't seen it here, but in an ATLA forum I used to frequent there was one member that always went full blast with them where there were rows and rows of them. Or they would somehow actually stretch the threads so you would have to scroll to the left and right to read a post. That got annoying. I am glad no one here really does that lol!
