Who are your permanent villagers, and who do you plan to move away?

Least Permanent (I don't necessarily want them to leave, but if the right villagers come along these would be the first to go)

-Rory (would probably only replace with a Jock just to keep 1 of every personality)

I don't get a whole lot of villager variety in this town (I think I've had the same set of villagers for over 6 months now, aside from the lazy who has changed a couple times since). Luckily for that I have a second Switch with another copy of the game (or at least, I will once it gets back from being repaired) so I'll be a bit more willing to let villagers come and go fairly regularly from that island to experience more of them.

I feel like none of my villagers are really permanent on my island- Apart from Alfonso and Wolfgang. They are my two main boys, and under no circumstances will they be leaving. They are prisoners on my island.

I used to also say that Julian was permanent, but I have recently being thinking of letting him go, because I really want to get Papi. I love my fabulous blue unicorn, but I might let him go soon.

Everyone else is just in rotation. My villagers change all the time. I can never stick to the same 10 for very long. If you wanna know who I currently have, look in my signature because of laziness I don't feel like listing them all.

I don't consider any of my villagers permanent, although in saying that I can't imagine wanting to let go of Goose or Katt anytime soon.

right now, my permanent villagers are margie, audie, sprinkle, whitney, fuchsia, zucker and beau whereas i plan to move out deirdre, pashmina and moe as soon as i get their photos.

Raymond and Audie aren't going anywhere; Octavian as well. Past those three it's deciding between Marshal or Dom next then even more difficult decisions come about.

The only ones that are truly permanent for me are my two snooty (Olivia, Vivian) and two cranky (Apollo, Vic) villagers. Though if the Zelda villagers ever came back, I could see myself maybe replacing one of the crankies for Ganon.

Most of the villagers are considered "long-term" and they can stay as long as they want. What it really means is that I'll refuse their request to leave the island a few times before I eventually give in and agree to them leaving.

The ones that don't fit either permanent or long-term status is Marcie and Boomer.
I've never really cared for Marcie, but I wanted to at least get her pic before I send her on her way. But now I'm deciding to just settle for her poster, like I did with Sprinkle. I just want her gone at this point. Boomer's a little bit different, he was considered a long-term (almost permanent) resident, but his status has been revoked with the Sanrio update. I'll let him stay as long as possible for the photo, but he'll eventually be replaced by Marty.

Everyone I have currently are permanent. I'm kind of attached to them and I'm also way too lazy to search for new villagers and fix my landscaping to suit those villagers:

If I'm really itching for new faces, I would temporarily move out Scoot, Ursala, Dizzy, or Ken with random Amiibo villagers I own. I have the cards for those villagers listed so I would feel comfortable letting them leave and inviting them back again.

I've been much more open with my villagers in New Horizons, meaning I don't really have many permanent villagers in mind except for a few exceptions. I feel like it's part of the game now, you're kinda supposed to have randos come and go. I've realised that my fixation on getting all my wanted villagers in previous games ruined my aspirations and dedication to the rest of the games' features; particularly New Leaf...which I have never really had a finished town on despite owning the game since it's release.


As for my New Horizons residents ~

Aurora, Antonio, Flora, Marina, Raymond and Reneigh are my only pre-planned permanent residents from a year ago. However, I've had Raddle and Tasha on my island for the same amount of time that I've had Antonio, Aurora, Raymond and Reneigh who have been around the longest amount of time. I'm very fond of all my residents, luckily I have some of their amiibo and I'm a bit more open to trying new residents every now and then so they aren't really susceptible to being here forever.

The only residents that I know won't ever move out are Aurora, Raymond and Reneigh; this is purely because I don't have amiibo cards for them/ Raymond and Reneigh are a special case because they still don't have official amiibo cards for them!

I'm quite attached to all my current villagers and I don't see myself making any changes! I've considered swapping Mira for Pashmina as my resident Uchi, but I do love Mira a lot so I don't know if I will, haha.

I probably won't! She was one of my starting villagers in New Leaf, actually! So when I booted up the game and saw that she was also one of my starting islanders in New Horizons, it was very cute and felt like she moved here with me from my old town. Guess my only gripe would be because she was a starter, she has the ugly starter house interior, but I can live with that. I do have the outside of her home decorated as a diner, so it would have been super cool with Pashmina's interior, which is also a diner.

I used to think I would keep Julian and Peanut forever, but one has already been kicked and the other is not far behind.

I spent a lot of time curating my villager list based on design and color palette, and that means I thoroughly looked through my options and I have a pool of backups who are an acceptable color + personality + design if someone I'm less attached to wants to move.

but most of my villagers are permanent unless my feelings change. I just recently let Julia move out because it felt right and because I had been wanting to have Opal move in.

the only villager I am willing to let move if asked is Julian because he is my only blue villager at this point and he doesn't really fit the theme of my island as well as some other villagers would if I replaced him. But I'm not in a rush to have him move or anything because I still really like him and recently set up a really intricate front yard tarot stand for him :3

I currently don't have Bones, Marshal or Pekoe on my island but I have their amiibos and can bring them home any time. I know I only listed 9 but I have a dilemma: I have Poppy on my island right now and I love her, but I don't know if I want to keep her or bring back Marina. Plus with the Sanrio villagers coming... I really need Nintendo to let us have more than 10. I would gladly pay for an expansion!

Right now my only absolute permanent villager is Lucky. I love him so much and I don't have his amiibo so I will never let him leave lol. Other than that, I have a lot of villager's amiibos that I want to move in so I'm deciding on who I'm going to move out. Plus I have the sanrio villager amiibos as well so once that is available later this month I'll definitely want to move at least one of them in. I so wish that we had more villager spaces, ten is no where near enough, even with amiibos which gives me the ability to move those I like back onto my island later on

The villagers I have for my first and second island are permanent so far.
First island: Ruby, Skye, Jay, Tammy, Flora, Dom, Sherb, Audie, Stella, and Tybalt
Second island: Bruce, Teddy, Apollo, Melba, Lily, Tutu, Wade, and Merengue (may move her out one day, but not anytime soon). I do not see this island having 10 villagers as I already have 8 of the human characters on this island lol.
