I had a discussion with a Japanese friend once and what's the trend with people putting numbers in their username. I asked them, why? They said because it's not easily copied (assuming in their opinion, numberless accounts are easily imitated) and more "cool" for them. Some put their birthday but usually it's for a cool factor.
Same with people having XxX in their username or so. It's cool.
Western-wise, I guess it's more like usually youngsters (eg. 12 year olds back in 2001 used numbers or XxX format) who do so but people who've done it are already old in this day and age. Probably too attached or have no means to edit them?
1. I didn't know exactly what this forum was when I signed up... didn't know what was visible (I'm a tech noob)
2. What do you make your username for a ac forum anyways??
With my username it's purposeful because it's leet- though I missed a number lol now this is my name.
I've only ever put numbers in my name if numberless is taken. My old smashboards name was "Billcypher3" because Billcypher was already taken and there's 3 points in a triangle ( hence the reason for using Number 3 when getting the username by. )
when I was younger I was obsessed with 0 and 9 and I used to play this virtual world game so at the end of my name I would add 09 at the end. idk why I thought it looked super cool
but now i don't really like having numbers at the end, people usually do it if the username they want is taken. if that happens to me I just scrap the whole idea and then think of a brand new name lol
