Your opinion on something....

Sometimes it can be helpful when they gang up though. If one user says that a certain user is a scammer and other witnesses are there to confirm that said user is a scammer, then it helps other people better protect themselves. Wi-fi ratings on TBT don't cover all transactions that take place on the forums.

I have to disagree. I don't think 'ganging up' on anybody can ever be helpful. It's just not a kind thing to do, especially if the person who is being ganged up on is quite young. We all make mistakes sometimes. There was somebody on here not long ago who was selling a villager for tbt, I don't know if they ever actually had that villager or not as the person who was buying them said they were having to try and get them from the void. They paid in advance and the person spent those bells within a matter of minutes of them being transferred. The person who had bought the villager never got them from the void, and quite rightly wanted their tbt returned but it was of course too later. This then led to other users who had nothing to do with the situation ganging up on this kid for being a scammer. They weren't contributing anything to help the situation, they weren't offering to give the buyer back their bells, they simply were ganging up on this person and telling them how awful they were. The situation was resolved in the end as the buyer understood how upset the kid was about what they'd done. As far as I know, they got the bells back.
Nobody can tell me that the behaviour of people having a go at that kid was in anyway useful. It was just plain bullying. Nobody likes scammers or being scammed, I've had it done to me, but there are ways of dealing with things.

i joined tbt when i was 12 and now i am 16
personally i love seeing children grow up on tbt tbh

It's a pretty kid friendly place, what with all the censors and whatnot. I mean, If they're less than ten, than it may be an issue, but if they're a mature thirteen year old who knows how to be safe online, than yeah. I mean, for all we know, we could all be lying about our age here. People do it all the time. Heck, I did it when I was a few years younger, so I'd be a hypocrite if I said that you need to be over thirteen to be on the internet. I know third graders with Instagram, for Pete's sake. Also, I am not going to say my true age, but let's just say I am in my teens.

TBH, the whole internet isn't really kid friendly imo. We can't stopem though. All we can do is hope.

most people are already immature enough

there are youngins that u wouldn't even b able to tell their age though, and 25+ year olds that act like 13 year olds

so ya it's more about maturity i guess

Some people are very mature for their age. I don't know if I'm considered "young" (I'm 16), but I think it depends on what your mental age is.
I usually don't like "children" too much (like people under the age of 10), but everyone I've talked to here are very kind and nice, and I don't know how old everyone are that I talk to. :)

Personally I don't care how old you are, everyone is welcome to join this community! :)

Lets be real. This is the internet. You should be aware that this is a public place, where literally anyone can go and post things. You can't avoid younger people here, as it's a forum based off of a game aimed at kids.

Just be kind, and be understanding.

I don't think the issues are the kids themselves but rather laws forcing people to cater over-protectiveness and must absolutely avoid showing cuss words or things to them so they don't know better or something like it. And yeah since it's the internet they could find stuff easily other ways (I'm not saying we should encourage bad behavior here, but sometimes the rules are really double at times...)

And while it's common sense not to post porn or racist content etc. and this might have to be off-topic with the OP's opinion and such I don't think all the members here are 9 yo's just discovering the web. Also if it would have been an actual kids' forum I don't think half of the stuff here would have been allowed anyways js.

I didn't even know forums existed as a 10 year old so kudos to all you young people here (':

TBT is in a strange limbo as far as rule enforcement goes. Nearly every time I've ****posted it's gotten a warning but a lot of profanity in a very public signature link was ignored. I'm guessing the mods are unsympathetic to SJW abuse and a comic that highlights it and their sheer hypocrisy was deemed acceptable. I'm not complaining, it broke up Brewster's SJW dogpile and ran two of them out of here so it did its job.

Also I agree, it has rules to make it more kid friendly and it largely is but some of the threads here in Brewster's would definitely be inappropriate. They've nuked certain threads but others stay open. Can't win them all I suppose. :p

Yeah it is and how they actually care about other languages too when some people use it and when other don't. But yeah if they say they want it to be a kid/friendly forum tbh half of the things in Brewster would/should have been gone. But yeah can't win 'em all over indeed. And yeah that dogpile is/was bad with people going instant trigger on everything and can't read between the rows (or won't because it makes them look cool).

Considering this is a forum for a Nintendo game, it's more than valid.

And you really shouldn't think of tweens as little kids - when we were that age we could already think for ourselves and be the same person we are now, just more gullible and naive.

When people posting make you 'cringe' you really have some growing up to do yourself. Just let them post and enjoy the forum with them, instead of making fun of them.

The entire social justice movement is defined by its intolerant, immature stupidity over the pettiest things. Luckily the worst of them have gone or toned down their BS and while some remain they are easy enough to ignore. And if they're triggered...

Let them throw a temper tantrum and be the bigger man. ;)

Here's an idea: set age restrictions on certain threads.

Anything that the OP is worried about being offensive to anybody could just tag it as NSFW and it would only appear to people registered under a certain age.
