Yeah no, that's not happening unless there is compelling evidence against them. An example of this is if one of them dies and they aren't what they say they are, but that is too big of a risk for them to take. I have a funny feeling that SOMETHING is off about them, so that's why I'm reluctant to completely clear them. But as of right now? They're not on the chopping block.

This is rather na?ve. They are confirmed to be linked but they are certainly not confirmed town. If Punchy had made the claim as mafia and Dolby were on his scum team then the safest option would be for Dolby to go along with it. IMO neither are confirmed town until they're dead.

I don't want to see Punchy/Dolby as president. Even in regular TBT games masons often have a 'catch', and this is an experimental game at that. Dolby's use of "straight mason" (instead of simply saying "mason", which would have been more natural) has me doubting they are what they say they are. I suspect that there is more to this than they let on. For example one could turn SK if the other dies.

I've more I want to say about the two of them, but that will be once I'm at a computer in about 30 mins and mass quoting will be easier. But long-story short I think we should carry on with the belief that while the two are alive they are most likely to be town than scum but that neither should receive the position of president.

However, I definitely agree with you (Ness) that they should not be lynched.
 
Yeah, "confirmed town" is a pretty strong claim, so that's why I said the thing in my second post prior to this one. I do think there is something shady about the two of them, which is why I'm reluctant to completely clear them.
 
Tbh, this seems like you guys don?t know the difference between lovers and masons. No, we don?t die when the other dies, and I have literally never seen a masons catch like Tina suggests (have I seen a catch like that for lovers? Yes. For masons? No. Moreover I find the concept of ones alignment changing(not role, alignment and win condition) midgame stupid, and urge you accept Punchy or myself as confirmed town should one of us die)

Basically, I find the proposed ?masons changing alignments thing? really a poor argument, and actually I kinda find Tina scummy because of this. Is this OMGUS? Yes, and this is probably the first time that I OMGUSEd in the full sense of it in the entire history of my career, because I legit find the concept of alignment change really Sus. Vanessa doesn?t get a free pass, but she?s treating my claim like a liver rather than mason, so i guesd that?s fine.

Okay I went into this certain I didn't want to see Dolby/Punchy president and now I am kind of second guessing myself. :/ Had this been completely orchestrated by Punchy then I think it would more likely have been a mafia play, but there's no reason for Dolby to have established a link this early with Punchy if they were scum together prior to Punchy announcing they were linked. In fact a scum!Dolby would have tried hard to avoid this. I think if they were scum together it's not something that Dolby would have been keen to help set up.

I'm still uncertain though. I don't like that Punchy started making up false win cons instead of talking straight. And I still feel off about Dolby's unnatural word choice of "straight mason". I also felt his reaction to Punchy's post with: "Oh ffs Punchy, I know that I said that I wanted one of us elected, but I wasn?t that desparete. Wtf have you done" (here) feels forced. So while part of me feels these two are not mafia-aligned something does not feel right about them. And given that we know Punchy lied to us, and I suspect Dolby has too, I don't want to take the risk of potentially having an anti-town president with bodyguard protect.

Actually, I was thinking of lovers as well. If you look in my previously hosted games I give mason roles typical lover-type abilities. e.g. Caxnival. And Karla got mad at me for it in The Siren's Call IIRC.
 
Okay so now Dolby's cleared that up things make a hell of a lot more sense. And I actually think he would be the best choice for president, as I already ruled Dolby/Punchy being mafia in my post #188.

Also in Caxnival the masons both died when one of them died and that is the only game with masons I have played in

On page 14, TBT is so damn unreliable right now it's a chore just changing pages. But I'm getting seriously bad vibes from Punchy's incessant and secretive Dolby campaign. Either Punchy knows Dolby's role cuz they're lovers or something, or they're mafs, or Punchy's TP and gets his wincon fulfilled if Dolby wins the presidency or something.

Overall I feel punchy is townish, but the pro-Dolby mysteriousness is of increasing concern the more I read
 
Sorry for being so inactive everyone! (My inbox was full, so I had to empty it and wait for Trundle to be able to send my role PM before I could begin posting.)

Anyways, I'm gonna read up on the thread and post my thoughts when I'm all caught up.
