Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.
TBH, no. The 3DS was a fantastic system, but the Switch beats it in every technical way (paid online aside... Which is bad). The Switch is a much more comfortable system to play than the 3DS and Animal Crossing New Horizons looks gorgeous.
I never grew super attached to New Leaf. I played it when it came out and haven't played it consistently since probably late summer of the year it released, so it's not like I'm giving up NL or anything. I stopped playing it a long time ago.
I still regularly use my 3DS so I'm not missing it. Not sure when (if ever) I'll stop using it. If the hardware ends up breaking down I'll definitely miss it but hopefully I shouldn't have to worry about that for at least the next decade.
I also use my 3DS for many hours a day, so I don't have to miss it. I even play it when I busy with other stuff. I've owned a Switch for many months now and I have some amazing games for it, but the 3DS is just too good, I couldn't abandon it (then again I haven't really abandoned any game consoles I own).
There's a lot of games that i love playing, like Pokemon OR/UM and SM3DL. Plus I can play all my DS games on there as well. When I'm not playing a game on there, I'm drawing on Colors 3D, which is currently the best drawing program that I own, or doing something with the Sound app (yes I still use that lol).
I doubt I'm ever going to abandon it. It's a very fun and convenient game console. I'll probably end up wearing it out before I stop playing it
I definitely miss the 3ds and ds in general but I love the switch, it is sad that animal crossing new leaf will no longer be played much because it was a terrific game and I love it so much, but I'm pumped for the new one
The 3DS and all of its iterations is my favorite gaming device and has an incredible library of games. We have 3 Switches that will be used for games, mainly New Horizons, but there's no way they will replace the slightly older system and definitely will not make us drop New Leaf. So, no, the 3DS and New Leaf will not be missed because they aren't going anywhere!
No because I'm still on mine all the time and don't plan to stop playing New Leaf just because a new one's coming out. Plus I have tons of other games to complete that require that system.
I mean i still play the 3DS and probaby will for a long time, the switch is amazing and all but I prefer the simplier yet awesome games that are on the 3ds, plus buying games for it rn is so cheap!
I have many good memories from the 3DS and its games, but have spent very little time on it since I got the Switch... still, I just got back to playing New Leaf (and started playing 3DS again to download a game from 3DS eshop before that) and I still have a few 3DS (and also DS!) games I'm planning to finish or buy some day... though I spend more time on my newer, current-gen consoles I sometimes go back to my old ones if there's a game I want to play on it.
As for 3DS/DS features I liked, the double screen was nice, made new kinds of games possible and was conveinent for others, and the resistive touchscreen with stylus was also fun (and convenient for certain games) - when it comes to gaming I prefer a stylus-based touchscreen to finger-touch (depends on the game, but I can think of several DS games that wouldn't work too well on a capacitive screen...)
i've recently gotten into the harvest moon series and have a ds and a 3ds version on the go, so i will still be using my 3ds a lot, there is also a chance i will be picking up a 3rd harvest moon game to add to the rotation later this week. My 3ds hasn't worked this hard in a while.
The 3ds is a dead console for me. I didn't play much on it except NL. I am more a PS4 player and not really Nintendo. I still own the consoles because there are a few great games like Zelda and Xenoblade. But no I don't miss the 3ds it's time is up. That's the fate of every console or handheld
Nope, I still plan to play New Leaf to a degree once New Horizons comes out, and probably till there is no WiFi. Even if I did stop playing it, I have played the game since the USA release month and have done all I could pretty much do. I would not be opposed to focusing more if not entirely on New Horizons as I got my fill.
I still play on my 3DS, but I don't really see myself playing anything but animal crossing for a while when it comes out so all of my other gaming systems are probably going to be ignored. I've loved my DS's over the years, and I still see myself playing plenty of things on there. I still use my original DS to play gameboy games on.
