I don't really know how to explain the psychology behind it, but the tendency to scumread someone who's townreading you even though you're scummy if often a scum motive to make person B look bad when person A flips scum but that method never actually works. Dolby made a good point earlier about how if Punchy was town, he'd be grasping at any chance to be saved by siding with anyone who townreads him.

Yeah I have sort've been coasting but I generally tend to get townread easily regardless of my alignment. Also Antonio didn't really sus me it was more of an OMGUS list of the people who scumread him. Yes Antonio's probably town but that doesn't mean his judgement is necessarily town motivated, cos he sort of seems to be playing for himself.

Also Dolby's on a plane, rip when he lands in Iceland lol

first bit: punchys never been scum in a game before, so im not sure if hed be experienced enough to pull smth like that off. if it was any other player i would agree with u here but its either town punchy genuinely sussing me for defending himself cos he thinks hes stupid and deserves to die or its scum punchy being told what to do in maf chat, could go either way

second bit: idk how i failed to mention how i think antonio is probably bad town, but ye. still kinda worth considering but not really tbh

I'm like 70% sure punchy is scum. I agree with Vanessa about the scum slip but punchy confuses everyone, especially in the last game when the town lynched him as town. I'm willing to vote punchy (if he is bomb as well) but I'm not really that busy anymore. Also, I noticed in mafia that everyone usually keep the discussion on a few people at a time (day wise). I don't know if it's mafia trying to promote someone else's Lynch by avoiding to carry on discussion (not reads) about other people but I think we should talk about other people, especially the ones who has contributed little to the mafia. Of course, punchy is probably scum.

im not sure if todays lynch is very important tbh, assuming theres 4 mafia with 2 kp with a generous extra strongarm or smth at their disposal, as well as us lynching every day, and its probably 13 : 1 : 4 in terms of town : tp : mafia ratio, weve still got at least 2 mislynches before we lose or reach lylo/mylo, ofc disregarding what punchys bomb could do

like every lynch is important sure but we can afford to take our time imo

actually thinking through that has made me want a punchy lynch a bit less, his bomb is a lot more potentially dangerous from both a town and maf persepctive, while lynching someone else has far less drastic consequences for failure

Day Three post

I would very much like for KermitsTea and Amanda1983 to post their reads on players in this game. If you don't wish to do leads, then maybe bring up mafia leans you have on people ?

last post before bedtime, two things

(1) TINA OPEN THE VOTING THREAD PLEASE

(2) as much as the punchy discussion is beneficial, I think we should also spend some time this day phase focusing on the next lynch targets after this. Punchy is 97% likely to flip scum and we need to not forget that there's probably two(+?) more teammates of his running around still. And as my last rushed reads illustrates, I'm having a hard time figuring out who the last two (or three) could be

Vanessa, KermitsTea, Trundle -> who do you think are good lynch candidates ? If I had to answer the same question I think Dolby could have been on to something when he said this:

So I would be willing to discuss those two and settle on a lynch later down the road. Knowing that Dolby was 100% Town, I think we can assume he was potentially going in the right direction with his reads. I feel like he generally has a good read on players and him narrowing down his list for us, is pretty important to be using right now. I think we cleared the fact that Dolby did not die due to the bomb strapped to Pinchy so he must have been a mafia kill ? Maybe they killed him because he was on to them and they knew it was a good time because ( assuming Ponchy is Town ) everyone wanted to automatically lynch Panchy. He was playing a strong game for us and we have every opportunity to use what he left behind to continue our game.

Other than that I would not be opposed to a Penchy lynch. I think if anything his lynch will give us a bit more information due to how hard people are going for it / how hard people are going against it.

I honestly think the only safe lynch for today is Punchy. If not today, and if Punchy is town, mafia will not kill them and we will spend the rest of the game wondering if Punchy is scum or not.

As fearful as we are about lynching punchy, I think there is no way we should NOT lynch him. He's the center of a raging ****storm and his continued presence will only be a nagging issue as we keep going forward

I also agree that Punchy is always going to be one of those flip/flop is he Town or Mafia player for the rest of this game. He is a distraction and I really am not happy about that. What if he is Town and just messed up badly ( although he specifically did guess those things .. ) ? What if he is Mafia trying to get himself out of a lynch ? He was very confident during the time the voting thread was closed. Will he go through with things once it is opened ? Is he trying to test his luck ? WHO KNOWS, AND I HATE IT. He could literally be the one to slide to the end and win it for his mafia team or make us lose a lynch if he is actually Town.

Tina made her last game so that your flavour name could easily be used wouldn’t gaining any repercussions. In other words, she didn’t give scum safe claims bc their names were already fine to claim.

Flavour was scum based though but it can be easily twisted anyway so I wouldn’t really take that into account.

Giving flavour text as part of a fake role-claim seems like a really basic thing to do in a game like this. I would be beyond astounded if that hasn't happened.

I've found that Tina ran Caxnival. Idk what the safe-claims were like yet.

Right now my biggest town read is Heyden (now that Dolby is dead may he rest in peace). I think we honestly need to lynch Punchy at this point, and I'm willing to vote first/last/whatever makes sense based on the information Punchy gave. I also still am not 100% on you, Kayla, so I'm scared you're screwing us all over like in TBT Mafia II.

Well. If I were mafia would I really let a JOAT get lynched after Night One ? He had multiple abilities which means he was very useful. Not only that, but when people dropped Tom as a lynch candidate I consistently made sure to bring him up and push for him to get lynched. Not many people wanted to lynch "inactive" Tom but I did. So if I were mafia why wouldn't I just drop Tom altogether ? I literally helped the mafia KP drop ( I think because no one else is claiming a hit ?? ). Not only that but if I were mafia I would obviously let Dolby get lynched over a mafia JOAT ?? Especially since it was only Night One which means he still had abilities left to do.

People literally did not want to lynch Tom. If I were mafia all I would have to do is sit back and keep my JOAT / mafia KP. Dolby was set to be lynched.

If punchy flips scum then I would say we should look into Trundle/glow/dad and maybe Fireninja because I can see FN randomly voting Punchy at the start of D1 as a means of distancing, but that's based off of memory instead of analysis.

I've lowkey been toying with punchy MAYBE being town just based off of things he's been saying, with him maybe being hit by Dolby and the fact he's been cooperating with people on who to "sacrifice". Nevertheless I still think it makes more sense for him to be scum, I'm just starting to feel really conflicted on this
