Mafia Call the Ships to Port: Game Thread - END GAME - TOWN VICTORY!

Evan was going very hard for more than a few minutes that you scumslipped. He wouldn't do that if you were both scum together
Mhm... Okay. Thanks for answering my question.

Play to win.
You should try your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. Clearly not playing towards your win objective will be grounds for a modkill and personal ban from me. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing.

From main post^

I'm confused now, how is playing to your win objective a bad thing?

It isn't, the way that Ryumia was playing and refusing to answer questions made it seem like a Hostile TP slip.

Oh ok! Ry, in order to prove that you are playing to win then you should cooperate with people who are questioning you. Otherwise, people become suspicious and think you are hiding something.

Ness kind of already told me. But... Thanks anyways. Though I would like to play the game on my terms.

The objective is to win for your role after all.

This is what ryumia originally said that set off my alarm bells about hostile TP/scumslipping. playing to win for your ROLE heavily implies ryu is hostile TP, since TPs play to win on their own conditions, as opposed to a factional wincon for town/mafia. But then I looked at the one game she played before this and she said something very similar as town, so that significantly weakens my argument

I disagree with that. To me... I think the entire point of the game is to achieve the win condition of the role that one receives.

ohai Vanessa, welcome

thoughts, town/scumreads, who to lynch, anything would be appreciated when you get the chance

Hey y'all, at a choir rehearsal right now but I'm already caught up on the game and I'll post thoughts later tonight

ok, thanks for the clarification. im just kinda terrified of a you/kayla/dad/glow or we scum team rn, no matter how unlucky that would be
I can confidently say there's never been a scenerio where a team is this over powered. I want to say if you throw Tom into that mix, 2 of those 5 is definitely a big possibility.
Dolby>Dad>Kayla>Glow in terms of scumminess, IMO, and Tom hasn't posted enough for me to put him anywhere on that. But in this size game I'm willing to believe there are 2 really strong mafia players. Not including the other really talented players in this game which brings me to:

Jacob - someone felt confident enough to give him two votes, and his expressed interest in voting Tom fairly quickly gives me confidence he's town. I don't think he'd bus his teammate that early in d2.
This read feels really fabricated to me.

1. I haven't mentioned Tom's name like hardly all game, let alone express interest in his lynch D2. Maybe you're thinking of someone else? The only person I really mentioned today was Dolby for the snipes.

2. You sound really confident in Tom being mafia, basing my play off of his role as if he was revealed to be mafia.
Are you and Tom scum buddies?

I need to catch up aswell, what do people with blue roles mean?
Huge red flag for me. Clearly he knows about the encyclopedian (source is quote below), absolutely no need to ask these kind of questions in the thread, especially for a player with previous game experience.

claim what

Claim - the act of publicly stating a player's role in the thread.

Tom?s been online several times and I?m gonna assume he knows he?s under the chopping block but is doing nothing ugh. A bit conflicted now bc I really feel he?s scum but idk. I have 3 assessments to do over the weekend so I?m not sure I?ll be able to provide much sorry guys.

Also I did want to say that I don't think Tom should be the lynch candidate for today unless he starts talking, we just saw what lynching an inactive looks like. META on Tom's activity is pretty obsolete in a game with like 21 players left

- - - Post Merge - - -

And to further that sentiment I THINK mafia would be really on board lynching Tom if he isn't out to save himself, he's a really valuable lynch if he does turn out to be town.

I'd be much more ok lynching ryumia over Tom should it come down to the two

ALSO who's to say that Tom's being active in the scum chat? If he's ignoring the thread and getting sussed over it to the point of being voted, why would he only be active in the scum chat? He wouldn't have helped with the kills at all, and would be deadweight to mafia team.

Idk if I missed a post or something but where did this come from? It seems kinda random and specific to bring up

Should Tom be mafia, you just gave him a safety blanket to use ( see bold statement ). So now he will probably not post like usual, slip under the radars like usual, and keep coasting. Like I said at the beginning, because everyone kept yelling "We aren't lynching inactives" I'm sure at least some players on the mafia team are using that to stay alive.

Why would a mafia want to reduce their KP ? That doesn't make any sense to me. Can someone confirm how to calculate mafia kp ? Should we take out one mafia will it reduce the kp or stay the same ?

Oh hi Tom............

- - - Post Merge - - -

KP is number of people divided by 2 rounded up traditionally.

So 5 scum divided by 2 = 2.5, rounded up, means 3 KP

If a mafia is knocked off today KP will likely drop to 2. But then again, if Oath shot Kate where's the 3rd kill.
