Mafia Call the Ships to Port: Game Thread - END GAME - TOWN VICTORY!

So then what is the point of the RQ system ? It's literally looking more and more like a way to hide mafia and make them appear "active" to blend in. Just like you said.

I feel that the most important function of it is to make the new and less skilled players more comfortable posting

A lot of people have no idea what to talk about when they open a mafia game for the first time, so RQS helps get discussion going. However I understand where you're coming from here.

1. What is your timezone?
EST

2. How active will you be this game?
I'm unsure. Semi-active.

3. Preferred pronoun?
He/him

4. Do you prefer being town or being mafia?
I haven't had enough experience yet to decide.

5. How do you handle pressure?
Very well.

6. Which player(s) in this game can you read the best?
Nobody,yet.

7. Which player(s) in this game can best read you?
Nobody,yet.

8. How many games have you played?
This is my first game.

9. Who would you fearkill N1?
I'm unsure.

10. Will Ness answer this RQS?
I don't know what an RQS is.

Simple odds tells us that only 20% of so-called "deadweights" will be mafia, fair and simple. I have enough faith in those players anyway to get the obvious scum. And really, if a player is playing differently than how they normally play, we simply call them out now. Yes, I have seen deadweight players slip by probably dozens of times at any rate to endgame, but said players aren't really capable of ending the game in victory by themselves(without other skaters also present). The simple truth is, we have a greater chance of lynching scum if we lynch somebody who we actually debate over, and we get more information than the old system of "X is useless, let's just get him out of the way". Everybody agrees, you have a practically unanimous vote, and there is less to distinguish scum from town.
Heck, even the issue of skaters is honestly less of a thing than before. We've had games were the majority of scum were lynched in the last three days, despite the town's composition being worse than average, because those players are simply better than back when you played on here

How are you coming up with these numbers ? How can you have faith in those players when they look like they're just going to bandwagon left and right without being able to think for themselves ? That's literally the ideal situation that mafia want in the end, which we need to avoid. How do you even expect them to get obvious scum ? From what I remember, that was never the case. What do you think happens when we pick apart the list of deadweights ? Discussion. I don't see how it is a mafia tactic, rather I see why the mafia would want to keep useless players in the game. Really they're better ? How about that random person who joined with 1 post. Does that look better to you ? Other than that, it's true I don't really know how many of you play so I am learning as the game goes on.

What does Skater even mean ?

5. How do you handle pressure?

Gigalabesh handle pressure well do ye?...interesting

I think the RQS is the survey you just answered

@kate: why kill me if I?m a nerd? isn?t the purpose of fear killing to kill somebody you think is more likely take control of the game?
Eh, this is probably a joke, but it was presented to be taken seriously. I kinda don't like this as pressuring somebody over a RQS is generally bad, but I view this as somewhat self-serving and not a legitimate line of attack

Voting Punchy.
Fireninja leaves this. I'm going to say this right now before rereading through the rest of the thread: I don't like either of them as of right now. FN is being far quieter than I last remember him as town (MM), while Punchy has been kinda weird, even considering that it is him we're talking about. However, Fire leaves absolutely zero reason for his vote other than "he voted first" when Punchy literally retracted it in the same post and it was well established as a joke

just saying punchy is being dumb (I told you to stop, why can't you just respect that?), funny how tom said to lynch me when Punchy has been saying it nonstop like a sheep in discord, FireNinja is a bit hastty with the vote but not sure if he actually voted punchy because mobile, I'm away from a computer right now and pls don't be spamming dummies before I get home
I like this. This contains a lot of what I felt at the time

I don't think Ghost is scum in this post because I think that the scum would have told him what the things mean, like fearkill.
I actually like this post from Punchy, and while this is somewhat dependent on Ghost being town, I simply don't see this coming from a first-time mafia. Why? If Ghost is town, Punchy is thinking that TRing Ghost here really isn't going to help him, but he responds fairly quickly to townread him, rather than leaving (much) time for him to weigh the benefits as scum. Though I dont like the subsequent TRing of Ghost that followed

1. No, it's not.
2. Even if this were true, Punchy voted before I did.
Fireninja STILL not providing reasoning

I kinda feel that Trundle is delibrately trying to get into my good graces. He only answered the first 6 questions, like I did, and I am his first read (as town). I would very much like him to expand upon this
I have red flags going up everywhere in this thread, how many mafia should there be? 5-6?

Is that what you're trying to do this time? New strat new you?
I don't like this. This is really an oppertunistic attack, and thats pretty characteristic of scum Toads. It reminds me of last game where he ripped into Ness for not explaining why he campaigned how he did ASAP

I don't have anything definitive at this point. The only thing which I have particular confidence in is that Punchy/Ninja are almost certainly not a team

Myman don’t edit posts, even if they’re double mmkay it’s one of the rules

Also instead of continuing to meme I’m really feeling the fire that Kayla is spittin, but also as someone who always get shot down for wanting to no lynch I know that’s a train not worth ridin.

What does Skater even mean ?

It's simple. Everybody is going to have a 20% chance of being mafia (or you could argue that it's either a 0% or 100% chance, but w/e). If you're going to argue that weaker players are more likely to be mafia, thats BS. I have faith because they've proven that the majority of them can find mafia. Even last game, which was widely regarded as a disaster, the majority of remaining town voted on one of the mafia at the end. How can I expect them to pick obvious scum? Because I have faith that they can

We don't get discussion when we look into deadweights. What we look into isn't whether they are scum or town, but their usefulness if they are town.

Tbf, that one random poster probably isn't going to do much, but they aren't really characteristics

Skater=Coaster

Also, the game before last game, all but one player averaged at least 20 posts per cycle, so yes, things have changed (yeah, posts is a flawed measurement of skill or contribution, but it is a measure of involvement. No, I don't know off the top of my head what last game was BC I wasn't in it, and frankly, I'd like to end this because it isn't helping us in any way)

Someone post and fix this

We aren't a team.

Honestly I'm pretty sure you're not town. Just like really? This is either a bad townplay, a bad scumplay, or an obvious Jester play.

WAIT. BIG THEORY. AHH. THATS NOT GOOD IF ITS TRUE. I can't reveal this theory, I think that this could totally be possible in this setup

I hate this RQS but whatever
1. What is your timezone?
AEDT +11 Sydney time yo
2. How active will you be this game?
Moderately active, I have a few assessments due and exams coming up so that might affect it
3. Preferred pronoun?
He/Him
4. Do you prefer being town or being mafia?
Mafia
5. How do you handle pressure?
Very well
6. Which player(s) in this game can you read the best?
Glow, Dad, Locket, Mog? Honestly idk
7. Which player(s) in this game can best read you?
I feel like Toads/Ness/Dolby would probably, no idea either
8. How many games have you played?
40ish on TBT
9. Who would you fearkill N1?
Not glow :)
Obligatory scum team guess: Dad, Tom, Evan, Ryumia, Antonio
I?m pretty sure the set up is 5 mafia vs 1 hostile tp vs 19 town. Maybe a neutral tp too.

Just some quick housekeeping for the surplus of nubs and everyone else I guess bc these are always problems in games;

-Don?t claim, keep your role a secret. Even if you?re a townie with no powers, claiming will only narrow down who the blue roles (power roles) are. Just don?t do it pls. The only time you should claim is if you?re up for a lynch and several people ask you to claim.

-Be active, but don?t spam pls. Of course one-liners are fine, just try and be mindful of others by condensing your posts so people don?t have to go through hundreds of filler.

Honestly, my theory is that FN is a hostile TP. This is quite possibly a new role that no one else has created. If this is true, and something happens, then town will be doomed.

99 out of 100 times speculating TP does absolutely nothing. Fireninja did the same bs in Mystic Messenger and was softing jester D1, completely derailing the thread. Just ignore his **** tbh.
