Mafia Call the Ships to Port: Game Thread - END GAME - TOWN VICTORY!

99 out of 100 times speculating TP does absolutely nothing. Fireninja did the same bs in Mystic Messenger and was softing jester D1, completely derailing the thread. Just ignore his **** tbh.
I forgot about that, you're right

Ah. TBH I do recall that someone that wasn't ness was softing Jester that game. I seriously think that this theory is possible.

Yes Dolby, I'm picking the easiest and most obvious target ten seconds into day 1 as scum.

No, but if I can push punchy's buttons to get something out of him.... rather than let him be a sloppy mess then it's worthwhile

It's simple. Everybody is going to have a 20% chance of being mafia (or you could argue that it's either a 0% or 100% chance, but w/e). If you're going to argue that weaker players are more likely to be mafia, thats BS. I have faith because they've proven that the majority of them can find mafia. Even last game, which was widely regarded as a disaster, the majority of remaining town voted on one of the mafia at the end. How can I expect them to pick obvious scum? Because I have faith that they can

We don't get discussion when we look into deadweights. What we look into isn't whether they are scum or town, but their usefulness if they are town.

Tbf, that one random poster probably isn't going to do much, but they aren't really characteristics

Skater=Coaster

Also, the game before last game, all but one player averaged at least 20 posts per cycle, so yes, things have changed (yeah, posts is a flawed measurement of skill or contribution, but it is a measure of involvement. No, I don't know off the top of my head what last game was BC I wasn't in it, and frankly, I'd like to end this because it isn't helping us in any way)

I'm not arguing that weaker players are more likely to be mafia. I'm arguing that ideally mafia want useless players hanging around the end of the game. If stronger players are going to get killed at night plus deadweights are slipping by, then what's left for Town ? Your goal of lynching scum on Day One seems too unrealistic to me based on the games I have personally played.

You do make a good point that the discussion of deadweights has more to do with their usefulness if they are Town. That's been my point though .. I don't want useless Town players deciding if we win or lose towards the end. That's an ideal situation for mafia.

Ya & imagine that player with 1 post slipping by quietly towards the end ? What if they're the deciding vote on the final day ? I still don't get how you can have faith in that. They are statistics or characteristics until they are modkilled.

My judgements are based off of the games I played back in 2014. That's all I have to go by on right now. I do agree with you that things change and have changed, clearly. I'm struggling even just keeping up with the new terminology you guys are using.

I kinda feel that Trundle is delibrately trying to get into my good graces. He only answered the first 6 questions, like I did, and I am his first read (as town). I would very much like him to expand upon this

I assumed you were going to say that, but here is my "D1 first few hours" reads:

Tom - Mafia
toads - Posting seems weird but it always does and I got to observe his scum style quite closely in my game. I'm thinking town (even though his post ("*obligatory post about stupidly early read*") is the reason I mentioned the red flags.
Punchy - Possible mafia
Dolby - Town
Ghostkid - Probably town

I'm getting a town read from iLoveYou but I haven't played with her in literally years and she also tricked me super hardcore in my first mafia game ever, I wouldn't call anything too confident out on her so hopefully votes/actions can reveal something.

FireNinja is probably town, just being some kind of edgelord for the sake of it.

The whole "why u voting this why u voting that" is super off-topic and is already causing town to lose focus. If you're town and taking part in this conversation just drop it because it's derailing the little good conversation we have so far.

@iLoveYou, Hey, I really think that you should reread some recent games to see how we work now. This will be helpful to us and you throughout the rest of this game.

I'm just actively trying to help town, while meanwhile you're tunneling me for no valid reason

Do you know how easy it is to "look town" this early... throw out some non-founded reads and say look I'm making content. Meanwhile you can be either bringing attention to the wrong people as mafia, or starting a train of reads that again are unfounded and wrong for dumb reasons.

So please tell me how you actually are helping town.

You also are totally unaware of things

I think punchy is town hes trying to hard to cover that fact up...unless thats his plan all along.

I like Trundles reads, and largely agree with them (except on how Ghost/Punchy relate to each other), and they actually did make me think that ILoveYou was town. ILoveYou does genuinely believe that lynching inactives is the best move, and honestly, as scum, I feel that she would accept the new meta rather than try to argue away from it to lynching inactives. Basically, I feel that her arguing comes from a town place and that she’d be willing to accept the change as scum
