Did Nintendo ever make you cry?

Glitch, cannot see post.

I remember being somewhat upset the first time when the avatar in FE: Awakening had to choose between his/her life to take out Grima permanently, or letting Chrom finish him off only for him to be able to come back later.

Breath of the Wild had me almost crying with the champions. I really wanted to get to know them.

Mipha was the one I really got sad about and daruk but not really the salty one if you know who I mean.

Pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of darkness. The ending of the first part of the game is too sad :(

I think the reason it got to me is everything's so happy and then it does a full 180 on you.

It hit hard...

I can't believe I just cried at a Pokemon game, but here I am at the credits of Moon (specifically at the very end when you see the pictures of Lillie and Nebby as Lunala...and then the picture you all took in the city at the start). That ending was wonderful, it hit home that this felt like the first Pokemon game to develop the majority of the cast (you even get scenes with Mom in the ending!) and have the interactions you have with the major characters symbolically matter.

Honestly, yes. Several older episodes of the Pok?mon anime series made me cry watching them as a kid. I?m not sure if that counts as Nintendo, though. Animal Crossing for the Switch?a release date announcement got me pretty close to shedding a tear. We?ve been waiting for so darn long! ;-;

To qualify what I mean, I used to think one of the most memorable Elite 4 members was Flint from DPPt. This is despite seeing him once pre-League in a limited way...and even after that most of his memorabillity was shipping with Volkner, and my game theory he was the PC's father (because why else would they make characters named Lucas and Flint in the same RPG in 2007? LOL)

It's unbelievable to this vet fan that I was excited to fight the Elite 4 in Moon because I wanted to fight those specific characters. I was mad I couldn't fight Hapu again haha. I imagine my resonance to Moon's ending started right there.

I've never cried during a game, but I cried like a little baby during The Truman Show.

Not really actually which is weird

I cry about everything irl but movies, games or stories never make me cry...

Who knows why

Some of the Professor Layton games made me tear up. Specifically, Unwound Future and Azran Legacy. I didn't cry, but I was a bit horrified while watching some of the cutscenes in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright.

Oh, and the ending of Detective Pikachu. Yes, I got taken by that.

Drawn to Life and its sequel on the DS may look like a shovel-ware title, but it's actually a pretty decent game and deserves more respect in my opinion, especially when it comes to it's nice visuals and actually sometimes dramatic story. I was especially absorbed into this story when I played the game at age 8 or so. The ending of the first one ends on a bittersweet note, and I ended up tearing up during the end credits. The second one, though, has an infamous ending.

Basically, it turns out the whole thing was a dream. But, not just a kid having a nice sleep. Nah, it's the dream of a kid WHO WAS IN A CAR CRASH, WHOSE WHOLE FAMILY DIES EXCEPT FOR HIS SISTER, AND WAS IN A COMA FOR A YEAR. The funny thing is, it was foreshadowed in the first game and throughout the second game. All the people in the game are this race called "Raposa," but there's one character who's a human, which turns out to be the boy. Also, the main villain, Wilfre, is an obvious metaphor for his possible death. So yeah, kids stuff.

Now I think it was actually very bold, but when I was younger, I was a wreck (no pun intended). I'm pretty sure I cried myself to sleep that night, because I used to get super invested into stories (and I still kind of do, lol).

I actually recently found an active Discord and Wiki about the game, with a somewhat active community. It kind of gives my younger self closure in a way.

Not Nintendo games no, but there have been a few other games that have some really emotional parts imo. :p

Haha nooooooo definitely not 100%
ok maybe a little

Did nintendo ever make you cry? I saw someone say that a cutscene made them cry and I was wondering if any other things from nintendo made you cry and it has to be in a game. I had two scenes when I cried it was the ending cutscene in super mario galaxy 1 and the final cutscene in paper mario colour splash.

And just for the lols not in a game but no ac switch for the E3 direct

Actually they made me cry on the inside this morning when it was revealed that Super Mario Party will NOT be playable in handheld mode and does not allow the ability to use two Joycons (one in each hand), the grip or the pro controller. Strictly one Joycon held sideways in either docked or tabletop mode.

Way to defeat the purpose of play anytime anywhere. Some Away From The TV situations may require the use of handheld mode. What if you want to play SMP then? You can't. I can't decide if I should cancel my preorder or not because of this.

mother 3 made me cry like a baby when i was 10. still kinda does tbh
i cried over iwata a LOT
i cried over pokemon a lot as a kid but mostly out of frustration, not the actual story

I've cried at many video games but the only Nintendo game to make me cry is Pokemon Y. I cried at the ending cutscene and the post-game story ending with Looker.

Ah man, I LOVE Pokemon Y. And, you're right, the Looker side quests did get surprisingly emotional at times.

Majora's Mask....That game was quite a roller-coaster for my little 11 year old mind.

Nope, but Nintendo made my wallet cry every time.

My wallet will cry a river once I'm on my way to buy finally a Switch...

I was everytime sad back then at the end of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games for the DS.
For some reasons however, I didn't found the MD games for the 3DS that sad. They were kinda
sad but not that much as the others in my opinion.
