Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.
I've had people ask what college I go to a few times and then they're shocked when I say I'm in high school. Idk if it's my height that throws them off or what cause I don't rly look much older than I am.
I'm almost 30 and have looked the same for about 15 years. Not to say that I look young at all- I just think I look like 25 since I was a teenager. At restaurants I'd be offered margaritas and stuff when I was as young as 14. It's crazy and a big joke in my family! I've never been ID'd for anything yet. I'm concerned...do I look unusually old? Lol!!! It's gotten so bad that people think my mother and I are siblings when we're out in public. Someone said twins once and part of my soul died a little. I mean, she looks way younger but sometimes I'm still insulted to be 27 and look...50 something?
I almost always get mistaken for someone younger. Cashiers asking me if I want to use a student discount and me explaining I graduated 7 years ago...
I know that cleanly shaved, I do have a younger looking face than some others my age (25 by the way) but the problem gets even worse when I was working in the US
(I don't know but for some reason most American teenagers/young adults look older and more maturely build than Europeans or is that just me?), when I meet someone that looks way older than me and seems to be able to pick me up and throw me over a fence... Turns out to be 16... I think if I buy myself a backpack, I can still blend in in an American high school
But at the end of the day I don't really care. As a kid you always want to seem older but as an adult I take it as a compliment that I still look young (even though on the inside my bones already feel like an 80 year old)
Yep. I remember back in the Summer of 2017 when I went on vacation with extended family (grandparents, uncle, and cousins), one of my second cousins thought I was 13, when I was 19. And I myself believe I look younger than my age, as well. I am fine with this, I like that I am aging more slowly appearance-wise.
Since I have no interest in drinking, smoking, using tobacco products, going into bars/clubs, etc. and don't have an ID yet, I have only had a lack-of-an-ID issue once, and that was back on June 4th, when me, my dad, and my brother were going to get their vaccines. My dad and my brother are fully vaccinated, whereas I have not even gotten my first dose yet, since I don't have an ID. The only reason I can see why IDs should be required for vaccination is to show proof that you are in the eligibility range, if you "look too young".
This has happened to me before and I'm sure it'll happen again. I'm almost 18 and I've been mistaken to be much younger since I'm pretty short and also my face just kind of looks young.
when i was younger, i used to get mistaken for being a lot older than i was my mom used to tell people she had a daughter in middle school (me) and a daughter out of high school (my sister), and if i was around when she would say that people would always ask me what college i was enrolled in.... now i get mistaken for younger than my age instead. a total 180.....
Definitely get mistaken for someone younger. I'm 4'11" with a baby face so even when I know I'm 22 and a post-graduate student, people still mistake me as someone underage and a high school student. Once, our town was in quarantine and there was an age restriction (below 21 couldn't enter malls and stuff) and the guards at the mall entrance initially wouldn't let me in because I look 16. It annoys me a whole lot when people baby me because I look young, I hate some aspects about how I look and it's annoying that I can't physically change myself. I'm stuck in this body.
Honestly, not that often! If so it’ll be either a few years above or below. I always acted pretty mature for my age growing up, so when I was younger people would assume I was older. Now people guess my age correctly normally.
I used to always get asked for my ID card one year ago.. people thought I look like 14 when I was 23. I didn't mind, but nowadays since I have a very visible pregnancy belly I feel a lot judged, that people might think I am still super young and pregnant. I do look and dress a lot better nowadays though, so I look at least like I'm 18yo and don't need to show my ID anymore, but still.. I feel so judged :s
The one memory that stuck the most in my head, is when I visited Germany and me and my best friend went to cinema. Movie was for +16yo only. I was 22yo at this time and I got asked for my ID card, but my friend not. He still makes fun of me for that.
Hahahaha before I even clicked in here I knew exactly how this thread would go - everyone rushing in to insist they look younger! Thanks TBTers, you did not disappoint xD
In my early 20's most people thought I was still a teen. Now I'm in my mid 20's and most seem to think I'm just 20. Not a huge difference but in general people seem to think I'm about 2-5 years younger than I actually am.
