I remember briefly going over it from like Kindergarten- 3rd grade, but after that they stopped teaching it. I can write in cursive for the most part (although I'm rusty on some letters :B) and I can usually read it fine. I do, however, have a friend that almost strictly writes in cursive so (she's not from the US so maybe that's why xD)
I learned cursive in elementary but not in a traditional styled way. I couldn't grasp the concept of how to write in cursive because of my disability, so they gave me print off's of dashed lettering to connect my cursive over. they gave me 10's and 10's of these at a time, but I could never write in cursive outside of them. Now my cursive has gotten better, I can write in cursive, but it takes me a tremendously long time to do so. Unfortunately when it comes to my signature, my handwriting sucks, lol. I just get so nervous, but at the end of the day I taught myself cursive.
I can write cursive (though mainly just my name) and I can read cursive (unless it's an extremely fancy and loopy type of cursive). Honestly, it's mainly just important for me to be able to sign my name, it makes it look nicer when I sign my name in cursive.
I remember being taught how to write in cursive in elementary, I was pretty good at it although then they told us not to write that way no more. To this day I don't write in cursive however sometimes when writing I will join a couple of the letters together, its a habit i'm trying to get rid of.
I don't quite remember when we actually learnt it, but I took it on board straight away. I can't see why people would prefer printing over it honestly, but I guess it can be pretty messy sometimes.
my history teacher drilled us in 5th/6th grade to learn cursive and it just kinda stuck. my normal handwriting is super messy and illegible, but my cursive is neat and pretty, so im trying to "convert" myself to it.
Nope. And it's kind of terrifying to not know cursive as an adult, you have to sign so many documents and so trying to write my name in a pseudo-cursive when I can't actually do it is nerve-wracking.
I remember when I was in elementary school they would teach us cursive writing. I really did not like it but I got it down quickly. Today I really don't know how to write cursive anymore, but my mom showed me at least how to write my name in cursive. Took me about a week or two to get use to it, but now I do it all the time when signing in to class and homework. Though I can't read it very well!
In primary every day we'd have an hour spent writing in our handwriting books. The books would have sentences which we'd have to copy out and write in neat cursive writing. I used to love writing in cursive but as I progressed to secondary school (I'm from UK) writing cursive while taking notes and the teachers are rushing through slideshows it would be hard to keep up with, so my handwriting got messier and now I write in teeny weeny print
Yes. I was taught in second grade, but didn't have to use it again until 6th grade when I had an English teacher that required us to write all of our assignments in cursive. If it wasn't legible, we'd have to do it over again, so I have fairly neat handwriting now.
