I thought this would be an interesting thread due to the colder weather coming for some of us. If you’ve seen any of my posts, you are likely aware that I’m not a fan of cold weather. I was born in a northern state and after graduating from high school, I would always gravitate towards warmer weather places, especially in the winter.

I personally don’t like either. I will sometimes where a hoodie, but my main preference are the lightweight quarter zip jackets, often called track jackets. I like wearing those. Those do me just fine because I tend to stay near warmer climates during the colder months anyway. If not, I’m rarely ever outside during colder weather unless it’s to drive to work.

I know some people love hoodies/sweatshirts and wish they could wear them all year. I’m wondering what the preference of the forum is.

Hoodies for sure, they're super comfortable and I wear them all the time. I feel like jackets are more 'stylish' and aren't something you can just throw on like hoodies. (Also I have zero fashion sense, so I guess it sorta justifies my preference.)

I like hoodies and jackets. Not so much sweatshirts. It honestly depends on the weather, if it's raining, how cold it is outside as well as my outfit. If I'm going out to a party or a social function of some sort, then I would definitely be wearing a jacket as I own a few good jackets that look pretty good on me. If I'm just going to a mall or something, and it's not unbearably cold out, a hoodie is fine.

If I was still a teenager, probably would go with hoodies, in this case, I suppose I would go with jackets.

Easily hoodies. My usual outfit (weather permitting) consists of wearing a hoodie, a t-shirt, and shorts, so yeah, I basically wear one every day.

definitely hoodies/sweatshirts over jackets any day! i find hoodies and sweatshirts a lot more versatile - wear them inside for extra warmth, wear them outside when it's chilly, sometimes they can be dressed up a bit more. in my head jackets are to be worn outside and then taken off once you get inside, so i definitely prefer wearing something that i can just keep on. that might just be a me thing though lmao
i do own some nice jackets though that i enjoy getting out when it gets colder!

Where I live it rarely gets cold enough for a proper jacket so I wear a cheap Walmart hoodie most of the time. The weather here has changed so much in the past decade.I used to wear a flannel jacket with a medium-thick lining during the colder months but it just isn't cold enough to bust it out anymore.

I wear all of those options, whatever it takes to stay warm because I hate the cold. But I chose sweatshirts as my preference because layers make me uncomfortable. If the weather is just a bit chilly, I'd much rather wear a long-sleeved t-shirt, sweatshirt, or sweater by itself.

I own a lot more hoodies than jackets because they're a lot more prevalent and easy to find (plus people keep buying them for me), but in truth between the two I prefer jackets. I've never been a fan of hoods. I hate having anything on my head so I'll never use the hood and some of them are thick or puffy making it awkward to leave the hood down.

My favorite type of jacket is the baseball/varsity/bomber style. I get them in men's sizes so they're loose and comfortable. I like them in thinner spring/fall or thicker winter varieties. Something like this.

I don't like hoodies so not my style nor are they comfy and idk the hood is just in the way. I have one that I use for work cause they want us to have work clothes with their logo on and stuff and it's good cause I work in an archive freezer basically and it's warm. But yeah I'd rather be caught dead than wearing it my free time LOL.

I prefer just.. jackets, coats, raincoats.. Yeah.

hoodies are my go-to, then cardigans. i love hoodies, for some reason the weight of the hood on a hoodie reminds me to sit up straight and correct my posture haha.
also, pockets :)

I like hooded jackets. My head is often too big to fit into a traditional sweatshirt or hoodie. I need that zipper.

I like hoodies! I can wear them indoors, outdoors, and always feel the warmest in them too :)

I have a negative association with hoodies because I wore them constantly as a teenager to hide my body. I didn't want people to see that I was slightly overweight, so I made sure they were extra loose. Once my self esteem got better I quit wearing them for good and now wear fitted jackets. Sometimes I miss the comfort of hoodies, but I don't want to be reminded of that period of my life.

I don't have hoodies or jackets with hoods except for a rain jacket. I don't like them.

I'm more of a sweater/cardigan and jacket/blazer person.

Until recently, I'd only usually wear jackets and I liked them cuz the ones I have were able to be light/keep me warm and had nice pockets, but lately I've been wearing more hoodies. In general I prefer short sleeves over long sleeves but it gets pretty cold out here and I've kinda been enjoying the fuzziness of hoodies plus the pocket they have. I bought a few sweaters but I don't really wear them tbh but it could also just be the material that I don't like.. They feel like inferior hoodies since they don't have hoods or pockets...

I love jackets. Most hoodies go up too high on the neck for my liking, as I’m most comfortable in v-neck shirts. However, I like my hoodies that have local stuff and funny sayings on them— so I wear them briefly.
