I held on to one for a long time just to play Duck Hunt with my NES. It was so heavy I wasn't able to move it when I needed to quickly vacate my parent's old house.

Got rid of my last one in my late teens. Glad we've moved past that era - I struggle with heavy objects due to nerve damage.

I was interested in buying one but seemed like a big hassle trying to find a place for it.

Yep! I have one in the basement just gathering dust not being used for years. The one I have in particular is a Sony Trinitron. I remember the times watching stuff using VHS tapes (which are also obsolete) in low quality compared to today. I even played a handful of games on there with my NES, PS2, and Wii before eventually moving on to the TVs we have today. Thankfully, both TVs in my house have component inputs, so the transition in terms of setting up the game systems is pretty smooth.

Don't own any currently, but my family used to have a 15" CRT monitor and a 32" CRT TV before they refused to flicker on - around 2012. They were great for classic games and idle browsing. If I still had my 'retro' consoles with an intent to visit classic games I'd be in the market for one. I don't have space right now anyway though. 😭

The last time I bought one of these TVs, it was so heavy, I nearly dropped it and broke it getting into the house. I fully approve of people keeping them to play Atari but I think there are also adapters people can get to play Atari on a newer TV. I grew up with these TVs and remember when they came in their own cabinets, lol. But yeah, the pictures were pretty terrible. And fussing with antennae could be a drag.

I miss the old school stereo systems that played vinyl records more.

I still own a CRT but haven't used it in a while so I'm unsure whether it is still operational. Still had two up to about a month ago when one stopped working and we got rid of it.

No. I haven't had a CRT since the early 2000s. As a gamer with old game consoles, it would probably be helpful to have one. However, I honestly can't stand them anymore. I can actually hear the high-pitched buzz these things all have when they're turned on.

i haven't used my old crt in a while, i sold off my game collection so i dont really have a reason to use it because nowadays i just emulate. i miss that buzzing noise though lol

My family had 2 CRTs up until a couple years ago. All of our CRTs were rehomed with Super Smash Bros Melee players, since they needed CRTs to play the game! I kind of miss having CRTs, since I can notice a delay when I try to play old PS2 games.

Used to have a handful of them. Whenever someone would upgrade to the new TVs, they would give me their old crts. I don't have any of them anymore. For the longest time one of them was just chilling in one of the closets in case one of the other crts went up, but they were both extremely bulky and heavy compared to the newer ones. So I upgrade because it's just convenient not having to lug around a 30-40 pound tv.

My family still owns one but they don’t really use it anymore, but the only reason it’s still here is because its really heavy to carry :’)
