I think it's cool! But I like the way it starts as well. I'm not super creative so I'm not sure (yet) if I'll use it much. I also like to just work with what I have. But it would be so cool to create a little pond with a waterfall next to my house! I can't wait for the game, everything looks so much better than I ever could have imagined.
I like that you don't HAVE to use it, you don't start out with a square piece of land where you just get to go and plop down some rivers, that wouldn't be my thing. It's totally optional and I love that.
I like that it’s optional! You don’t HAVE to use them if you think it’d be overwhelming to you I think it’s just a cool feature to be able to use if you choose. I’m sure you can still make a stunning island without modifying the cliffs and stuff. It will be so cool to see how everyone chooses to decorate their land.
I love it. The fact that New Leaf had so much more customization than previous games is what made me like that game so much, but this is even more customizable than New Leaf. That makes me super excited. It's actually way more interesting than what villagers or NPCs are in the game for me personally.
Absolutely not, as many said it's optional, so don't stress. It'll also potentially save everyone hours resetting for ideal maps now too. Native fruits might be a bother still tho?
I think the best thing is that you do not HAVE to modify your island. So if you feel it's going to be too overwhelming you can just avoid it. This is one of the best things they could have done in my opinion! It means peoples islands can be even more individual, they're just providing us with the basic map and then we are free to do as we like with the permit.
initially it seemed overwhelming for me too but now i think they were trying to showcase the possibilities and extent to which you can decorate and customize your island. the features and items are there, but you don't have to use them or you can make your island look simplistic or minimal
I think it's exciting and it's making way for a huge plethora of new concepts for our islands. Having said that, I hope it doesn't negate from the villager-player relationship side of things.
Honestly I do think it's a bit too much, for me at least, but that's alright because it's not like we'll be forced to use it Landscaping has never been important to me (I never even used paths in New Leaf) and I wouldn't even know where to begin.
