Do you try to balance out the personality types in your town?

Not really, I currently have no peppy or uchi, I have double snooty/lazy/normal and smug. I’m thinking I’ll switch out either a snooty or lazy for Chief. Which will leave me with 2 cranky villagers but it doesn’t bother me, I’ve found I’ve become too attached to certain animals from pervious games and would like them again regardless of how repetitive it might become :)

I don't really worry about it. I think my New Leaf town has like 3 peppy villagers and 3 snooty villagers right now. My New Horizons town is a bit more balanced, but not on purpose.

Yeah. I like to have 1 of each personality because of the unique dialogue (and different crafting recipes? Idk if this a thing).

I just realized I have 3 jocks in town, but I love all 3 of them so I think I'm gonna have to sacrifice a personality type or two on my island, since I plan to move in two normals.

Do you guys try to avoid duplicate personality types like that on your island as much as possible? I wasn't really paying attention and just moved in whomever I thought was cute and I liked aesthetically, so there's a few personality type overlaps there. I would like more diversity in dialogue, but I'm quite attached to them now. I'm not a huge fan of Smugs and Crankies, so I guess this works out.
Right now I am sort of...I think I have everyone (have a peppy moving in soon) but a smug (which is probably my least fav personality). I guess I'm not really sure if there's an negatives right now (like pwp personality suggestions in NL) so I'm trying to keep at least 1 of each till I have everything I'm looking for or know if they suggest/give recipe types based on that.

I was thinking of getting 1 more jock but their dialogues are so similar, it felt less unique and more artificial to have 2 villagers talk the same way imo.. althou I can probably handle cranky doubles and normals, we'll see

I always, no exceptions, have all personality types in my village. I would never choose a duplicate over having one of each type. That being said, with 10 villagers, I will obviously have two duplicates. Right now that's Cranky and Normal, but I'm sure it will change over time. As a personal rule, though, I always have 5 male and 5 female villagers, one of each type plus one extra male and female. I just like the symmetry!

I like one of each type to lower dialogue repeats. Then 2 duplicates. Looking like I'll have two normal and two cranky.

Of all the personality types, I do think Jocks are the least interesting in my opinion, so it kinda sucks I have three of them, haha. But I started with Ribbot and he's really grown on me, and I think Roald and Dom are just so cute.

i definitely wanna get all eight personality types for dialogue variety! i talk to my villagers a lot and i really dont want things to get stale. im at 8/10 rn and i'm only missing snooty. the remaining slots dont really matter that much to me - one of them will have to be taken up by Gaston since he's my fave, but i dont think i care about the tenth slot.

i happen to have two lazies rn, because i was out of nook miles tickets hunting for Gaston, and i wanted to make sure i invited someone before 5am - i'm not sure if housing plots fill up with randoms if you don't find anyone to move in manually, but i didnt wanna risk it, so i ended up inviting Zucker, if only because i know someone else might like him if i dont. now that he's all moved in, i think i might actually keep him over Stitches! but that's less about me not wanting two lazies, and more about me hating his generic house...

I make sure to have at least 1 of each so I can get more of a variety in dialogue.

I try to have at least one of each type, but no more than two. But if I run into a dreamie on an island tour, I always ask them to move in, even if I already have several others with their personality type.

So, despite already having two other peppies (Pango and Flora), I asked Tangy to move in. So now I'm getting a lot of repeated dialogue and have no lazies! I have to wait for Pango to move out, and then hopefully I'll run into a lazy villager I like on a tour in order to restore some balance.

i like having at least one of each type! right now i have 9 villagers with each personality type so i've doubled up on peppy.

I personally like to get one of each villager type, then usually I get one extra personality type for each gender. I accidentally grabbed 3 normal ladies. First I grabbed Annalisa, then Marina, then Fauna. I already had Marina in New Leaf so I'm kinda leaning on kicking her out.

I do as well. I like to have 1 of each personality but jock. I don't invite jocks to my island and Sparro, my starting jock, is getting booted out in a few days lol.

In NL i needed the personalities for PWPs, but now it's just for dialogue variety :)

I'll end up with 3 normal and 2 lazy right now as my personality duplicates, and i'm alright with it.

i try to have one of each type just to keep the dialogue from getting too repetitive! ofc since there's only 8 personalities you're gonna have 2 duplicates no matter what

Not only do I want to balance my island with all personaloty type but also have my villagers with all different species. I gotta say, its really hard to do so ;-;

I try to have at least one of each for variety, as too many of one personality can become very repetitive with their dialogues. In NL finding an uchi/jock I liked was very challenging, I settled with Phoebe and Hamlet but I never really clicked with them. Let's see if this time is different. I started with Reneigh and I absolutely love her, so that's my uchi down. As for jocks, I might try Rudy, but if that doesn't work either I'll just get a second snooty or smug.

i'm trying to! i don't have a 10th villager yet or a cranky on my island so whenever i put the plot down i'll be specifically looking for that. that's not to say that if i across a dreamie that i won't immediately back out on that plan though lol

I try to have one of each personality in my town. It helps keep it more diverse for me. This game I might try to restrict it to only one jock and one peppy in my town because they feel a bit overwhelming with their personalities this time and I'm not sure if I can handle having more than one of them in my town.

I want all 8 yes, currently have 3 lazies and 2 normals, so, um...

For the duplicates I'd want 2 normals just because I really want both Fauna and Molly, and then I'll see who I'll end up with for last.
