I think it’s fun sometimes. Eg if I were playing a game with a friend I prefer voice chat.
But most of the time I like texting because you can drop in anytime for a few seconds and then go back to real life so it’s more convenient, esp when a lot of people I chat with are in opposite time zones.

No, I don't like voice chatting or calling at all. It makes me nervous for some reason, and I dread when a friend asks if we can call. 😭 I much prefer texting, even if it's slower.

I don’t like voice chat. I have trouble articulating my thoughts when talking, staying focused, not stumbling, among other issues. Typing is much easier for me.

I really like it! It's so much fun when playing games or watching movies with friends and I enjoy making people laugh. It feels more natural and exciting when I hear someone's voice. I get to hear their tone and their personality whereas typing can feel a bit more flat. I'm always down to voice chat, new or old friends. I'm introverted but I love talking.

I was thinking asking if there could be a voice chat channel in the TBT Discord for the TBT Neighborly Games, but seeing the replies, I guess it wouldn't be used. 💀

Only with people I have a level of trust with, but I do prefer voice calls to messaging, I’ve alway found messaging annoying. But for short things I prefer messages, like asking me to pick up something on my way home etc. if it takes less than 15 minutes message, longer, call to me. I enjoy voice calling with my partner and friends!

I also am way more self conscious how I come across in messages, and don’t want to be rude or cause misunderstandings.

I’ve never really used it or needed to use it. If I were in a position that I’d want to voice chat with someone, I’d be already close enough with them that I’d have their phone number and we’d just call each other. It’s not that I feel odd about it or anything, it just doesn’t have a place in my activity.

I would use it with you! I love talking to people. It’s just not something I go to usually. <3

i love voice chatting with people! i tend to be a little weary at first, but once i get used to talking to a person i absolutely love it! i’m also that one person who doesn’t mind talking on the phone… unless it’s extended family 😰

i don't mind it, it used to make me nervous but i've gotten used to it. obviously this is different if you're dealing with dysphoria but at the end of the day your voice is your voice so there's no use worrying about it, if people are rude they don't matter.

i don't play multiplayer games with people i don't know though, so that's not a worry i have.

I really don't like voice chatting. I'd much rather just type or something. I don't really find myself in a place where I'd need to use it, so I'm pretty lucky tbh. I just don't like that barrier or anonymity being taken away. Also not too keen on my voice, but that aside I just don't like it.

I don't mind it among people that I know, not total strangers. It can be more convenient sometimes if I'm playing a game that really requires a lot of attention, although I don't play a lot of games like that these days. I find that text chat is also just fine most of the time.

I would say my biggest issue is that with voice chat there is a much higher likelihood that I will say something embarrassing 😅 having to type things out acts as a good filter.

It's whatever. I've done it with strangers before and it was fun! It's just talking so it's no big deal.
